How you can help

Hello Aloctavodia,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, Kevin Keith, may be copied from http://www.kevinkeith.com/bio.html. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 01:34, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kevin Keith, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.

  • It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

My IP appears to be blocked, but I think is just a problem with my Internet provider. They can assign me a public IP, but they want to charge me extra for that. I don't think I have done anything wrong.

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. You forgot to tell us your IP address so we can't investigate your claim. You can find this using WhatIsMyIP. If you don't wish to provide this publicly, you may use WP:UTRS to provide the IP address privately. Yamla (talk) 19:16, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

My IP is 170.150.8.8. I don't think I have done anything wrong. I think is a problem with my internet provider. I talked to them and the only solution they offer is to charge me extra for a public IP address.

Decline reason:

Confirmed p2p proxy. Please see Template:Blocked p2p proxy for more details. Reminder: New unblock requests belong at the bottom of the page, not at the top. Yamla (talk) 19:23, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Actually... hold off a second... --Yamla (talk) 19:23, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I've granted you WP:IPBE for one year. Although your ISP is definitely to blame here (you'll want to at least consider one that doesn't use P2P proxies), this is hardly your fault and you have a history of constructive edits. Please review WP:IPBE to understand the constraints imposed upon you. Happy editing! --Yamla (talk) 19:25, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
thank you. Unfortunately where I live there is only one Internet provider. I am talking with my neighbors to try to convince other providers. Aloctavodia (talk) 11:13, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

PyMC, Wikidata import

[edit]

Software versions should not be entered manually like you did here. Instead, you could simply update the relevant property in PyMC (Q21028952). --bender235 (talk) 19:58, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the information Aloctavodia (talk) 11:10, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Upcoming expiry of your ipblock-exempt right

[edit]

Hi, this is an automated reminder as part of Global reminder bot to let you know that your WP:IPBE right which gave you the ability to bypass IP address blocks will expire on 19:24, 27 November 2024 (UTC). If your IP is still blocked (which you can test by trying to edit when logged-out), please renew by following the instructions at the IPBE page; otherwise, you do not need to do anything. To opt out of user right expiry notifications, add yourself to m:Global reminder bot/Exclusion. Leaderbot (talk) 05:15, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
