The Muppets to be Protected or semi-protected

Can you Either protect or semi-protect The Muppets due to numerous of Unconstructive, and Vandalism-identified edits? LooneyTraceYT (Where it never goes out of stylecontribs) 18:19, 13 April 2021 (UTC)

Given it a few days of semi. Anarchyte (talkwork) 03:39, 14 April 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for doing that Anarchyte - and for reporting it LooneyTraceYT. What has the world come to - time was the Muppets only needed protection from Crazy Harry. MarnetteD|Talk 04:19, 14 April 2021 (UTC)

Urgent assistance with a page move please

Hello. I was searching for an admin online for some urgent assistance please. I was trying to move European Super League Company, S.L. to The Super League (association football) but I made a mistake and accidentally moved the talk page only. Would you be able to blank the Super League redirect and move the Company article over please? The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 07:00, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

@The C of E: Apologies for the delay. Has this been resolved in my absence? Both links go to the same place now. Anarchyte (talkwork) 09:34, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
It has been sorted now. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 10:16, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

British Chinese CopyVio

Hi Anarchyte! As you can see, I have been trying to resolve another copyvio on the British Chinese page, based on a book that seems to be copied. I think it is in the history which Ymblanter informs me was hidden by yourself. Do you think it is fine for me to simply remove the copyvio-revdel template from the main article? --Caorongjin (talk) 19:06, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

@Caorongjin: We got rid of the bulk of the edits that included the addition of the copyrighted material. The discussion on AN showed that anything more would be unnecessary, so yes, I've gone ahead and removed the tag. Anarchyte (talkwork) 14:25, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

Draft:Barbara Lavernos refund

Hello, I would please need your support in helping me recover the text of a deleted article (Draft:Barbara Lavernos), which was deleted by TheChronium following a speedy deletion nomination by CommanderWaterford. While I am related to the subject of the article, I believe the article is relevant as its subject is a notable business leader in the country. I would therefore like to to draft a revised version of the article - toning down the perceived promotional tone - and then ask an editor to proofread it before resubmission. Many thanks upfront for your support. Rammoza (talk) 21:51, 27 April 2021 (UTC) --Rammoza (talk) 21:51, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

@Rammoza You already filed a request for undeletion at the correct place to do so, please be patient until your request will be processed. In the meantime I suggest reading the Infos for Undisclosed Paid Editors I left on your talk page. CommanderWaterford (talk) 22:05, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

My confusing email

Hello. I wrote you a confusing email. What I meant was this: The next time you or another sysop will scan my undos and notice some errors will there be a tolerance? I was wondering because after the refused request I made about 60 undos and 3 or 4 mistakes. Please discard the mail Dr Salvus 21:05, 1 May 2021 (UTC)

I don't see a reason why there would. Every editor is held to the same standard. Anarchyte (talkwork) 10:51, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
Okay, I will explain myself better. I meant this: To have rollbacker rights, a user must not have made any mistakes? LDr Salvus 12:12, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
No, not necessarily. Mistakes are human and everyone makes them, you just need to make as few as possible and have those you do make be inconsequential (i.e. you don't revert good faith edits under the summary of "vandalism"). However, as I alluded to in my emails, you can't be editing for the sole goal of getting rollback rights. That's hat collecting. Just enjoy your time here and continue to learn the ropes and the advanced permissions will be granted when the time is right. Anarchyte (talkwork) 13:16, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi Anarchyte, I saw Puteri Indonesia page being vandalized by this Filipino user HiChrisBoyleHere, as he did on 1, 2, 3 appeared to be disruptive and grammatically incorrect. he kept on acting like he is fixing grammar, but after I saw what he did is purposely for vandalism only account by deleting a tons of images on gallery section. @Lukewon: I did not realize I deleted the pictures (somebody else did but I reverted it unintentionally). If you wish to add the pictures back, please copy-edit and do not forget to give reliable source(s), instead of deleting and reverting the whole thing. Thanks.

