[edit]Connection with The Bengal Club?
[edit]Hi. Just a heads up that you need to clarify your connection with Bengal Club. Better to do it sooner rather than later if there is one (see WP:COI).--RegentsPark (comment) 15:47, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

— Bilorv (talk) 21:48, 24 October 2021 (UTC)- Thanks for your research! I've renamed the article "Liverpool versus Calcutta, 1880" for simplicity and consistency with other article titles. Let me know what you think about my comment here over possible inconsistency regarding the first game's final position and outcome. — Bilorv (talk) 21:50, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Seemabadhha scene at CSC.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Seemabadhha scene at CSC.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 07:30, 21 November 2021 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:2 men and a beer.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:2 men and a beer.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:03, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:Hindusthan Peters.png
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Hindusthan Peters.png. However, it is currently missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 16:35, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
Non-free rationale for File:Hindusthan Peters.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Hindusthan Peters.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 00:16, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
Re: The Bengal Club
[edit]Thank you for your talk page message about this article. First, you may want to review Wikipedia guidelines/policies about reliable sources and original research. Blogs are usually not classified as reliable, even if their content is sometimes accurate and high quality, thus Wikipedia may try to screen out "blogspot" links as sources. Original research covers conclusions drawn that are not directly indicated by the source. So in the case of these sentences from The Bengal Club:
1. Some websites thus erroneously state that the Bengal United Service Club was the predecessor of the Bengal Club. [citation needed]
- Not sure which websites are involved (other than the earlier version of the WP article), and the issue is mentioned in the article's talk page, and already corrected in the article. So it may be best to omit this sentence, and perhaps add clarity that BUSC has no connection with TBC.
2. Some decades later, the club installed a portrait of Dwarakanath Tagore. [citation needed]
- Looking at the info, it seems obvious a portrait was installed, although the sentence leads to questions as to when or at what event this happened. Since there is already an image of the portrait in the article, it may be better to omit the sentence as redundant unless a source can be found with additional detail about the portrait.
Hope this helps explain the issues. Dl2000 (talk) 14:59, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
- You can delete the sentences from the article as you propose. The article talk page can be used to identify outstanding issues such as any citation needs. Dl2000 (talk) 15:12, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
