Best Kept Secret
Hi AnemoneProjectors.
Thought I'd move the discussion here. In your last edit you said "(again, it still IS an album, and the demos is a claim by Cowell, we can't say they ARE demos. also the quote was wrong as it's from two separate sources.)"
If we can't say they are demos, we can't say it is an album either surely? It's one side's words against another's. And given they're claiming one of the tracks is a duet with someone Leona hadn't even met before X-Factor Series 3 started Robert Allen (Track 4. "Private Party" featuring Robert Allen) and Leona had no contact with UEG after starting X-Factor it suggests that they're taking demo vocals and arranging them to their needs. It's definitely not finished songs.
Also is there any evidence that it was ever released? If there is no evidence it was released (and all we seem to have is some newspaper PR by Barry Bee and UEG, the contents of which are disputed) does it even fall within the remit of Wikipedia as a full album?
I could possibly understand if the controversy was mentioned as a sidenote to Leona's page, but there's far too much controversy to even suggest that it exists as an entity to give it a page of its own.
I hope you can see where I'm coming from on this.
cheers, R77 Leipzigger98 01:28, 7 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rushian77 (talk • contribs)
- Hi there. Well, we have to say it is an album because some people have downloaded it, only when something manages to destroy every copy can we use past tense. I've seen on forums that it was actually available to download from Juno for a short while, but a forum isn't a reliable source. It's an album because "an album is a collection of related audio or music tracks distributed to the public" which is true in this case. I see your point about Robert Allen, and you're probably right that they are demo vocals, but we can only say Cowell claims they're demos, we can't say they are demos without absolute proof from a reliable source. I did request deletion for the article because I wasn't so sure about it after a while, but consensus was to keep it as it was well referenced! However I don't see any problem with merging and redirecting it back to Leona Lewis. There's already a paragraph about it there anyway. anemone
│projectors 13:53, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- My main beef would be do we really know it was available from Juno, or was that Barry Bee/UEG posting that it was? I know on Digital Spy for instance there were a couple of aliases from the same IP addy which were advertising its forthcoming release and badmouthing Spirit until they were banned. Have we got anyway of referencing its release which proves it was distributed, even if from a reliable poster on a forum? If we can't prove it was distributed, it no longer becomes an album ;)
- cheers Leipzigger98 (talk) 17:25, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'm a member of leonalewisfansite.co.uk, my information came from the forums there. Anyway I merged the entire article into Leona Lewis after my first reply and I'll even remove the bit about it being released seeing as we don't have a reliable source for it, and I'll remove it from the infobox and discography section too. anemone

User: Gassyguy
I noticed you said you are "watching" gassyguy's userpage for automated messages. He has two images that are slated for deletion due to a lack of a fair use rationale, so I made an attempt to follow the instructions to keep them. I'm not sure I have done this correctly, so if you are watching his stuff (I assume that's what you meant by watching) would you be so kind as to make sure I did so properly? Thank you for your time. 64.230.43.189 (talk) 22:04, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. Actually I forgot that GassyGuy wasn't around until a recent edit to his talk page, so I hadn't checked the images. You did a good job, but one of them was already fixed by someone else so you didn't need to add a rationale - I've reverted you on that one. The other one was perfect, but you left in the invalid rationale template so I've removed that. :) anemone

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Best Kept Secret (Leona Lewis album).jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Best Kept Secret (Leona Lewis album).jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Lucky You!
Hi there, I wonder if I could grab your expertise. I've been working on Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, which you might know started its seventh series yesterday. One of the main characters, Jonny, has been written out but his section in List of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps characters refers to events going way back to the beginning. Another user wants to move his section into a new "Former characters" section, and I am resisting, on the basis that there are few characters in the series, he is central to it, and it makes no sense to me to have a separate section considering that this will probably be the last series anyway. I see Eastenders characters get moved into a complete new article, but "Two Pints" is a lot smaller in scope. Having failed to find any guidelines for this, would you mind letting me have your opinion? Thanks. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 05:47, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, my opinion is that he doesn't need to be moved to a new section, as he's still a main character, even if he's not in episodes being aired at the moment. So keep him where he is. anemone

