User talk:Aperlut
I am Aaron Perlut, executive director of a 501c3 not-for-profit organization called the American Mustache Institute. We have previously posted articles about our organization and purpose, and they were removed. We understand concerns voiced by Mike Rosoft, and wish to have our entry reconsidered please which I am including below. You will also find several examples of international media coverage about our organization. Thank you for your consideration. I am including below our proposed entry:
‘WHAT IS THE AMERICAN MUSTACHE INSTITUTE'
The American Mustache Institute(AMI) is an advocacy organization and registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit based in St. Louis, Missouri.
Originally formed in St. Louis in the Summer of 2006, AMI is a global membership organization which advocates for greater acceptance of mustaches in the workplace and throughout modern culture.
Efforts by AMI have been chronicled by the London Daily Telegraph, the Dallas Morning News, USA Today, the New York Times, and The Learning Channel among other popular media.
Part of the organization’s charter includes commitment to supporting communities in which it works, and therefore created a charitable fundraising mechanism for organizations such as Challenger Baseball, a baseball league for disabled children.
HOW AMI ACTS
AMI held its first charitable fundraiser – 'Stache Bash 2006 – in July 2006. The event raised awareness of the issue of mustache acceptance, supported mustached Americans, and raised funds for Challenger Baseball.
For ‘Stache Bash 2007, AMI created the “Greatest Sports Mustache” contest, which was won in a popular vote by former Major League Baseball player Keith Hernandez. The event raised enough funds to allow Challenger Baseball to add six new teams for the 2008 campaign.
Among others, leading up to ‘Stache Bash 2007, Matt Marrone of the New York Daily News referred to AMI as, "truly one of the most august bodies in the United States today ..."
‘ONGOING EFFORTS BY AMI’
AMI continues its efforts of building a global community to help revive the mustache and will continue to hold its marquee 'Stache Bash event each year in St. Louis (scheduled for October 25, 2008).
Speedy deletion of American Mustache Institute

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Bstone (talk) 19:29, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm unable to find any indication that this organization is sufficiently notable for inclusion; if you feel otherwise, please provide sources. evildeathmath 18:37, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Hello, I'm the originator. I'm working with Peter Symonds in trying to get this correct and appropriate. There is linking to other media citing the organization
- I've left some initial comments on the article's talk page. PeterSymonds (talk) 19:04, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Veiled Prophets
[edit]Hello, I am inquiring as to an image that was posted by a 3rd party on the Wiki page of the Veiled Prophets (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veiled_Prophet_Ball), a civic group in St. Louis. There is an image there of a Ku Klux Klansman that is in no way affiliated with the organization and the organization wishes to have it removed but hopes to do this through the proper channels. Can you please advise? Thank you