Request for rollback perm

I've been actively editing for about a month now, and have been fighting a lot of vandalism and have reported a lot of sockpuppetry. I can rollback using Twinkle and RedWarn, but would like to use the rollback permission to use tools such as Huggle and igloo. I made a request at WP:PERM/Rollback, but it still hasn't been accepted. I heard that I can also ask an admin for the permission. Thanks, Zai (💬📝⚡️) 14:04, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

Your edit on Template:F1stat

Hi Anarchyte, please do not update a single statistic only on the Grand Prix template F1stat, it gets done in a full block run of all parameters. Thanks --Aliwal2012 (talk) 21:07, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

@Aliwal2012: I disagree. The single statistic I updated was prevalent in the news after it happened and we don't want Hamilton's article to be outdated for days while we wait for someone to do a full sweep. Anarchyte (talkwork) 04:36, 10 May 2021 (UTC)

Deletion of the Page

Dear, I have recently drafted the page for our President - Dr. Issa Alansari - President of Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University.

As directed I had submitted a conflict of interest to avoid the deletion. Still, It has been deleted. As I am new to Wikipedia, I may not understand the technicalities for creating the page. You could have helped in those rather than deleting the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.51.167.1 (talk) 12:56, 10 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi, the problem is that it was a copyright violation. We can't host other people's work. I've made no comment on the notability of the individual, and there's still a chance that an article could be made on them, you'll just need to start from scratch and following our guide on writing your first article. Request for Rollback

Hello Anarchyte! You may or may not remember, but you previously granted me pending changes reviewer rights. Well as you probably guessed by the topic, I would like to request Rollback rights. I have used the pending changes reviewer permission a lot and want to help in even more ways, and I feel Rollback is the next logical step. Please consider my offer and make the best choice. Have a great day! Link20XX (talk) 02:47, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

@Link20XX: I've given you a month as a trial period. I would like to see less base summary reverts, but I didn't see anything too outrageous. Remember that rollback is only for obvious vandalism, i.e. stuff that anyone would revert. If there's a possibility of confusion, stick to leaving an edit summary with undo. Anarchyte (talkwork) 16:49, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

Deletion of the article

Hi Anarchyte Namaste! I have recently drafted the page of my own company-Softmahal Technologies and it was deleted.

As I am new to Wikipedia, so I may not understand, follow the Wikipedia rules and regulations, it was my fault. Can you please give me access to edit that page and write from the beginning or to create a new page in that name Softmahal Technologies. Please give me chance to add or create new one. Hoping for the positive response.

Thank You. Aashish2021 (talk) 15:51, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

@Aashish2021: Hi, the page was deleted because it was promotional as well as being a copyright violation. We also strongly recommend against writing about your own company or anything you may have a conflict of interest with. You've created the article twice now, first on a now-blocked promotional account and then a day later on this account. Both times you got a notification saying that it "seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company", and for that reason I'm going to have to say no to your request. The page will become open again automatically in November, but make sure that if you do decide to write about yourself, you keep it strictly neutral and within our notability guidelines. Regards, Anarchyte (talkwork) 16:00, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for your reply. Is it possible to open before November? If possible please. From now, i will follow the rules, guidelines. Thank You Anarvhyte. ❤️ Aashish2021 (talk) 10:41, 15 May 2021 (UTC)

No, the page will not be opened before November. Anarchyte (talkwork) 10:56, 15 May 2021 (UTC)

Zarzilla Wiki Help

Hi,

My attempt to write a wiki page for indie game dev Zarzilla has been rejected. Could you offer more specific assistance? The only sources available are the companies own website and listings on Google/App store. Could it be written in a certain way to use these sources? I understand that it can be written in less of a promotional fashion though.

