Orphaned non-free media (File:SkyTwo.svg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:SkyTwo.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:57, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A long time ago...

[edit]

Could you do me a massive favour and expand the lead for 1997 European Grand Prix? I'm currently setting up the portal to have selected race reports on a randomiser, but this article's entry is currently too short. Once you've done that (assuming you agree to take on this most perilous of tasks) could you update the entry? Cheers, Apterygial 04:43, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, that's excellent. Apterygial 22:41, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Currently up for PR here. I'm particularly interested in whether I've treated that pass fairly and neutrally. Any comments on that and the article in general would be very useful. Cheers, Apterygial 03:37, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, only GA. You're right, I don't want to undermine our FAs by sending races of this quality there. Thanks for the comments (which I haven't looked at yet). Apterygial 22:53, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Up for PR. Also, Darth Newdar has put 2008 German Grand Prix‎ up for PR, so you can join in my first attempt at a race report PR, if you're up to it. Apterygial 23:48, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shiny thing!

[edit]

Well, after five PRs, I think you deserve one of these (I don't know how appropriate the sentiment offered by the barnstar itself is, but I figured I'd give you something other people don't have).

Your Opinion is More Important than You Think Barnstar
For being consistently picky, necessarily pedantic and surprisingly punctual in the 2008 F1 PRs, I think you deserve this. Apterygial 02:54, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

See, here's what all of the PRs are: I'll write something that I believe is largely correct, and you'll come along and say, "well, technically..." You make the articles watertight. Thanks also for writing this, you can find it linked on the F1 portal. I've replied to your comments at the Bahrain PR, but you might want to check it's all OK. Cheers, Apterygial 02:54, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. The bot seems to be quite good, despite the fact it blanked the page a few days ago. About the PRs, I have a couple of very minor questions on the Bahrain one. It looks like on the German one my review tackled the big problems and yours focussed more on the little ones, so that worked out OK. Apterygial 23:10, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Firstly, thanks for your PR, it is very useful and I am just about to go and change the things you suggest :) There is one thing that I have a problem with, and that is the references. If I get rid of the three sources you suggest, that will leave me with a load of unsourced stuff. The main thing I have struggled with was finding references for this race; I have got up to page 10 on a Google search for "2008 German Grand Prix". So, I thought that those references, however bad they were, were better than none. So that's why there in the article. What would you suggest I do?

Thanks, Darth Newdar (talk) 11:43, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have now sorted all the problems that you and Apterygial raised with this article. Would you mind having another look now? Thanks,

Re:'94 San Marino GP Qualifying

[edit]

I don't know exactly why the lap time is so slow; presumably it was an installation lap, or a lap that was interrupted either by a pit visit or by his accident that was only completed when the damaged car was brought back to the pits and passed the start-finish line then. Both AUTOCOURSE and Forix give the same time, and there are occasional other examples of this phenomenon, such as Mark Blundell at the 1995 Japanese Grand Prix.--Diniz(talk) 18:28, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you're still interested, I found out recently that the long lap times are caused by a timing peculiarity: all drivers had (I don't know if this still happens) their first out-laps timed from the very beginning of this session. Thus Barrichello would have begun his incomplete flying lap 14 minutes and 57.323 seconds after the start of the Friday qualifying session.--Midgrid(talk) 15:20, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

After a bit of a hiatus, I've put another article up for PR, here. Fairly boring race, hopefully there shouldn't be too much to talk about. Thanks, Apterygial 11:42, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to check, if you don't think you can get to it, I'll take it straight to GAN, should probably pass anyway. Otherwise, I'll keep it open. Apterygial 01:03, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I'll take it to GAN. Apterygial 11:53, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you any time at all, could you please take a look at this article for me? I want to take it to FAC so I want to get everything ironed out before we get there! PR is here. Thanks, Apterygial 08:52, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Run to You (song) GA reassessment

[edit]

Hi, the GA reassessment for this article has been open for more than three months. Do you think it can be finished soon? Regards, Dabomb87 (talk) 16:26, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AFAIK, you did everything right. Regards, Dabomb87 (talk) 21:39, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Jordan Grand Prix logo.png

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Jordan Grand Prix logo.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:39, 3 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Shizhao (talk) 03:39, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
