- Wikipedia:Pending changes/Request for Comment 2016 closed with no consensus for implementing Pending changes level 2 with new criteria for use.
- Following an RfC, an activity requirement is now in place for bots and bot operators.

Senator Scott Wilk
Hi - thanks for responding so quickly but I don't think I was clear in my help request. I wanted to keep what I'd updated and get back a section that was deleted. So...the page should read like below with an updated chart on current 2016 election. The California's 21st State Senate district election, 2016 was a chart on wikpedia but it didn't copy and paste correctly onto Mr. Wilk's page or this message. New Page Review - newsletter No.2
- A HUGE backlog
We now have 807 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.
The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.
- Second set of eyes
Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.
- Abuse
This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and
- this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
- this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
- This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.
Coordinator election
Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

Hello Amortias,
On this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/241_Pizza
I'm trying to remove this sentence "However, 241 Pizza is mutually exclusive with the American Papa John's chain" as it is not clear. In what way is 241 Pizza mutually exclusive with 241 Pizza?
Thanks.

Hi Amortias, thanks so much for your help with the West Ewell and Ruxley Residents Association page. Could you please help with one more thing? The use of an apostrophe in the page title means that it is no longer canon with the page for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Residents_Associations_of_Epsom_and_Ewell. Also because of the differing unicode settings between UK and US keyboards the type of apostrophe currently used is not reproducible and requires the unicode representation to type and share. Could you please remove the apostrophe? I cannot find a way to do it. Many Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Linguinigenie (talk • contribs) 08:52, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

I am one of the few doctors that specialize in Regenerative Medicine such as stem cell therapy for joint and tendon pain. I am also concussion specialist. These are 2 areas of medicine in which it is rare to find a physician or knowledge on. I believe it is a service to the general public to be informed that a physican such as myself does exist in these specialities. Because of these unique skills, I'm hoping you can allow my profile to remain. If there is anything I can do to improve my chances to be on Wikipedia please let me know. - Hi @Vchopra2005:,
- Wikipedia requires that all pages show how the subject of the article meets its criteria for notability. The page you created does not currently show how it meets those. Alongside this as you've mentioned the article is an autobiography something that Wikipedia strongly advises against. If you wish to have an article about yourself then you should follow the guidance about requesting an article at this page. Amortias (T)(C) 16:44, 18 February 2017 (UTC)

Guild of Copy Editors February 2017 News
Guild of Copy Editors February 2017 News
Hello everyone, and welcome to the February 2017 GOCE newsletter. The Guild has been busy since the last time your coordinators sent out a newsletter! December blitz: This one-week copy-editing blitz ran from 11 through 17 December; the themes were Requests and eliminating the November 2015 backlog. Of the 14 editors who signed up, nine editors completed 29 articles. Barnstars and rollover totals are located here. Thanks to all who took part. January drive: The January drive was a great success. We set out to remove December 2015 and January and February 2016 from our backlog (195 articles), and by 22 January we had cleared those and had to add a third month (March 2016). At the end of the month we had almost cleared out that last month as well, for a total of 180 old articles removed from the backlog! We reduced our overall backlog by 337 articles, to a low of 1,465 articles, our second-lowest month-end total ever. We also handled all of the remaining requests from December 2016. Officially, 19 editors recorded 337 copy edits (over 679,000 words). February blitz: The one-week February blitz, focusing on the remaining March 2016 backlog and January 2017 requests, ran from 12 to 18 February. Seven editors reduced the total in those two backlog segments from 32 to 10 articles, leaving us in good shape going in to the March drive. Coordinator elections for the first half of 2017: In December, coordinators for the first half of 2017 were elected. Jonesey95 stepped aside as lead coordinator, remaining as coordinator and allowing Miniapolis to be the lead, and Tdslk and Corinne returned as coordinators. Thanks to all who participated! Speaking of coordinators, congratulations to Jonesey95 on their well-deserved induction into the Guild of Copy Editors Hall of Fame. The plaque reads: "For dedicated service as lead coordinator (2014, 1 July – 31 December 2015 and all of 2016) and coordinator (1 January – 30 June 2015 and 1 January – 30 June 2017); exceptional template-creation work (considerably streamlining project administration), and their emphasis on keeping the GOCE a drama-free zone." Housekeeping note: We do not send a newsletter before every drive or blitz. To have a better chance of knowing when the next event will start, add the GOCE's message box to your watchlist. Thank you all again for your participation; we wouldn't be able to achieve what we have without you! Cheers from your GOCE coordinators: Miniapolis, Jonesey95, Corinne and Tdslk. To discontinue receiving GOCE newsletters, please remove your name from our mailing list.