Request for a copy of a deleted article

Hello Anarchyte! Sorry to ask another favor of you, but I have been curious about the possibility of making an article for the Japanese voice actor Yūsuke Shirai, when I noticed he had an article at one point that was deleted via prod. If it is not too much to ask, could you restore the article as a draft or give me a copy of the text? It will probably need cleaning since it was prodded, but I am willing to clean it up. Thanks in advance! Link20XX (talk) 01:01, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

Denied PERM request

Hi,

You denied my Pending changes reviewer request with the note "4 undos this year."

I don't quite understand what that means. Is it about the amount, or was it about their quality?

Thank you for your time and attention! --Karlshammar (talk) 02:21, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

@Karlshammar: PCR is all about counter-vandalism. Having a reliable track record of undos is important. Four is not enough. Anarchyte (talk) 07:18, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
I see. Thanks for the explanation! How many would you usually need to be considered? --Karlshammar (talk) 12:06, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
I usually hope for at least 50 recent (~2 months) reverts. Anarchyte (talk) 12:34, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

Invitation for Functionary consultation 2021

Greetings,

I'm letting you know in advance about a meeting I'd like to invite you to regarding the Universal Code of Conduct and the community's ownership of its future enforcement. I'm still in the process of putting together the details, but I wanted to share the date with you: 27 June, 2021. I do not have a time on this date yet, but I will let you soon. We have created a meta page with basic information. Please take a look at the meta page and sign up your name under the appropriate section.

Thank you for your time.--BAnand (WMF) 02:49, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

Just to curiosity

What do you take into account when analysing a rollback request? Dr Salvus 16:36, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

@Dr Salvus: A variety of factors go into reviewing PERM requests. Overall edit count and the age of the account are the most immediate things I check. If they're too new or don't edit often I'm more inclined to decline, but simply being here for a short period does not exclude someone if they're consistently showing that they're capable. This also relates to people that take extended wikibreaks. I then check their most recent batch of undos and edits with whatever automated tools they may use, usually those in the past 2 months or the last fifty edits, whatever is less. If I see glaring issues in those I look deeper in, but typically if there are multiple recent mistakes, like reverting good faith edits without an edit summary or edit warring in any form I'm erring on the side of declining it. Outside of their contributions, I check block logs and the last couple of months of talk page archives to make sure I haven't missed anything as well as their recently declined requests for that permission (if there are any). Hat collection immediately puts prejudice on the request.
However, with all this said, it just comes down to a simple question: do I trust this user? If I've still got doubts, I decline or ping them for clarification. I rarely give trial periods because I consider them to be a complete waste of time with basic permissions like PCR and RB. If I trust someone to use it for a month, I trust them to use it. Sometimes I give it out for a month out when they tend to edit in contentious topics or areas that don't see "obvious" vandalism in the sense of what rollback is intended for (i.e. I can't look at the edits and go "yep, that's vandalism" because they require a deeper understanding of the topic). When they request an extension, it becomes easier to see how they would use it in their area of work. Trial periods are much more useful for PM or NPR requests.
All admins have their own criteria. That is what I use. Hope it helps. Anarchyte (talk) 08:24, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
I understand now. I had applied precisely because not all sysops have the same criteria and I was hoping to be evaluated by one with less stringent criteria. When I was promoted to reviewer I thought that the next rollbacker request would be a success. I waited a few days to avoid MusikBot writing that I had X rejected requests. I promise that I won't apply for rollbacker until November
I have two questions:
 1. What do I have to do to prove that I understood from those mistakes?
 2. What do I have to do to get 2021-22 Juventus F.C. (women) season moved to manispace
Dr Salvus 11:30, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
@Dr Salvus: For question one, you need to stop asking everyone about getting rollback permissions. No one likes being pestered and admin shopping doesn't help. For question two, the draft is completely blank, except for basic templates. You need to expand it up to at least where its predecessors were when they were created. You made last year's article, surely you can see that the 2021-22 article pales in comparison? Anarchyte (talk) 11:41, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Is Draft:2021–22 Juventus F.C. (women) season ready for mainspace? Dr Salvus 15:29, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

