If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Survival Island (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Greeting Anarchyte!

Just to inform you, since you are an administrator here on Wikipedia, I was wondering if you could suppress my ip address on the view histories of these following wikipedia pages:

(Redacted)

The IP address I wish for you to remove from all of these pages is (Redacted). Parchokhalq (talk) 19:22, 2 February 2024 (UTC)

@Parchokhalq: Done. In the future, please email me directly or use the oversight email address to request suppression as it means you do not need to post private information on talk pages. Anarchyte (talk) 07:09, 3 February 2024 (UTC)

Filmography table

Syed Sohel Ryan has been created many times and deleted. He has starred in at least four films as lead role (Lucky Lakshman (2022), Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu (2023), Mr. Pregnant (2023) and Bootcut Balaraju (2024)). He meets WP:NACTOR so I want to make a draft and put it through Articles for Creation. I don't care about the prose of the past articles at all but can you include the filmography table? The reason for that his credited names include Rahul (Music Magic), Munna (Eureka), etc. so it is hard to find what all films he acted in. DareshMohan (talk) 20:53, 4 February 2024 (UTC)

I'm not sure what your request is. Anarchyte (talk) 08:11, 5 February 2024 (UTC)

RFA2024 update: no longer accepting new proposals in phase I

Hey there! This is to let you know that phase I of the 2024 requests for adminship (RfA) review is now no longer accepting new proposals. Lots of proposals remain open for discussion, and the current round of review looks to be on a good track towards making significant progress towards improving RfA's structure and environment. I'd like to give my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has given us their idea for change to make RfA better, and the same to everyone who has given the necessary feedback to improve those ideas. The following proposals remain open for discussion:

  • Proposal 2, initiated by HouseBlaster, provides for the addition of a text box at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship reminding all editors of our policies and enforcement mechanisms around decorum.
  • Proposals 3 and 3b, initiated by Barkeep49 and Usedtobecool, respectively, provide for trials of discussion-only periods at RfA. The first would add three extra discussion-only days to the beginning, while the second would convert the first two days to discussion-only.
  • Proposal 5, initiated by SilkTork, provides for a trial of RfAs without threaded discussion in the voting sections.
  • Proposals 6c and 6d, initiated by BilledMammal, provide for allowing users to be selected as provisional admins for a limited time through various concrete selection criteria and smaller-scale vetting.
  • Proposal 7, initiated by Lee Vilenski, provides for the "General discussion" section being broken up with section headings.
  • Proposal 9b, initiated by Reaper Eternal, provides for the requirement that allegations of policy violation be substantiated with appropriate links to where the alleged misconduct occured.
  • Proposals 12c, 21, and 21b, initiated by City of Silver, Ritchie333, and HouseBlaster, respectively, provide for reducing the discretionary zone, which currently extends from 65% to 75%. The first would reduce it 65%–70%, the second would reduce it to 50%–66%, and the third would reduce it to 60%–70%.
  • Proposal 13, initiated by Novem Lingaue, provides for periodic, privately balloted admin elections.
  • Proposal 14, initiated by Kusma, provides for the creation of some minimum suffrage requirements to cast a vote.
  • Proposals 16 and 16c, initiated by Thebiguglyalien and Soni, respectively, provide for community-based admin desysop procedures. 16 would desysop where consensus is established in favor at the administrators' noticeboard; 16c would allow a petition to force reconfirmation.
  • Proposal 16e, initiated by BilledMammal, would extend the recall procedures of 16 to bureaucrats.
  • Proposal 17, initiated by SchroCat, provides for "on-call" admins and 'crats to monitor RfAs for decorum.
  • Proposal 18, initiated by theleekycauldron, provides for lowering the RfB target from 85% to 75%.
  • Proposal 24, initiated by SportingFlyer, provides for a more robust alternate version of the optional candidate poll.
  • Proposal 25, initiated by Femke, provides for the requirement that nominees be extended-confirmed in addition to their nominators.
  • Proposal 27, initiated by WereSpielChequers, provides for the creation of a training course for admin hopefuls, as well as periodic retraining to keep admins from drifting out of sync with community norms.
  • Proposal 28, initiated by HouseBlaster, tightens restrictions on multi-part questions.