Voting for coordinators has now begun HERE and will continue through/to 23:59 UTC Monday 06 March. The coordinators will do their best for for the advancement of the improvement of NPP and AfC and generally keep tracks on the development of those things. Tep boprek G7
I saw you declined the G7 of the blanking because it was an IP editor. I had tagged it that way because if you look at the timestamps between the edits, and the other edits of the IP, it looks like a case of an article creator who had logged out and forgot to sign back in before blanking, and I have seen admin's delete such articles as G7 in the past. If you still feel the revert is best, totally understand, just wanted to explain the tag :) TonyBallioni (talk) 15:23, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

Xavier Rosset page
Hello Amortias,
I was wondering if you could tell me why you deleted my page about Xavier Rosset. I am a college student from the U.S. and my professor is teaching us how to create/edit wikipedia pages and he instructed us to create one based on a list of given topics, I chose to write on Xavier Rosset. Being new to Wikipedia I assume I did something incorrectly, and I wanted to know if you could tell me exactly what it was so I could continue to work on the page and not abandon my work thus far.
Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by MikeWazowski11 (talk • contribs) 00:26, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hi @MikeWazowski11: articles on Wikipedia need to show the subject of the article meets our criteria for notability which is our benchmark for inclusion, looking for Xavier Rosset I could find no evidence of how he met these criteria. If you believe that you can show evidence of this then I would be happy to retrieve the page and move it to a more suitable location to be worked on as it would not yet be suitable for inclusion in the encyclopaedia.
- The article aside from showing how it meets the criteria for notability would need to be verifiable through the use of third party reliable sources which would back up the statements being made in the article.
- Hope this helps. Amortias (T)(C) 00:33, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

Applications of 3D printing
Applications of 3D printing was incorrectly tagged for speedy deletion. It was an article split from 3D printing, and the only text in the new article was taken directly from the old one. I ran Earwig on the pre-split version of 3D printing, and it looks like there were a handful of sentences that were copy-pasted from the original sources, but nothing particulary egregious. I'd like to request the article be undeleted, and I'm happy to clean up the preexisting small copyvios afterwards. John P. Sadowski (NIOSH) (talk) 23:34, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- @John P. Sadowski (NIOSH): I ran the new article past Earwigs copyvio tool and got 3 matches over 85% [1]. The old article might have been low % copyvio but what was split was almost entirely copyvio and as such I wouldnt be happy restoring it. I'll head over to the original article and see if the editing history needs tidy up Amortias (T)(C) 23:39, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Can you semi-protect the page persistent edit warring. 183.171.180.204 (talk) 12:51, 25 February 2017 (UTC)
Hello, you declined the speedy deletion tags on these pages claiming that as they were talk ppages, they were exempt from CSD G8. That criterion has no such exemption; the only slightly relevant part is "talk page archives (except article talk page archives where the corresponding article and main talk page have been deleted and the page is not otherwise useful to Wikipedia ...)", and it even mentions that subpages without parents can be deleted. Perhaps you were thinking of user talk pages? Anyway, I've closed both the resulting MFD's nominated by GeoffreyT2000, as a result of your incorrect declining of those speedy deletion tags. Graham87 13:10, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

The Movie Database
I am not sure whether Jimthing used that as his original .. it may even come further away. He dodges the question, and says he wrote it himself. I am afraid that it still is a copyvio, alse the other version ... --Dirk Beetstra T C 17:40, 25 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Beetstra: ran it past Earwigs copyvio tools and its unlikely to be a copyvio (at least that it can detect). The page Jimthing created seemed to be fairly similar to the one that was merged so it could be a huge coincidence, there was no complaints about the attribution being changed from him to the creator of the draft either. If you can find anything that might link it to a copyvio of something I'll happily review. Amortias (T)(C) 17:46, 25 February 2017 (UTC)
- Cheers, I am not a copyvio expert. I am only worried about the language they use (sockpuppetry?). I did not find anything external .. yet. --Dirk Beetstra T C 17:56, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

- Congratulations and well done for sitting through some of the weirdest and rudest RfA votes I've seen in a while - that aside, welcome to the corp and have a little read of our latest newsletter. There's plenty to do, and as always please feel free to run things by me if you ever need to -- Samtar talk · contribs 10:07, 20 February 2017 (UTC)

Contesting speedy deletion of ESIF
You have deleted ESIF overnight without giving me the time to contest it. This hastiness just makes more work for everyone.
First of all we do need an article on this, as Structural Funds is out of date. And someone has to start somewhere in building up an article,so don't penalise the one who makes an effort.
Thirdly it is definitely not a copyright infringement as Europa content is in the public domain and subject to the following copyright conditions (see https://europa.eu/european-union/abouteuropa/legal_notices_en):
"Copyright notice © European Union, 1995-2017
Reproduction is authorised, provided the source is acknowledged, save where otherwise stated. Where prior permission must be obtained for the reproduction or use of textual and multimedia information (sound, images, software, etc.), such permission shall cancel the above-mentioned general permission and shall clearly indicate any restrictions on use."
Therefore I would ask you to reinstate the page and let me get on with improving it. TobyJ (talk) 04:45, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hi @TobyJ:, unfortunately the release provided by the legal page doesn't provide release into the public domain. As conditions are attached to its release such as references being made to the original work this would not meet the requirements of a public domain work. The page can be used for reference but must be significantly reworded or redesigned so as not to risk being a copyright infringement. Amortias (T)(C) 21:03, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- OK I accept that, so please reinstate the page and I will work on it. Articles do not miraculously appear fully formed. TobyJ (talk) 05:39, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
- @TobyJ: unfortunatley as the article contains copyright violations in every revision we would not be able to restore this. The article would need to be recreated from scratch if it is to be included again. Amortias (T)(C) 13:50, 28 February 2017 (UTC)

- (talk page watcher) All things being equal, I'm just surprised that far more wasn't hatted far sooner. That whole discussion completely disintigrated. O Fortuna!...Imperatrix mundi. 13:59, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
