Greetings Lihaas. Honestly, I'm not a supporter of having such articles, but I might be in the minority. It's just a catalog of rocket strikes against Israel of which there have been hundreds. If an editor wants to catalog the number of Israeli strikes against the Gaza Strip by year or the military incursions into the territory, then they should feel free to do so. "pomegranate"

If you have time, could you take a look at the places which are called after "pomegranate":

• Rummanah
• Kafr Rumman
• Rammun
• Rumana, Israel

We also have the very messy Rimmon.

These villages/towns have tended to be mixed up. I think we need to have a proper dab, like for Taybeh (disambiguation), and with a link to the dab-page from each article. I have tried to expand the the different geo-article, though I haven´t done anything to Kafr Rumman (It is mentioned in Dauphin, Guerin,+ 1596-census --> could be a DYK, eventually? )

Hey Huldra. I think a proper name for the page would be "Rumman" (Rummaneh, Rummanah are the feminine nouns). You can add to these Abu Rummaneh and Umm al-Rumman in Syria, and Ras Rumman in Bahrain. Ameer, I was thinking (since we're beginning to have to dab between Governorates now) shouldn't we use the format "XXX, YYY Governorate"/"XXX, ZZZ Governorate", instead of simply "XXX, YYY"/"XXX, ZZZ". Seems more organized. What do you think? Yazan (talk) 16:10, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

If you mean Bureij, Hama Governorate instead of Bureij, Hama then I don't have strong feelings either way. The reason the "governorate" part was left out before was probably to avoid having a lengthy title. On another note do you think we should start categorizing localities as "Category:Towns in Syria" for Nahiyah centers or "Category:Villages in Syria" for other localities? We might to have make an exception for localities with large populations and include those with the Towns category. There are already categories for cities and Pal. refugee camps The reason I propose this is because I feel like currently, locality articles typically have just one category and could be classified further. --Al Ameer son (talk) 20:00, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

Well, I was working on Al-Qahtaniyah, Al-Raqqah and Al-Qahtaniyah, Al-Hasakah, and it occured to me that someone who doesn't know that Al-Raqqah, or Al-Hasakah, are meant as provinces might not understand the name. If you don't have a problem with it, I'll start implementing it. I think in a few places we might even have to dab between districts.

As for the extra cats, I think that would be good. If only we have the official designations of these localities, but alas. I'll start adding them. Yazan (talk) 06:59, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

I've added the Category:Towns in Syria to all relevant articles, and created Category:Villages in Syria to be filled gradually. I also started Baarin, which should be easily expandable for DYK (lots about Zengi and the crusades). Maskanah should be ready for DYK. Baarin and Nimreh, could also be expanded (see, Namara inscription; though I still can't be sure they are the same town). I feel slightly guilty about ignoring the eastern provinces (Raqqah, Deir al-Zor and Hasakah), but there's simply not enough sources on communities there. We should start with stubs, nevertheless.

Wa shukran illak. I tried to working on some villages of Deir ez-Zor, but like you said there's virtually nothing in the sources, at least not in the English ones. We're certainly making good progress in general though. I plan on going back to Rif Dimashq because there's still a lot of redlinks there but plenty of sources for those villages. Jamma'in Banu Qudama Origins

Sorry if I edited the page Jamma'in without first discussing it. I found that the link provided is outdated and doesn't contain any reference to Jamma'in Village Profile anymore. From my research, the Banu Qudama are originally from Jamma'in check Ibn Qudama biography in Islam Web, they went to Damascus in 1156 AC after being prosecuted by Hugh of Ibelin named Ibn Barzan by Ibn Tulun and reported by Usama ibn Munqidh [1] and confirmed at the page of Jamma'in Village and at Ibn Qudama Arabic Wikipedia Page and at معجم بلدان فلسطين. A proper lead still needs to be written up, the Personal life subsections need copyediting, the 1948 War, Six-Day War and Legacy section need to be expanded and become more comprehensive, and then there's a number of minor issues that need to be taken care of too. I've been distracted with other wiki topics and real life stuff lately, but I'll be sure to restart work on Nasser soon. Thanks again for the kind words and encouragement.