@Dr Salvus: See WP:CRYSTAL. The page is entirely devoid of content. Anarchyte (talk) 15:33, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

just to curiosity: Did you want open a discussion in the WP:ANI about my hat-collecting? However it is not necessary ask a ban since I won't apply for any kind of permission until November and I when I'll be back I won't ask several times as I did in the last five months. Dr Salvus 11:53, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

@Dr Salvus: No need, given you've expressed that you're not going to request anything until November. Anarchyte (talk) 13:06, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

Is hat-collecting apply for permission to use AWB? Dr Salvus 13:54, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

Draft:Rajasthan United FC
I have created this article. you can go through and let me know if any update required
thank you Vplpoonia (talk) 13:38, 6 June 2021 (UTC)
@Vplpoonia: Do you have a conflict of interest? It's still incredibly promotional: The club aims to provide a pathway of progressive growth from the grassroots level to competing at the highest professional level. We believe that Indian Football Standards are rising and we aim at contributing towards it and making of professional players who will go on to represent the country at the highest level. Also, Instagram and Wikipedia are not reliable sources. I've added the article to the AFC system so that you can get additional feedback as you go from other editors. Wrongful Page Deletion

@Anarchyte: :

Hi there, you deleted the page Mansi Surve , much more content to be added, I have a lot of printed newspaper articles on Mansi Surve, how should I cite them? There is no E-paper for the same or any data online. Should I upload photos of printed materials?

Second, if you to this website and search in text box of last name - Surve , you will see Mansi Surve is Category 4 rhythmic Gymnastic International Judge, how to cite this filter? Possible to add screenshot? If not, what's the alternative? --Cyanex (talk) 15:05, 7 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello once again Anarchyte! I recently finished creating Yusuke Shirai from the article you restored for me. As you probably guessed, I want another article restored that was deleted via a prod. The article in question is the article at Zeno Robinson that was deleted via a prod in 2017. Can you restore it to User:Link20XX/Zeno Robinson please? Thanks in advance! Link20XX (talk) 03:30, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

@Link20XX: Done. There were a few other revisions but they weren't worth saving. Anarchyte (talk) 03:51, 11 June 2021 (UTC)

Request for rollback again

Once again, Hello! You are probably tired of me asking you for various things, so I will get straight to the point. A month ago you granted me a 1-month trial of Rollback. It expired today, and I have decided I would like to request to have it back indefinitely. Link20XX (talk) 23:30, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

@Link20XX: I'll be able to have a look some time this week. I'm a little busy at the moment. If you want a quicker response, apply at WP:PERMS/RB. Anarchyte (talk) 04:02, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
Alright, will do. Hope everything goes well for you! Link20XX (talk) 04:04, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Request on 21:07:55, 7 June 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by TheGremlin

Thank you for reviewing the article. I was following the format examples of Asetek and Corsair company articles which did not use prose either, so I'd like to understand why those company pages do not need to use prose yet this one does. Thank you kindly

Furthermore, when reviewing Asetek articles 27 references, more than half do not meet Wikipedia’s requirements: 12 are to Asetek's website & 1 is their annual report (48%), the 1 Slashdot reference is to a forum thread, the Kitguru link is to a Corsair article that only mentions them once, as is the Gigabyte link, and neither of Bloomberg links have Asetek content. At all. 66% of the references do not meet wikipedia guidelines.

Only 3 are to Tech Report, 2 to Gamernexus, 2 I added before are legit and another 2 are the same as I've referenced for the CoolIT company. only 9 references (only 1/3) meet wikipedia guidelines.

Therefore, wikipedia only requires 9 references for the CoolIT article to qualify, and there are far more than that.

So based on wikipedia’s standards, if the CoolIT article does not qualify, neither does Asetek.

