Hello, After Midnight. I've recently begun creating categories, and one I created has just been deleted by you. Should I not have been informed of it? I noticed it on my watchlist, but didn't get a message about it. The Fleet was a notorious London prison used over centuries, with some very notable prisoners, so I felt it was a valid category, and if doubts had been raised with me, I'd have researched it further to see if there were many others that belonged in the category. I might well have not been able to convince that it was needed/found I changed my mind, but I'd have had the chance. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 06:59, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Hello, Boleyn. This category was deleted 4 days after being tagged as empty with the C1 speedy deletion template. I don't think that users tend to notify creators when they tag these categories the same way that they might notify creators of articles. Please note that the deletion of the category was only completed after if remained empty for 4 days after the tag was applied. The best way (perhaps the only way) to convince that a category should exist is to populate it. If you populated the category at one time and it was depopulated, please provide some links to history and we can look into if someone did this inappropriately. If someone emptied the category without taking it to WP:CFD, so that they might then nominate it for speedy deletion, that can definitely be fixed. Finally, please note that there is no issue with recreating a category that was speedy deleted and repopulating it, so if you wish to do so, please feel free. --After Midnight 0001 10:38, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. It was populated, to the best of my memory I'd started it with only one or two entries, but I know have no idea which articles they'd have been. Boleyn (talk) 13:36, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Sorry for the inconvenience. If you notice that it gets emptied (again), please let me know to assist. --After Midnight 0001 14:04, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Cross-Cultural Theatre

After Midnight, Thank you for alerting me to the possibility of using Cross-Cultural Theatre as a category. I was waiting to learn if Multi- Cultural Theatre was acceptable to Wikipedia as a category before considering Cross-Cultural because Multi-Cultural exactly describes the kind of work we do--but it wasn't acceptable, and whereas Cross-Cultural Theatre is a less exact description perhaps it will have to do. I have, therefore, re-instated it as a category and added our name (The Bridge - Stage of the Arts) to it; I hope this is in keeping with what you had in mind. If it isn't, please let me know. Mx96 21:48, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you are referring to. --After Midnight 0001 23:43, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

I'm a new to all this and thought you had sent me a note about the category "Cross- Cultural Theatre" being on the verge of extinction, because it was empty and about to be deleted, and more or less suggesting I consider it as a substitute for a category I had wanted to use ("Multi- Cultural Theatre". Apparently I got it all wrong. Sorry. Mx96 08:29, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

No problem. It looks like you are referring to User:Pichpich. --After Midnight 0001 10:21, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

This is the notice I was sent with your username in it: (Deletion log); 23:15 . . After Midnight (talk | contribs) deleted "Category:Cross- Cultural Theatre" (Empty category (CSD C1)) What I am trying to do is inform the correct "Administrator" of the fact that I would like to re-instate this category.Mx96 15:43, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

I did not send you a notice. You are just looking at a log entry that shows that I deleted an empty category. I do not need any notification before you create or re-create this, but please note that you may want to look at WP:CAT for more information. --After Midnight 0001 10:57, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for your help.Mx9614:11, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Category:16th-century Palestinian rabbis ‎

Since its been kept, is it possible to re-add the cats? Chesdovi (talk) 15:52, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I have no way of knowing what was in the category that may have been removed. You will probably need to re-add the articles to the category on your own. --After Midnight 0001 18:04, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

Are you sure this should be kept? The author never added a license, and another user added PD-self. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Innotata (talkcontribs) 15:10, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

I believe that the author did intend pd-self, since they used that on the other 2 images that they uploaded, but I have no problem if you wish to seek another opinion through WP:FFD or WP:DRV. --After Midnight 0001 18:12, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Your deletion

You deleted Category:Cities, towns and villages in Malaysia as a empty category (CSD C1) but it was an category redirect which is an exemption to C1. Why did you delete it? ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 20:57, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't notice that it was a redirect before I deleted it. I have restored it now. Sorry for the inconvenience. --After Midnight 0001 00:53, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

