Notability of Kelly fogwell
[edit]A tag has been placed on Kelly fogwell, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ~Matticus TC 11:54, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
The Hurricane Kid
[edit]"The Hurricane Kid" is not part of the WTLV/WJXX news team. I completely understand that you were featured on First Coast News at 6 recently. However, that does not qualify your name to be a part of the list of anchors and reporters. Hope that clears things up. Jaxfl 11:59, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Paige kelton, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.cbs47.com/content/bios/story.aspx?content_id=acdae3ee-d366-4982-8ee7-f55c88c65d63. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 15:17, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Copyright problem: Paige kelton
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Paige kelton, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.cbs47.com/content/bios/story.aspx?content_id=acdae3ee-d366-4982-8ee7-f55c88c65d63, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Paige kelton and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Paige kelton with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Paige kelton.
It is also important that the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and that it follows Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at Talk:Paige kelton/Temp. Leave a note at Talk:Paige kelton saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Image copyright problem with Image:Nicknearcameras.jpeg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Nicknearcameras.jpeg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 01:04, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Nickcameras.jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Nickcameras.jpeg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Duplicate images uploaded
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Nickcameras.jpeg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Nicknearcameras.jpeg. The copy called Image:Nicknearcameras.jpeg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 01:14, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Nickcameras.jpeg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Nickcameras.jpeg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:56, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Joy purdy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per speedy deletion criterion A7.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Tim Deegan ask tim.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Tim Deegan ask tim.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:11, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:SeminoleBridgeSM.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:SeminoleBridgeSM.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. Replaceable fair use Image:Markspain.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Markspain.jpg.
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 16:34, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (File:Shannonogdenryanduffsplitscreen.png)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Shannonogdenryanduffsplitscreen.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 21:13, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

If a complete stranger who, by bizarre coincidence, is interested in the same topic that you are interested in has access to this account, then it should remain blocked to prevent that person from making more attacks from this account. FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:26, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

Negative, it was not a complete stranger. I didn't say that. I believe this occurred during a one time remote support session in which someone had control of my computer.

Why is that implausible? I'm telling you what really happened. I have no reason harass Tammie Souza.

It's simply not believable, though certainly it's the first time I've heard a support person blamed rather than a little brother or an annoying friend. --jpgordon::==( o ) 03:18, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

- During that "one time remote support session," you didn't notice the tech support person use your browser to visit Wikipedia, access your contribution log, pick something you had previously edited, and make an edit in the exact style of your first edit there? (Admin-only links) —DoRD (talk) 03:11, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
{{unblock|No I did not notice until I confronted this person when I was blocked from editing. This person will openly admit this occurred and I can provide contact information or whatever you need. It is a person that this individual and I both know of. It just bothers me I'm being accused of something I would never do, that's all. I try to provide accurate information to television and personalities and this certainly upsets me that my account was used for such purposes. But, I understand that you have a job to do and I will respect whatever final decision you make.}}
- Look, you're not going to find an admin naïve enough to unblock using this excuse. As suggested in the block notice above, you might want to read this before posting another unblock request. Repeating this nonsense again will result in the revocation of your ability to edit even this page. —DoRD (talk) 04:39, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

Request reason:
I'm not trying to take advantage of anyone. I can't give you any more than the truth, which is what I stated previously. As you can see that was an outlying event, and you can also see all of my previous edits have added valuable information to Jacksonville television. I will do everything in my power to prevent such an incident from occurring again, but that's all I can really say. I apologize my account was used by someone for such misdeeds, but I will again assure you that the edit in question was not posted by "me." I will also again assure you that I have no reason to harass Ms. Souza in any way. You can also look and see that I have a history of removing edit attacks on other television personalities. Please let me know if you need to know anything else.
Decline reason:
I would have accepted "I was drunk and acting stupid for my buddies", or even "look, I was trying to get into Phi Kappa something, and this was my initiation", but no ...blame it on the guy from India who works for Dell or HP or even eMachines. Of course, they can not do that kind of thing in the background while you're watching, can they. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 19:19, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

Request reason:
I'm not going to lie about it, so I decided to tell the truth, no matter how absurd you think it may be. I never said it was an employee of a particular company or particular racial background. It was not an official employee of a computer company, it was a friend of mine doing the remote support. I did indeed step away from the computer and did not witness the incident, or I would have reverted it and prevented it from occurring. I take full responsibility for not properly securing my own accounts while away from my computer. What bothers me the most is that I'm accused and no one will even acknowledge my response with a straight mind. I'm not a hurtful person, so I would never have harassed Ms. Souza in that manner. I'm just so confused at this point.
Decline reason:
Your story is highly implausible, as noted above. GlassCobra 20:02, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

- I find your explanation somewhat believable, as the tone of the edit was totally uncharacteristic. Your previous note on that user page in November was friendly and your account made no other edits on February 4th. You also edit under what appears to be your real name, so you would be aware of the potential consequences of such an edit. However, I am concerned that your account is compromised, which makes me reluctant to unblock. I would like to open a thread on WP:AN/I to have this block reviewed, where I will make the suggestion that if your explanation is found convincing you may begin editing from a new account that this old account would redirect to. However, you may not wish me to pursue this, so I make it your call on whether you'd like me to open a thread at AN/I. Fences&Windows 20:41, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
I think what you have suggested would be acceptable. I appreciate you taking time to look into this matter!
- There was no objection raised, so register a new account and email me to let me know that you've done this. I'll copy over your userpage to the new account, and redirect this account there, with a note on the talk page here that it was compromised. Fences&Windows 23:35, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Actionnewsjax1.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Actionnewsjax1.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 13:28, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

Nomination of Tim Deegan (meteorologist) for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Tim Deegan (meteorologist) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tim Deegan (meteorologist) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Meinnaples (talk) 16:40, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
The file File:Jacksonvilletornado1.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