To read proposals that were closed as unsuccessful, please see Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/2024 review/Phase I/Closed proposals. You are cordially invited once again to participate in the open discussions; when phase I ends, phase II will review the outcomes of trial proposals and refine the implementation details of other proposals. Another notification will be sent out when this phase begins, likely with the first successful close of a major proposal. Happy editing! theleekycauldron (talk • she/her), via:

Understanging rollbacks on wikipedia

Hi Anarchyte, I'm new to wikipedia as a contributor and don't know and understand much of how it works. I hope you are the right person and this is a right place to write my concern since I didn't find any other way to convey my thoughts to you. I recently modified one page named Trading Card with one useful resource citing which has been rolled back by use 'count count'. I contributed that only because I found that external source pretty useful for trading card enthusiasts like me and it seemed to have well-formatted content, nothing else. Could you please review the matter?

I see you are an administrator for english pages for quite long and I will accept your judgments over this matter. Please let me know how I was wrong here.

Thanks, Abhijeet in (talk) 20:34, 21 April 2024 (UTC) @Anarchyte:

Hi Abhijeet in, thanks for your question. Your edit was reverted because it appeared to be spam, which is because as a new user, the majority of your edits have been to introduce links to an external website. Spam is disallowed on Wikipedia and is reverted when suspected. I took a look at the trading card article more broadly and actually removed the reference to the other websites too, because I felt it was unnecessary to provide any examples. This way no one website is given advertising by the article. Anarchyte (talk) 11:19, 22 April 2024 (UTC)

Recovering deleted page

Hello,

I submitted my first contribution and it was deleted today. Can you please copy the article "Professor Rami Qahwaji" to my user space please so I can improve it further as per Wikipedia guidelines? I am not paid to do this work. Many thanks Rsr19721 (talk) 23:10, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

Hi Rsr19721. Your draft was deleted as being promotional, and having read it, I agree with the deleting admin. I recommend you read WP:COI and WP:NBIO, and start from scratch, avoiding any overly promotional prose. Anarchyte (talk) 10:38, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
Hello,
Many thanks for getting back to me. Can you please help me recover this page and add it to my user page, so I can remove the overly promotional prose. This is my first time and I honestly appreciate the feedback and the experience.
Many thanks
Rsr19721 (talk) 10:41, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
Unfortunately the entire article is promotional. There would be nothing to save. I will email you a copy of the article, but please note that if you just recreate it as-is, it will be deleted again. Anarchyte (talk) 11:18, 5 July 2024 (UTC)

Conflicting reviews on wikipedia

Hello,

When I added some useful links, those got undone with given reason "SPAM". How come Baseball Cards, Trading Card got chasingmajors, price guides (which have very low DA anyway and no other backlinks than wikipedia itself) under external links and those are not spams now? Just trying to understand, what's the deal here at wikipedia. Abhijeet in (talk) 21:17, 1 August 2024 (UTC)

Hi Abhijeet in. Just because a link is on one page doesn't mean that it's a) supposed to be there or b) allowed on another page. Price guides should not be on Wikipedia anywhere. Anarchyte (talk) 06:54, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
Hi Anarchyte, I was just relating both the cases. a) These websites are of very low DA (even lower than the ones I submitted) with almost no other backlinks except wikipedia and the replicas. b) If you check with more attention, my referred sites were not "price guides" but "checklists guide", there's a huge difference I believe.
I think I somewhat understand the wikipedia way, it's not about how useful content or source you can contribute, it's more about how old and long profile you have before you try to do so. Abhijeet in (talk) 14:53, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
The links have now been removed from the other two pages now. Please see WP:NOTGUIDE. I fail to see how adding or removing links correlates with account age, but I can assure you there is no relation. Anarchyte (talk) 07:10, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
The same listing is on Hockey card page as well. Abhijeet in (talk) 23:03, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
