Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
[edit]SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information. For more information about the columns and categories, please consult the documentation and please get in touch on SuggestBot's talk page with any questions you might have.
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker. -- SuggestBot (talk) 04:09, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
Attempts to take Mullum Malarum to FAC will be on hold until Ssven2 returns. Meanwhile, Mouna Ragam will a solo FAC effort for me. Would you be willing to post comments at the PR page? --Kailash29792 (talk) 05:50, 21 October 2019 (UTC)

Shinya Kogami
[edit]Do you think Shinya Kogami might be wellwritten enough to become a GA? I suddenly thought that when I expanded the respective 2015 movie recently.Tintor2 (talk) 14:25, 30 October 2019 (UTC)tly.
- @Tintor2: Thank you for the message. It looks ready to me. The only question I would have is about the reference in the lead. Is there any reason why the reference is there? Otherwise, good luck with it! Aoba47 (talk) 16:04, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note. Now nominated.Tintor2 (talk) 16:23, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
- Good luck with the nomination! Aoba47 (talk) 16:25, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
- By the way, talking about this certain franchise some time ago I found a translation of the movie phamplet here where the writers discuss a theme of the movie and charactter involving Kogami. I found the data of the phamplet here here but the guys from Help talk:Citation Style 1 apparently didn't reply to me. Is it possible to somehow use the phamplet as a source to possibly expand the creation section?Tintor2 (talk) 17:08, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
- I think the pamphlet can be used on Wikipedia to cite information. The cite book or AV media notes templates might be good choices for this, with some modifications. You could also try looking if other Wikipedia articles cite pamphlets and how those editors go about it. Aoba47 (talk) 18:39, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
- The article is being reviewed. Could you give a brief copyedit? It seems the reviewer believes the prose still needs clean up.Tintor2 (talk) 02:00, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for the message. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to do a copy-edit, and I do not feel particularly qualified to do one. Apologies for not being much help. Aoba47 (talk) 10:48, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Tintor2: Congrats on having the article pass the GAN. Aoba47 (talk) 21:44, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

I'm starting to get concerned with what may be going behind the scenes with Ssven. He said he'd be done with his PhD by mid-October, after which he'd return full-time and help me with MM. One of his last comments gives me a feeling that he may not return in any way soon. Anyway, regardless of whether he returns, I'll return to this FAC in December or January. I hope I'm not pestering you; it's just that I've already prepared my coffin which no-one yet knows, and I want MM to attain FA status before that. But I need your help addressing various comments raised by Fowler during the FAC since I cannot understand most of them. Besides, what do you think of using the book Pride of Tamil Cinema? It was discussed here. --Kailash29792 (talk) 10:50, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
- I would be more than happy to help with the MM FAC in the future. The previous nomination received a lot of support so I hope that the same editors will return and support for the next nomination as well. The Pride of Tamil Cinema source seems appropriate to me.
- I am sorry to hear that you will be retiring in the future. Ten years is quite an achievement and you will certainly be missed. Congratulations to Ssven on getting his PhD and I wish him the best of luck in transitioning to whatever his desired career path is. I also want to wish you good luck with everything too. Aoba47 (talk) 16:36, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
The King of Fighters XI
[edit]Hi. In case you are interested I nominated the article The King of Fighters XI to GA. I already worked on it some time ago and had it copyedited but I didn't feel like nominating it. Feel free to give it any touch or review it. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 00:40, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for the message. I unfortunately do not have the time to do a full review for the article, but I will try to look through it in the near future. Good luck with the nomination. Aoba47 (talk) 02:57, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!
[edit]The Barnstar of Diplomacy | |
Thank you so much for all your help with Jill Valentine's 5th FAC. You genuinely went above and beyond everything I expected from a co-nominator. In fact, it's fair to say you did most of the work this time around (serves me right for being in Europe while most of the reviewers were in US time zones). But, beyond that, with everything this article has gone through during previous FACs – the blatant hostility and distinct lack of any kind of collaboration from the opposing reviewers – you probably deserve this particular barnstar more than anyone else who has ever received it. You almost singlehandedly resolved the messiest and most hostile, uncollaborative and disheartening project I've ever come across on Wikipedia. Feel free to add Jill Valentine to the Featured Articles section of your userpage. You definitely deserve to. ;) Homeostasis07 (talk/contributions) 01:49, 18 November 2019 (UTC) |
- Thank you for the kind words! I am glad that I could help with the project. A majority of the credit should go to you and Damien Linnane since both of you did the heavy lifting, and I am very happy to see that work being recognized with the featured article promotion. Feel free to let me know if you need any help with any of your future projects! Hope you are having a great start to your week. Aoba47 (talk) 19:44, 18 November 2019 (UTC)

A Tree Grows in Guadalajara
[edit]Hello:
I've had a run through "A Tree Grows in Guadalajara" for you and had to make only minor changes here and there. I think any reader should be able to understand the Analysis section.
I think it's in good shape for a GAN. Best of luck with that.
Regards,
Twofingered Typist (talk) 22:08, 24 November 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for the edits! You have improved the article immensely, and your copy-edits are always greatly appreciated. Have a great rest of your weekend. Aoba47 (talk) 22:11, 24 November 2019 (UTC)
Hi there
[edit]I forgot to tell you but The King of Fighters XI became GA. The reviewer was nice with some prose issues and UKER also helped. I 'm planning to nominate The King of Fighters XIV too but I'm not sure if it's on good shape. I know you will be inactive for some time but if you feel like having free time with Wikipedia I would be glad if you checked the article. I guess it first would need a copyedit even though it's actually been copyedited.Tintor2 (talk) 21:46, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