Just a short reply for the message at Talk:Ronnie Mitchell/Sandbox. I think that only applies in "user" space. I think if it's a test it should not be in main article space. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:SmileLilyAllen.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:SmileLilyAllen.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:46, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

- First if all, if you are the subject of the article, you should read Wikipedia:Autobiography and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. As for the problems with the article, a few examples are the lack of sources (WP:V), "He recently collaborated with two of the UK's finest Rappers" is a personal point of view, as is "Two high profile music channels" amongst other things. "His total viewing audience, so far, exceeds over 100 million viewers in the UK alone." makes it sound as though people watched the shows simply because he was on them. Basically, the whole article needs sourcing and rewriting. anemone

Hi again,
If you have the time going to all the different pages on Wikipedia, perhaps you could spend a few minutes editing mine to make it unbiased. Some things that I might consider unbiased, are in fact, biased. I value your input, as all I want is to have my page on Wikipedia without any problems.
Then any statements outstanding which need sourcing, I will put in reputable sources from the National and local press, as I have hundreds of these to back them up.
I look forward to your input,
Best Wishes,

Regarding your reverting my edit to Autofellatio
I believe we may have a misunderstanding of what the term "blank edit" means as the way you wrote your edit summary and the very fact that you felt like making that edit seems to indicate that you think I had vandalized the page.
However, according to my understanding (though now I can't find the page I found this information on), the definition of a "blank edit" (as opposed to "blanking a page") means that the edit I made I had no actual effect on the content of the page. The reason I made the edit was to provide a better edit summary than I had before.. I checked the revision page and it didn't look like my edit affected anything. Could you please explain your intention in reverting that edit to me?
EDIT: Oh wait.. I see now. There was some text at the bottom added.. That's odd. I don't know how that got there. I must have pressed one of the wiki markup buttons by accident.. I swear that wasn't intentional.. I did preview the page before I pressed the Save Page button.. It's really odd. Repku (talk) 02:23, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah normally I wouldn't revert a blank edit as I have made them myself sometimes just to sort out an edit summary... I guess you pressed the redirect icon, which is why I undid your "blank edit" :) I guess I should have explained with an edit summary myself! anemone

The ratio of correct edits to incorrect is pretty poor (as I'm sure you know). Why can't the IP address be blocked? I haven't followed the case, but sure seems like it's crying out for something more than just accepting it. Maybe someone would mentor the guy. Tvoz |talk 21:59, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Mexican Hot 100
Hi! I see you flagged this as a potential hoax. I'm reasonably sure that User:Password16, who created it, is serial hoaxer User:Maneisis returned under another account - see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive335#Dubious edits by User:Maneisis for my previous investigations of his long-term hoax edits. Password16 seems to be editing on the same topics, showing the same patterns of behaviour, and the same complete refusal to ever discuss anything on any talk page. --Stormie (talk) 10:24, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

You may be interested in editing articles related to Leona Lewis. I just find find her and Kelly Clarkson both released a same-titled single called "A Moment like This", but the original article A Moment like This is just describing the single of Kelly Clarkson. So I make a disambig page and create the new article A Moment like This (Leona Lewis Single). But I'm not familiar with Leona Lewis's discography, so the new article contains almost no content. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:TheFeeling-FillMyLittleWorld7Inch.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:TheFeeling-FillMyLittleWorld7Inch.jpg.
Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:38, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed that you have dealt with a number of the socks of the above banned user. I wonder if User:Worcestershire'man might be another. They have edited the same articles to insert the same information, and appear to not be new to wikipedia in their level of expertise. I don't really know how to deal with these sorts of things, so I wonder if you could give your thoughts. Thanks, Benea (talk) 15:26, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