As a user who participated in Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 April 4#Category:Famous animals and subcats, you may be interested in a discussion related to this at Category talk:Individual animals#Recent Cfd moves. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 11:16, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

There is a cfd relating to this category. You seem to have created a number of subcategories. Was there a reason for using the term delegates rather than contestants in the subcategories? The Miss Universe website uses contestants.[1] Cjc13 (talk) 19:02, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

I used delegates because that already seemed to be the convention before I started. I think that the original scheme of naming came from User:PageantUpdater, who had done much work in this area before I came along. --After Midnight 0001 20:46, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Please STOP removing warning tags from images without fixing the underlying problem. The image as is has no rationale for its use on any Wikipedia article, much less the three it is currently used on. --Hammersoft (talk) 14:32, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

There is no underlying problem. You have not proven that the image is copyrighted. --After Midnight 0001 18:46, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for the links. I thought Commons was policed adequately so that if the images were ok for commons that they should be OK for enwik also. I did not consider that the image on commons was also a violation. Now that you have shown the arguments and have also requested deletion of the commons image, I have no further objection. I am guessing you also want to tag http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2010_00_sle.jpg for deletion, yes? --After Midnight 0001 20:27, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
  • There's thousands of Euro coin images that need to be deleted off of Commons based on a variety of discussions. See Commons:Category:Euro coins. So far as I've been able to tell, the only Euro coin images that are licensed compatibly with Commons are Finland's and Germany's (and Germany's might not be; still debated). --Hammersoft (talk) 20:36, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

empty category aerospace museums in delaware

hi - someone accidentally removed the category tags which is why it was empty. I've fixed the tags, but since you were the one who deleted the category (properly I might add), wanted you to be aware since I'm fixing it. Thanks dm (talk) 15:24, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Grande Arche photo

Why did you delete the photo of the Grande Arche that I uploaded? Agateller (talk) 04:21, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

I bet some context would be helpful for you, After Midnight. This question is about the discussion that happened five months ago at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files/2011 January 17#File:GrandeArchePD.jpg. —Bkell (talk) 04:38, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Could you explain the deletion of this file to me. I'm not saying it was wrong but given that I stated at PUF that I thought it was still PD I'd have expected you to close the discussion with a note explaining your decision rather than simply delete it and let a bot close the discussion. Dpmuk (talk) 20:04, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

There has now been quite some discussion of this at User_talk:J_Milburn#Question so you may wish to reply there to keep this in one place. Dpmuk (talk) 20:43, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
Since I allowed the bot to close the discussion that means that I agreed with the nominator (since there are no other arguments to delete), and thus I felt no need for me to use a note. I was closing many discussions today and I only put notes on them when I feel it is necessary. Obviously, since it was not intuitive to you, I could have left one and I apologize for any inconvenience. --After Midnight 0001 21:03, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Help remove a file

Not sure why you removed the tag here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:TumTeav4.jpg&action=history See the discussion here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_talk:TumTeav4.jpg --Dara (talk) 12:39, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

Please see the instructions at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files. I think that you only did Step #1 without doing Step #2. Without step #2, there is no discussion or debate regarding your request. --After Midnight 0001 14:01, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

Thank You

Thank you for resolving the unneeded dispute about File:BuddhoBabu.jpg that User:Jayantanth started, a long, long, long time ago. GaneshBhakt (talk) 12:01, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

You are welcome. --After Midnight 0001 14:48, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

