Please read WP:SPS, in which you'll find that blogs are not considered to be reliable sources, and WP:NOTNEWSPAPER, in which you'll find that Wikipedia is not a newspaper, covering breaking news, but an encyclopedia, expected to give perspective and background. If the Occupy Wall Street protestors are indeed re-occupying Zuccotti Park, there will be an article about it in a source such as the Times, Daily News or Post sooner rather than later, and a short mention of it can be added to the article. In the meantime, please stop attempting to add a blow-by-blow account of an event that is still occuring. This is an encyclopedia, not a newspapers. Thanks. Speedy deletion criteria
[edit]I see that you nominated Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Alden Smith for deletion under speedy deletion criterion A7. However, that criterion applies only to articles (which is what the "A" in the criterion designation means) and this page is not (yet) an article. The one speedy criterion that I think might stand a chance is G11 (advertising or promotion). Even there, though, the tendency is to give articles for creation far more leeway than other pages, to allow a chance for improvement. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:46, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
- The same applies to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jerry Abramov. JamesBWatson (talk) 13:25, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
Nomination of Sherry Wolf (activist) for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Sherry Wolf (activist) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sherry Wolf (activist) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Cameron Ring
[edit]I contested your A7 nomination for speedy deletion, as the article rather obviously contained a credible claim of significance. The deletion discussion you started does not yet explain why you think the article should be deleted. Please complete the nomination and add what you found during the steps outlined at WP:BEFORE. Thanks! VQuakr (talk) 04:59, 17 May 2017 (UTC)
AfD
[edit]Hi. I noticed you created Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cameron Ring but you advanced no reason why. An admin could close the discussion as keep regardless of what anyone !votes because of this. If you don't know how to nominate an article for deletion, please don't. Making insufficient nominations will also soil your reputation so caution is recommended. Chris Troutman (talk) 05:01, 17 May 2017 (UTC)
- And again at Freya Wilcox. Your behavior is becoming disruptive. VQuakr (talk) 00:29, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
Removing PROD
[edit]Please note that removal of a PROD template at Freya Wilcox is not the same as the removal of an AfD notice. Removal of a PROD is allowed by any editor per Wikipedia:Proposed deletion process No. 2. When objecting to a PROD the editor is allowed to provide their explanation in edit summaries, which is what I did. I added sources to support my contention that the subject is notable.
Also, don't accuse me of disruptive editing as you did on my talkpage over the legitimate removal of a PROD.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 23:24, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: 18th IIFA Awards
[edit]Hello Alexf505. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of 18th IIFA Awards, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There is sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. Thank you. Primefac (talk) 17:04, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
Please don't PROD if its already AfDed
[edit]... J947(c) (m) 05:15, 27 May 2017 (UTC)
- Oops, you BLPPRODed it. However, Kenneth Wilson (music producer) does have a source (poorly formatted, though). J947(c) (m) 05:18, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Gabe the Dog
[edit]Hello Alexf505, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Gabe the Dog, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Subject might be important/significant (see also Google News/Books hits for this subject) / use WP:PROD or WP:AFD instead to allow other editors to participate in this decision. If you are interested in learning more about how speedy deletion works, I have compiled a list of helpful pages at User:SoWhy/SDA. You can of course also contact me if you have questions. Thank you. Vantage Printers deletion claim
[edit]Hello Alexf505, I have removed your claim for deleting the page Vantage Printers since you have cited that the reason being Notability and this page is obviously an advertisement without specifying exactly which part of the page is indicative of advertisement. Furthermore, your claim of notability is invalid, as the information on the page has a credible link to it which has been provided.
The Wikipedia Deletion Policy clearly states in Article 4 that ""Advertising or other spam without any relevant or encyclopedic content (but not an article about an advertising-related subject)"" is subject to deletion. However, content on the page was clearly provided and was not promoted as an advertisement of services.
We commend your efforts, and would advise you to further look into the guidelines of the page Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion so that your efforts are not misconstrued as malicious or negligent acts. We hope that in future, you consider all the guidelines before posting in claims for deletion so that you are not in violation of any terms. — Preceding unsigned comment added by QasemRaza (talk • contribs) 06:21, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Tagging of Phir aaya satte pe satta
[edit]I declined the speedy deletion tag of this (tagged for "patent nonsense"). The article is not nonsense, it is merely the title of a film in Hindi. The movie poster included is a clue to this. I have expanded it to stub level, adding a single source. It clearly needs more to remain around long, but I think it is definitely not subject to a CSD at this point. I hope you don't disagree. Your recent edits
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 23:12, 4 June 2017 (UTC)
Rollback granted
[edit]Hi Alexf505. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 19:22, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
