Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Orders of magnitude (temperature), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Furnace Creek (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Antarctic Treaty System into Crime in Antarctica. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. I declined your request to delete Draft:Daylight hours by latitude because the proposed deletion process can only be used in article space. I could have deleted it as {{Db-author}} since you are the only substantive author, but I'm not convinced that it should have been declined at AFC (at least, not for the reasons given). I can still do that if you really want, but for now I've instead opened a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Time#Daylight hours by latitude. SpinningSpark 09:10, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for opening up a discussion page. I didn't realize that this chart had any chance of going anywhere. I think its kind of useful to be able to look at a chart and get a basic idea of what summer and winter is like around the world in terms of light. I hope other users will be able to come up with constructive ideas to have this chart better fit the standard. User:Appple 05:23, 30 May 2020

I thought it was fine as you wrote it, with just some stylistic issues. Let's see if there is any support at the Wikiproject first. The trouble with Wikiprojects though, is that most of them are completely moribund with no one taking an active part. We can always start an RFC, or just unilaterally move it back to mainspace which will force anyone who was against that to start a proper deletion discussion.
Actually I'm quite annoyed that a relatively inexperienced user was not told until the third review that actually, after putting a great deal of effort into the page, that it is not suitable for Wikipedia after all. I would relish the opportunity to thrash this one out in a deletion debate. SpinningSpark 08:38, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am okay with trying out any of those options that you mentioned. There are also two versions of the chart. If you look in the history, you will find the version with the photographs of the cities. I like that one better. I think the photographs make the chart more interesting. But either chart is better than having no chart at all. User:Appple 22:28, 30 May 2020

Yes, I had seen the pictures already. I agree, they should be put back in. I have a lot of respect for DGG, but don't agree with him in this case. SpinningSpark 01:00, 31 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on New India (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