│projectors 15:41, 19 February 2008 (UTC)- I know what you mean. User:William.JHowes, one of his puppets edited Denise Wicks and was reverted, then User:Worcestershire'man comes in, replaces the information and adds a 'do not remove' tag. Given that the puppet master has previously indicated a connection with Worcestershire makes it I think beyond reasonable doubt. The two also edited Solway Harvester within a day of each other, which is where I ran into him. I assumed that he was a newbie editor and didn't understand how the templates worked, then didn't know how or why he should talk about it, but it now seems like its disruptive editing. Re: Genres
Hi, is there any significance in the order of genres listed in articles? Specifically Leona Lewis and her related pages. They're being swapped about practically daily. Just curious. anemone│projectors 00:13, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Character page merge request
May I request that you merge the Jo Stiles and Jo Sugden articles together to retain the editing history from the Jo Stiles one? Given her recent surname change, a new article has been made and the old one redirected, but I know wiki standard is usually to move to article to retain its history. I know you're more involved in editing on the eastenders articles, but given your input in soap-articles generally, I thought this may not be too much of a problem? Cheers. EastEnders on hold (GA sweep)
I have reassessed this article as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Project quality task force. We are currently revisiting all listed Good articles in an effort to ensure that they continue to meet the Good article criteria.
In reviewing the article, I came across some issues that may need to be addressed; I have left a detailed summary on the article's talk page. As a result I have put EastEnders's GA status on hold. This will remain in place for a week or so before a final decision is taken as to the article's status.
I've left this notice here because, from the article history, you have been a significant contributor. If you no longer edit this article, please accept my apologies and feel free to disregard this message ;)

- The spelling of his name either keeps getting changed to Kieran or people keep changing his last name to O'Dowd. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 11:04, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- I've checked every edit for this month - the article was originally spelled Kieran, then it was corrected and since then it's been changed to O'Dowd once. I'm not going to protect it for one incorrect change. However, I will keep it on my watchlist for a while to make sure. anemone

Dashes
What's the difference between all the dashes and when should they be used? The only one I have on my keyboard is this one: - Thanks. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 22:18, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- WP:DASH has all the answers. Basically, the en dash (–) is for linking dates, but if there's only one date (like in a character who hasn't left yet), you use the em dash (—). Below the edit box you should see "Insert: – — … ° ≈ ≠ ≤ ≥ ± − × ÷ ← → · §" and lots more besides. Clicking on the symbol you want will insert it into the edit box at the point where the cursor is. anemone

Leona Lewis
Hi,
Thanks for your messages.
The Leona article is chock full of useless, excessive material that really belongs in the pages of magazines such as Heat and NOT in Wikipedia.
Information relating to the type of dog she owns, the names of her siblings, etc. are wholly unimportant.
Please don't fill Wikipedia with fanboy trivia.
You should stick to SIGNIFICANT events, not useless information about wearing a dress or switching on street lights.
She's a SINGER and NOT the second coming of Christ.
Please keep the article concise and tidy in future.

The Gregory Triplets
Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article The Gregory Triplets, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 01:00, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Could you look at something for me?
I was going to handle this myself, but I bet you know more about the image policies than I do. You had tagged 3 images uploaded by User:Holiday56 as being replaceable: Image:Carly Smithson.jpg, Image:David Cook.jpg and Image:Kristy Lee Cook.jpg. Holiday56 changed the replaceable field to say that the pictures aren't replaceable because the event is over. Well the problem is that nothing in the policy states that the images have to be from the same event. Also, we have several free pictures on the site that come from the same event (Image:ChikezieEze.jpg, Image:DavidHernandez.jpg and 6 others). And you know they can't be the only ones that exist. Anyway. Could you take a look? I admit that I could be wrong, but I don't think I am. :) --WoohookittyWoohoo! 11:28, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:A Moment like This (Leona).jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:A Moment like This (Leona).jpg.
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:24, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi
I notice from the history that you have protected the Gareth Gates page and I was wondering if you could remove that protection in order for me to update Gareth's page on his behalf. If you could let me know about this ASAP I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance

Walk on By/Walk On By
I left a message on the talk page for "Walk on By", but there's been no response, so I'll leave a message here...
Since the word "on" is not used as a preposition in this title (i.e., what is a "by" and how does one walk on it?), shouldn't it properly be "Walk On By"? I moved this page last year, and it appears that you moved it back. Dewelar (talk) 19:21, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Typo redirect Template:Emmerdale character 2/doc
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Template:Emmerdale character 2/doc, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Template:Emmerdale character 2/doc is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Template:Emmerdale character 2/doc, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:Bleeding Love (video).jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Bleeding Love (video).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 15:08, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
