Welcome!

[edit]
Some cookies to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, AquaTeen13! I am Airplaneman and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post.

One thing to note: Wikipedia isn't a forum, so off-wiki topics are discouraged on talk pages; user pages are fine.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Airplaneman talk 00:45, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} I came across a website that showed what Madame Leota says in the Seance Room during the Haunted Mansion, and I just had to put it in! However, when I tried to put in the citation, everything after that went into a very small font. I tried to fix it. Was there anything I forgot?

You tried to close the <blockquote> tag by repeating it at the end, but the way to close html tags is to put a / in front of them e.g. <blockquote>BLAHBLAH</blockquote> will look like:

BLAHBLAH

I fixed it for you here. I also moved it outside the reference so they show up properly. ~ Amory (utc) 16:42, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} How do you contribute in the Wikipedia Trading Card Game? I became a member pretty recently, but I'm a little confused.

You may be a bit confused, and understandably. The "Wikipedia TCG" does not actually exist - it is a piece of humour intended to allow Wikipedians to "have a laugh" now and then. You should not take things like that seriously; instead, there are many more productive things you can do. I have listed a few below, though there are countless others/

I apologize for any confusion this may have caused. Intelligentsium 21:51, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article The 39 Clues, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This is particularly important when adding or changing any facts or figures and helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please avoid speculation until you can cite a RELIABLE source. Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 15:12, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for deleting the information so quickly, but there have been many, many people adding wrong titles to the page without anything (except rumors) to back them up which is against Wikipedia policy, so I was trying to keep it blank until there was actually a source from Scholastic which backed up the claims. Thank you for identifying the source. VernoWhitney (talk) 15:25, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to The 39 Clues. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit. It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. mono 23:50, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey AquaTeen13! Thanks for being a part of the Percy Jackson Task Force here on Wikipedia. We're cleaning up our list of members; the project would like to make sure all members listed are participating. Therefore, we're holding a roll call for the members of the Percy Jackson Task Force and appreciate your help by acting quickly. Before you confirm your membership, you'll want to look over the obligations for members. In order to remain a member, you must:

  • Contribute to the current PJTF collaboration and Percy Jackson articles constructively. A minimum of 10 (constructive) edits on Percy Jackson topics per month is required for members.
  • Be generally active in the affairs of the WikiProject (watchlist and participate in the General Forums, vote at AfDs, keep up with vandalism, and more).

Additionally, consider adding {{WP:PJTF/Update}} and {{Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Outreach/User Percy Jackson task force}} to your userpage for project updates and to show off your membership. We hope you're still active and interested, as the Percy Jackson Task Force is looking for more contributions from members. Also, check out ways to help the project. Thanks!

2019 US Banknote Contest

[edit]
US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