From the standard you based your decision on it must be “written in prose”, neither Corsair & Asetek qualify, and need to be redone.

iwanturCAT (talk) 23:58, 7 June 2021 (UTC)

@TheGremlin: I've made no comment on the companies notability, and if any of those awards are real then they likely pass WP:GNG. However, the draft system is designed to allow for incomplete articles that don't meet our standards to be worked on instead of being deleted. As it stands, regardless of the state of other articles, this does not reach a standard of writing that I would be comfortable moving to mainspace for the whole world to see. Anarchyte (talk) 04:03, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
@Anarchyte:

I was provided a better example than I had been using and have tried to change the article from chronological factual to more of a story format to better align with prose. Thank you for the feedback on this.

(I'll try and put this comment in the talk page but the talk page format is not user friendly/intuitive).

MOHAMMAD BIJEH

On this page, he has written the duration of the crimes since March 2003. In Iranian and foreign articles, the duration of the crimes has been set at six months, and the date of birth should be February 7, 1981, but some people return the content. Please include it on the Wikipedia page. سهراب بارسایی (talk) 19:18, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

@سهراب بارسایی: You have to provide a source that verifies your claim, otherwise we cannot include it. Anarchyte (talk) 06:52, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

The page was locked, but no source says it was born in 1982. This was a vandalism of some people before. سهراب بارسایی (talk) 11:33, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

Article has not approved yet.

I had created article for Shanta Nepali, a filmmaker 1 months ago, but still it is not approved. What is the region behind that. Please update me, when will it be approved. Aashish2021 (talk) 10:58, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

@Aashish2021: It won't be approved. It was a copyright violation, which is against our rules. Anarchyte (talk) 12:05, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi Anarchyte, Namaste! Thank you for your quick response. I got the verified contents from the OWNER , so i had created the article. Sorry for the violating the rules. What can I do for the approval? Shall I create new one? It is pride important. Please help me. Thank you. Aashish2021 (talk) 15:43, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

Deleting Revision history

Hi

Can you remove the revision history on a Wiki page? I have recently updated an article about a hotel that is said to be haunted. Having done so, I came to realize that this cannot be backed with facts as it is just stories told. I deleted my notes, they aren't there on the current article. However, they do remain in the history and I can't delete this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.21.45.39 (talk) 11:22, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

We don't delete revision history just because something can't be backed up with sources. You did the right thing by removing it from the article, but unfortunately that's all we can do in this situation. Anarchyte (talk) 15:49, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – July 2021

News and updates for administrators from the past month (June 2021).

Guideline and policy news

 • Consensus has been reached to delete all books in the book namespace. There was rough consensus that the deleted books should still be available on request at WP:REFUND even after the namespace is removed.
 • An RfC is open to discuss the next steps following a trial which automatically applied pending changes to TFAs.

Technical news

 • IP addresses of unregistered users are to be hidden from everyone. There is a rough draft of how IP addresses may be shown to users who need to see them. This currently details allowing administrators, checkusers, stewards and those with a new usergroup to view the full IP address of unregistered users. Editors with at least 500 edits and an account over a year old will be able to see all but the end of the IP address in the proposal. The ability to see the IP addresses hidden behind the mask would be dependent on agreeing to not share the parts of the IP address they can see with those who do not have access to the same information. Accessing part of or the full IP address of a masked editor would also be logged. Comments on the draft are being welcomed at the talk page.

A disambiguation page is not required. The only article with the title has a hatnote to the other use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. do you play video games?