Semi-retirement notice
[edit]Hello everyone! It has been a little under four years since I first joined Wikipedia. I am very proud of my work on here, but I am the most grateful to all the editors I have collaborated with during reviews, random projects, and chance interactions. There are way too many to name here, but I really do appreciate all of you. I want to give a special thank you to Another Believer because they were the first editor that I interacted with on Wikipedia and they put forth so much a warm and collaborative environment that encouraged me to stay on for so long.
I wanted to put up this message to provide further context for the recently-added semi-retired tag on my user pages. I will be scaling back my time on Wikipedia for the foreseeable future to refocus my attention on other activities. I will still occasionally log on to revise and prepare GAs for potential FACs, but I do not see myself working on entirely new articles and lists anytime soon. I will no longer be doing reviews at the GAN/FAC/FLC levels (or any reviews in general) due to these time constraints, and it is probably best to leave these reviews to the far more experienced editors anyway. I have certainly enjoyed my time on Wikipedia thus far, and I wish everyone with the best of luck with their future Wikipedia projects and everything else off-Wiki too! Aoba47 (talk) 03:42, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
Future
[edit]I wish you all the best Aoba for life outside Wiki. But when I re-open MM, you would still comment right? As in, not give detailed criticism like Fowler does, but just support because your comments from previous FACs were addressed and the article still looks good right? But I've decided to open it once Sathi Leelavathi's FAC closes, regardless of whether Ssven returns or not. --Kailash29792 (talk) 04:35, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for the message and the kind words. I would reinstate my support at the next MM FAC based on my commentary during the peer review and past FACs, and I would support a FAC for Mouna Ragam based on my commentary at the peer review. Just let me know when either of these articles are put up for a FAC. For my comments above, I meant that I would not be doing any new reviews, but since I have already looked at both MM and Mouna Ragam, I would be more than happy to participate in the FACs for both. I hope that clears things up, and apologies for the confusion. Aoba47 (talk) 04:46, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
- When you do reopen the MM FAC, I would recommend pinging all of the previous reviewers from the last FAC. Given that a majority of them supported the last FAC, I would not be surprised if they reinstated their support too. Aoba47 (talk) 04:50, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
Cheesy
[edit]I just saw this, so like a good stalker, I'll say that I love cheesy. Cheesy people have a good heart, and I wish there were more cheesy people working on Wikipedia. And you, my friend, are good good good!! I'll miss having you review my articles for FAC, especially that of Miz Portman, who I know you love as much as I do. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 18:45, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for your kind words! I always enjoy working with you, and your work is very inspiring. I am looking forward to seeing your future projects and feel free to message me anytime. Let me know how the Natalie Portman FAC goes when it happens. Now I feel inspired to go and re-watch some of her films lol. Aoba47 (talk) 19:06, 26 November 2019 (UTC)

[edit]I'm a bit conflicted writing this. On the one hand, I'd like to say thanks for all the help you've afforded me over the past year. The quality of work you've done for this project over those four short years (couldn't believe that when I read it) has been immeasurable, and I'm honoured that one of my meager projects intersected with your talent; that article would have never become FA without your time and expertise. On the other hand, I completely understand your reasons for retiring, and in fact would like to echo many them. This website just isn't what it used to be... the sheen has definitely gone, and our time is much more likely better spent elsewhere. Thanks again for all your work, and good luck with all your future endeavours! ;) Homeostasis07 (talk/contributions) 23:18, 30 November 2019 (UTC)

Jill Valentine scheduled for TFA
[edit]This is to let you know that the Jill Valentine article has been scheduled as today's featured article for January 19, 2020. Please check the article needs no amendments. If you're interested in editing the main page text, you're welcome to do so at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/January 19, 2020, but note that a coordinator will trim the lead to around 1000 characters anyway, so you aren't obliged to do so.
For Featured Articles promoted on or after October 1, 2018, there will be an existing blurb linked from the FAC talk page, which is likely to be transferred to the TFA page by a coordinator at some point.
We suggest that you watchlist Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors from the day before this appears on Main Page. Thanks! Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:11, 13 December 2019 (UTC)

Nickelodeon aired the special as part of its focus on cultural diversity; Rugrats was one of the first mainstream television shows to feature Kwanzaa. The episode focuses more on family and what it means to be a great person rather than Kwanzaa's history or how it is practiced. Frozen 2
[edit]Hello there and Happy New Year! Just thought I'd let you know that I've finally seen Frozen 2 (a little late to the party, I know), and I must say that, much to my surprise...I actually really enjoyed it! Like, to the point where I find myself debating whether or not it's better than the first one. As cynical as I was going into it, it actually felt genuine and much less like a cash grab than a lot of Disney's recent material, and found the songs even more enjoyable now that I've seen and heard them all in context; "Show Yourself" has definitely replaced "Into the Unknown" as my favourite – I might consider developing the article on it ("Show Yourself", that is). Although I found the story a little bizarre at times – venturing into territory that is a lot less "grounded" than the first – it's still solid, and the animation is absolutely jaw-dropping. Just figured I'd share my thoughts :-) --Changedforbetter (talk) 07:07, 6 January 2020 (UTC)

- Thank you for the message! I hope you are doing well. "Show Yourself" is my favorite too, and it really brought the whole movie together for me. I agree that the story did get quite bizarre, and although I had issues with some of the plot points upon reflection, I still thoroughly enjoyed watching it. The animation was crazy good. Despite all of that, I hope they do not pursue a Frozen III, and go after original content instead. I'd prefer if they released some shorts later to wrap up any of the loose threads instead of another feature-length film. Let me know how the "Show Yourself" article develops if you do decide to work on it. I am still debating on whether or not to work on a Disney character article in the future, but I am going to enjoy my break for some time first lol. Aoba47 (talk) 19:49, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
