License tagging for File:ChinaSat 12.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:ChinaSat 12.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages
Thank you for your recent articles, including Nirbheek, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. This can help you too, as the WikiProject members will often defend your work from deletion and try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information. AntanO, your nomination of the 9/11 Living Memorial article for DYK has a major problem: the article is far too short to qualify. It's under a fourth as long as it needs to be. Please reply at the template if you plan to expand it so it's over 1500 prose characters (the minimum requirement for DYK). If changes are not forthcoming, the nomination will have to be closed. Thanks for your interest in DYK, and I hope you continue expanding the article and its sources. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:07, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

I have removed your speedy deletion tag off of Sri Lanka Kaffir language again. speedy deletion criteria are very specific and pages can only be deleted when they meet those specific criteria. Your reasoning does not fall into any of the approved criteria. Please use the redirect for discussion process. GB fan 11:55, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
- GB, How could you say since it applies to redirect? Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#List of criteria - These apply to every type of page, and so apply to articles, redirects, user pages, talk pages, files, etc. So, what's your point? --AntonTalk 12:11, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, speedy deletion criteria apply to every type of page, but only if they meet the specific criteria listed there. The reason you gave for deleting that page is not among those specific criteria. That means the page can not be deleted under speedy deletion. So if you feel it should be deleted you need to list it at WP:RFD. GB fan 12:17, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
- Ok GB,WP:RFD seems to unfamiliar to me. Could you nominate there and i follow? --AntonTalk 12:21, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

List of members of the American Academy of Arts and Letters Department of Literature
The list of deceased members that you added back to List of members of the American Academy of Arts and Letters Department of Literature is woefully incomplete and therefore misleading. No members between B and U are included, as explained in the edit summary. The two other department lists do not include deceased members at all. If you wish to keep the list you should consider expanding it to include all deceased members, and adding a similar list to the two sister articles. Also, the external link that you added back does not go where it says it does. This is also misleading to readers. 72.251.70.248 (talk) 18:35, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
- We could improve/expand it, and it is not nice to simply blank/remove someone's work, or discus on the talk page. --AntonTalk 05:10, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying. If you want to expand the list, that's great. It's a big job, though. I'm not sure if you realize there are many hundreds of deceased members. In the meantime, I'll add an "incomplete list" template so people aren't deceived as I was at first glance. I must respectfully disagree, however, that removing someone's work is "not nice", especially when an edit summary is used. It's part of the normal editing process to improve the encyclopedia. I'll go so far as to suggest that an edit summary simply saying "blanking" with no further explanation is closer to being not nice. It makes it seem as if one is not assuming good faith. Of course I do agree that controversial edits should be discussed on a talk page, which is why I came here, but at the time my edit seemed entirely uncontroversial to me. As to the external link, I still think it's better to link straight to the list of deceased members than to the organization's home page, although I can't figure out how to link directly to just Department of Literature members. Perhaps you can. 72.251.70.74 (talk) 15:18, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
Rollback and reviewer userirghts granted
Hello AntanO. Your account has been granted the "rollback" and "reviewer" user rights. These user rights allow you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes and quickly revert the edits of other users.
- Please keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin).
- The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection enabled is located at Special:StablePages. You may find the following pages useful to review:
- Wikipedia:Reviewing, the guideline on reviewing.
- Wikipedia:Pending changes, the summary of the use of pending changes.
- Wikipedia:Protection policy#Pending changes protection, the policy determining which pages can be given pending changes protection by administrators.
Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of reviewer or rollback. If you no longer want either of these user rights, contact me and I'll remove it, alternatively you can leave a request on the administrators' noticeboard. Happy editing! The place to report copyright problems with images is here: Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files. I'm away from home this week, and not able to address the situation quickly. Given the image description, it is possible that the image's uploader was given the rights to the image by the subject, rights which the uploader then released into the public domain. I agree that it seems more likely that the uploader was merely given a photo, and that the uploader misunderstands the principles of copyright law. In any case, the uploader should be asked for clarification. Best wishes, Xoloz (talk) 14:33, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

The article Flag of Pandya has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Isn't Noteable Enough For Wikipedia Please read WP:GNG
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Dudel250 (talk) 06:51, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

Moving pages
For your information this is a recent post I placed on Blackknight12's talk page in respect to some recent moves that have been made to Sri Lankan fort articles:
- I noted that you have recently moved a number of pages relating to Sri Lanka forts. As per WP:NCCAPS the second or subsequent words in an article's title should not be captialised unless the title is a proper noun in almost all the cases fort is a common noun not a proper noun. (i.e. Arippu Fort should be Arippu fort). I am happy to stand corrected if necessary but I think you'll find that this is the correct application of the Wikipedia naming conventions. Could you therefore please revert all those recent moves that you have made to reflect the above. Dan arndt (talk) 04:42, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