I would appreciate your help in resolving on going dispute among the editors of this article. It has been trashed twice and about to be destroyed for the third time. Someone is deliberately removing informations that were properly sourced and passed Wikipedia's evaluation !Andrew Stewart Jamieson is a prominent heraldic artist with 27 years outstanding ,recorded and verifiable career -very much respected member of international heraldic community. The fact that the most important sources proving it are removed and permanently destroyed is highly disturbing! In addition one of the editors who participated a number of articles on heraldry to Wikipedia -XanderLiptak was blamed and accused of 'sock puppetry'!!I'm sure that this can be technically verified. Edited by me article about Andrew Stewart Jamieson was linked to many very important for modern heraldry facts and sources and if developed properly Wiki world would gain additional encyclopedic articles -about the history of heraldic conferences ,other artists ,techniques ets.ets. I'm a big enthusiast of well written and informative articles on Wikipedia , specially respecting rights of living people to the truthful and solidly presented image.Unfortunately in this case the sequence of info and photos comes from gossips and Facebook random statuses. I'll be grateful for your intervention and some sort of protection provided in this case. -- Werbena (talk) 10:14, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

It appears to me that 2 other admins took action last night to enable protection, per this http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log&page=Andrew+Stewart+Jamieson . If you need fyrther assistance please advise. --After Midnight 0001 13:21, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for taking action .I'm new to Wikipedia and I certainly appreciate your assistance.

I insist on removing artist's photo immediately -I specified the reason on the discussion page for this file File:76652 1677843787488 1279290793 1824387 1031840 n.jpg I find it strange that the main editor of the article -Wesley Phillips at a certain point started to work against its development and by removing middle name of the artist along with resources demanded total removal of the entry ! Mimicking cooperation offline with legal administration of Wiki( I wonder if such exist ??) he was proceeding with further destruction of the text insinuating that it's Xanderliptak who vandalized it!I have a prove - a screenshot of Mr Jamieson's website page with Phillips among others listed as one of developers.I think it's against Wiki's policy anyway. I wonder if any living person who's biography is shaped by anonymous editors has any right and way to correct the facts ? Werbena (talk) 17:07, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Category:16th-century Palestinian rabbis

The rfc for Category:16th-century Palestinian rabbis has not been conclusive. Please undelete this category. (did you check the talk page?) Chesdovi (talk) 22:30, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

That RFC was opened more than 6 weeks earlier and was delisted as an RFC more than 2 weeks earlier. Participation in the RFC by anyone other than yourself was virtually non-existent for more than 1 month. I deemed that it was safe to delete the categories at this time and if you feel I acted incorrectly, you can feel free to discuss the matter at WP:DRV. --After Midnight 0001 10:34, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
Who decides the outcome of rfc's? Chesdovi (talk) 10:54, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Category:16th-century Palestinian rabbis. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Chesdovi (talk) 11:15, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

The deletion of Dr. David West Keirsey's picture messed up things. The picture was "I thought" appropriately approved of via Wikipedia. I approved of it myself with my father's, Dr. David West Keirsey, permission. It has been on theInternet for many many years, why delete things without someone complaining? User:Edgeofchaos — Preceding unsigned comment added by Edgeoforder (talkcontribs) 01:46, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia:Possibly_unfree_files/2011_May_26#File:DWK.JPG --After Midnight 0001 02:16, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

I don't understand what Magog the Ogre is talking about. Magog the Ogre can't even type the name Keirsey correctly. Complaining about the picture seems out of nowhere. I don't know all the details of Wikipedia protocols, is there any way one can restore the picture, without reloading picture and going through the whole rigamole of "approving" the use of the picture (only to have some slub complaining 5 years hence wasting peoples time and effort)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Edgeoforder (talkcontribs) 04:12, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

You will probably need to contact WP:OTRS. I would also suggest that you read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials and Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. --After Midnight 0001 09:58, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Please explain why the license changed, the original uploader's complained on my talk page when I asked them for an FUR for the image concerned Sfan00 IMG (talk) 00:07, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Wow, you are taking me back 4 years, so I can't trust the memory too much here, but if I recall correctly, User:Zscout370 asked me to remove this template from a series of perhaps 60 or so images at that time because I was good at doing things quickly using WP:AWB. I think the issue was that this template, which is now inactive, did not apply to these images. Perhaps Zscout370 may have a better memory if you want to ask him to join this discussion. I hope that this helps and please understand that if I am not correctly remembering anything here, that I am trying my best and that it is not my intent to be vague or misleading. --After Midnight 0001 01:22, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