I found you in the Wikipedia administrators willing to provide copies of deleted articles category, and on your userpage it says you brought a Fallout game to featured status. I play Mario, but that got me wondering if you play video games in general, since that's my main hobby. :) 2005-Fan (talk) 16:10, 11 July 2021 (UTC)

@2005-Fan: Well I couldn't really participate in WikiProject Video games if I didn't . Anarchyte (talk) 03:02, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
That's great to hear! I don't know if you know, but Wikibooks now allows gaming strategy guides, so a lot of Wikipedia gaming stuff that's been deleted over the years (including old Wikibooks gaming guides) have been getting a new "official" home (in that it's within a Wikimedia Foundation project). In fact, that's why I asked about the Watt article earlier -- it's been relocated as a subpage of the Paper Mario wikibook. 2005-Fan (talk) 03:08, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

Latest text

What is the latest revision of Watt (video game character) before it became a redirect? Asking because I transwikied the other articles (prior to them becoming redirects) to Wikibooks. 2005-Fan (talk) 19:38, 10 July 2021 (UTC)

@2005-Fan: Here is the content, as of 19:50, 10 July 2005:
Watt is a useful young sparky from the game Paper Mario. Her attacks are able to negate any defense points which an enemy may have. She can also lower the enemy's defense(?) and increase Mario's attack power.
Anarchyte (talk) 11:27, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
Wow that's quite short. Thank you 2005-Fan (talk) 11:29, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
What was the text of Sparky (Nintendo) (paste latest/most complete revision on talk page here). 2005-Fan (talk) 11:30, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
@2005-fan: Here:
Sparkies come in two forms in Super Mario World - Big Sparkies and Little Sparkies. Big Sparkies orbit the platform it is on very slowly, while Little Sparkies orbit it quickly. Cannot be defeated without a Starman. In Paper Mario, Sparkies reappear in the form of a female toddler named Watt. She can light up dark areas, reveal hidden items and can do electric attacks.
Anarchyte (talk) 12:57, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
@Anarchyte: What was the original text for the Sharpea, Torpedo Ted, and Banzai Bill articles? 2005-Fan (talk) 12:40, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
@2005-Fan: Sharpea was always a redirect.
Torpedo Ted: Torpedo Ted is a shark-faced enemy appearing in Soda Lake in Nintendo’s Super Mario World video game. He cannot be defeated but can be avoided during the time it takes for him to be launched. He later appeared in Super Princess Peach.
Banzai Bill: Banzai Bills are slow-moving, colossal bullets, fired from cannons not visible on the screen in Super Mario World video game. Sometimes, a Bullet Bill just isn't enough to take down the Portly Plumbers, so Bowser calls in the big guns. The only thing that really makes them a bigger threat is their size, but in these cases, bigger is better.
Anarchyte (talk) 12:46, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
Thank you, what about Podoboo and Goomboss? 2005-Fan (talk) 13:02, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
@2005-Fan: Podoboo was always a redirect. Goomboss is too long to copy here. You can find it at User:2005-Fan/Goomboss (check the history). Anarchyte (talk) 08:35, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
Thank you (I wasn't expecting Goomboss article to be that long either!). What about Big Bertha (Nintendo character), Ukkiki, and Chief Chilly? 2005-Fan (talk) 12:04, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
These are getting quite crufty. I can see why they were deleted. You can find two of them at User:2005-Fan/Big Bertha (Nintendo character) and User:2005-Fan/Ukkiki. For Chief Chilly, the content was (as of 14 June 2005, at 20:30 by 65.13.23.14): Chief Chilly is the name of a stage boss in the video game Super Mario 64 DS. He is a giant version of a bully, and similarly, he attacks the player by pushing him off the platform into a fast-moving current of slush. His level, Chief Chilly Challenge, is accessible only as Luigi via in the Mirror Room in Princess Peach's Castle. (The same room houses the entrance to Snowman's Land.) To defeat Chief Chilly, the player must push him off the platform by punching. After three hits, he gives the key to unlock Wario. Anarchyte (talk) 13:56, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for them. Yeah for Wikipedia they're crufty, but they could benefit someplace else like like Wikibooks. What was the text of Gooper Blooper (recurring Mario boss)? 2005-Fan (talk) 20:02, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