I left the page to see others opinions, and saw you marked it tobe deleted, as I did. I thought it may be interesting to know, if that person starts to debate with you. Dan Koehl (talk) 04:54, 26 November 2014 (UTC)
- I've also come across this article and I have to agree that our speedy deletion criteria do not include articles being written in another language than English as a reason to delete them. There is consensus that such pages should be tagged with {{not english}} and listed at Pages needing translation. If there is no progress in translation after two weeks, the article will be prodded and eventually deleted. De728631 (talk) 16:32, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note De728631. And, I am wondering whether our article titles policy & WP:ENGLISH accept non-English title for such kind of articles. --AntonTalk 18:26, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
- These pages are moved to an equivalent English title or a transliterated title (in case of names) upon translation. Usually we leave a redirect from the non-English script but personally I don't see a point in these redirects. De728631 (talk) 20:47, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

National Symbols
I would suggest that we use National symbols of the Philippines as a template for what is missing in the article, particularly legislatively how a symbol is formally enacted - that then leads to what is official and what is unoffical. Dan arndt (talk) 09:37, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
I noticed that you had removed the tags I had added to the article, since my reason for adding the tags was not clear to you. I have now re-added the tags along with a brief explanation of the article talk-page; please take a look and let me know if you have any questions.
I have also removed the images of the purported Chola and Pandya flag that you re-added to the Flag of Chola and Flag of Pandya pages since there is no indication that the shape, design, colours etc in the images match any of the flags used by the ancient dynasties. As far as I can see, these fags, along with many others, were simply designed by one or more wikipedians with no known expertise in the area and fall afoul of wikipedia's no original research policy. To be clear, if these designs are instead based on some illustration in a scholarly volume, and the wikipedians' role is only to convert a scanned image into a svg file format, I would have no problem with their inclusion. But I have seen to evidence of this being the case. If you wish we can discuss the issue on the India noticeboard or the relevant discussion board. (Also pinging @Sitush:, with whom I have discussed this issue earlier) Cheeers. Abecedare (talk) 20:18, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
- If you place tag, you should explain in the talk page, but you didn't. Do you say there is no place for illustration work at Wiki? I am not interested to discuss with India noticeboard--AntonTalk 03:16, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
As per Publicizing an RFC, I plan to advertise the Fictional flags RFC at WT:INB and WP:NORN where editors may have a subject- and issue-specific knowledge respectively. Any suggestions for other venues that it might be useful to advertize at? Abecedare (talk) 23:21, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

I don't know what you are trying to do here. You want to be appreciated and adored, right? I can't do anything about renaming the wrong article and the right article. You can read WP:DR to see how you can compromise besides proposing merger. --George Ho (talk) 03:13, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

- I haven't seen talks from others yet. What about adding a more neutral message and then adding {{rfc}} at top of it per WP:RFC? --George Ho (talk) 03:26, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- FYI, there are hundred on unsolved issues. I am waiting for more than a year for merging SupremeSAT. If you like to adding {{rfc}}, you can do so. --AntonTalk 03:31, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Original research
Please do not add original research to articles, as you did recently at Flags of Tamils. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 12:31, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- I didn't add. Didn't you see the talk page? --AntonTalk 12:46, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
Re: Merger of Articles
Non-admins users can be bold and merge if its obvious the articles should be merged. "Editors should use their discretion to decide whether or not a discussion should occur before spending the time to merge articles." "If the need for a merge is obvious, individual editors can be bold and simply do it." That page isn't even policy, it's consensus, so no there isn't red tape if its obvious they should be merged. Hello32020 (talk) 00:14, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- Have you ever merged two or more articles? Re-redirect is not merge. What do did for imitating as merge was not merge. Btw, do not replicate the discussion here while you discussing at the appropriate page. --AntonTalk 04:19, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
Peer review
Hi, I'm not sure if you have forgotten but one of your peer reviews have already been closed. Wikipedia:Peer review/National symbols of Sri Lanka/archive1 is still open. I have made some comments, maybe you would like to start reviewing the feedback and getting more comments.--Blackknight12 (talk) 08:15, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks Blackknight12 for the note and review there. I was expecting some more feedback there. --AntonTalk 08:29, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

DKY Review of Brock Environmental Center
Hi Anton, Thank you so much for reviewing my new page and providing comments. It took me a little bit to figure out the official citations -- but I got it. I also added two more references for the hook and bolded the page name in the hook. Let me know if you have any other suggestions. Best, Ege3 (talk) 23:08, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
Noticeboards
Hi AntanO. Thanks for your help fighting vandalism. One change though: please don't report vandals at the edit warring noticeboard. Straight vandalism should be reported at WP:AIV. Best, -- Diannaa (talk) 17:35, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