User report

Hey, After Midnight. I have come to you today because I am having trouble with Mattchewbaca. I reviewed Howling Bells (album), which was nominated for good article status by this user. After an initial review of the article, I failed the article because there were many stand-out issues. After this, Mattchewbaca started reviewing both of the articles I have up for good article nomination which are Who We Are (Lifehouse album) and First Time (Lifehouse song). He also reassessed my first and only good article that was approved for good article status in 2010 (Halfway Gone). On all of these reviews, it seems like this user is trying to get revenge on me by finding false issues with the articles I have up for good article status.

Because of this, I decided to give this user a chance to fix the mistakes in his good article nomination. I also apologized for any problems that occurred. After this, he wrote a rather offensive and sort of blackmailing reply to the comment I left on his talk page at: User_talk:Mattchewbaca#Good_article_mix-up. I am here to report this user for saying offensive and vulgar remarks to me. I am also here because I do not know what to do with the status of my good articles. He is reviewing both of them right now, and from his reply, has said he is not going to pass them as sort of a revenge tactic. I honestly do not know what to do in this situation. After all the work I put in the articles I have worked on, I want to have honest reviews for the pages. Your help would be greatly appreciated in this situation. Thanks. - Rp0211 (talk2me) 05:31, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Hello. I am sorry that you are having difficulty, but this is not something that I can take on myself a this time. I would be inclined personally to warn Mattchewbaca for this behavior and to delete his reviews of your nominated articles to let them start over "fresh", but I really have not been involved in this type of issue for some time and don't know the protocols for deleting a bad-faith review. Let me suggest that you try to post this at Wikipedia talk:Good article nominations and see if some other admin will take a remedy, or if no one responds, take it to WP:ANI. Feel free to quote me in either location, as long as you take nothing out of context. --After Midnight 0001 10:24, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Category deletion

Hi, you recently deleted Category:Transportation in Zavala County, Texas... I just created this category and categories for every other county in Texas. I'm currently working on filling them but some of them I haven't gotten around to yet, so I ask that you please restore the category. Thanks, Theking17825 06:35, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Hello. I have restored the category for you, but please note the 2 following things. 1) If you don't fill the category with something in the next few days, it will likely get tagged again for deletion. 2) When a category is speedy deleted for being empty, there is no prohibition against you simply recreating it, so if there is no text or anything that needs to be restored, you should feel free to just recreate this if faced with a similar circumstance. --After Midnight 0001 11:59, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, I just added one page to the category, but more will be added soon. Many of the articles on roads in Texas haven't been created and I'm working to create them all so there will be more pages in the category within the next couple months. Theking17825 13:40, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Cookies for you

I hope you enjoy this cookie as a friendly greeting from a fellow Wikipedian, SwisterTwister talk 04:33, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

Look please

I'm not sure about File:Pictr charlotte009.jpg so could you take a look please. It was uploaded by a user I blocked twice for creating hoax articles. It has a "I, the copyright holder of this work....." message on it but I'm unsure about that, and appears a bit dodgy to me. I'm not up with the play with image licencing so could you look please. Moriori (talk) 23:01, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

I checked out File:Pictr charlotte009.jpg and I can't find another copy of it elsewhere on the web. I tried both Google and Tineye. I have no idea who the subject is either, if you know that it might help to find the source. It might be safe to delete the file, but I don't know that there is any proof that the image does not belong to the uploader at this time. --After Midnight 0001 23:43, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
No source or author are given, and having observed the behaviour of the uploader I feel justified in removing it especially as the subject may not be aware she is on Wiki. I will leave a message on his talk page. Moriori (talk) 03:13, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
