Hey Theroadislong
I am thankful for your guidance in making this a success. I am looking at the recommendations that you've stated as well as another editor and one of the things I have gleaned is...
  1. The article should be written in neutral perspective.
  2. The article has little to no references that allow for it to be a wiki article.
  3. No peacock terms.
Kindly help me with clarifying these. Thank you so much again for reaching out to me on this. Africatalyst (talk) 08:25, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Paul,
How are you sir? I am glad to have received the guidance you listed on the above draft. I wanted to know how to avoid using peacock terms as you have stated. Since this has been to me a very hard thing to overcome. Help me please. Thank you. Africatalyst (talk) 08:52, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Daouda Sembene article

[edit]

Hi @Africatalyst. I have cleaned up the draft which you moved to Mainspace.

Can I ask what your connection with Daouda is? Qcne (talk) 10:13, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Qcne,
Thank you for the cleanup. My connection with Daouda is that he is my boss. Africatalyst (talk) 10:18, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for letting us know. I am afraid that it is now mandatory you make a disclosure of this relationship, by following the instructions both at WP:COI and WP:PAID. Failure to do so is a breach of Wikimedia Terms and Conditions.
I would also recommend reading the essay WP:BOSS. Please be very careful when editing this article (and any other articles that may be connected with Daouda). It is difficult to write neutrally and factually when you have a conflict of interest, so extra care must be taken.
I think Daouda is potentially notable as per WP:NACADEMIC.
Let me know if you have any questions. Qcne (talk) 10:23, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 09:34, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Daouda Sembene moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Daouda Sembene. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because WP:PAID/WP:COI creations should go through WP:AfC (where this one has already been declined four times). I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 09:39, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Your reason here: I was unable to make the necessary changes to the article stating that I was writing more information to an article which has conflict of interest issues. However, I would like to make the changes in accordance with this directive. I also would like to request if the document would be returned to an article from draft since the changes were pretty minimal. Thank you.
Africatalyst (talk) 12:03, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You have proposed as your new username the name "Your proposed new username: AfticanWriter"; I suspect that you just want "AfricanWriter".That would be fine as a new username; as you have a clear conflict of interest and are likely a paid editor, you should not be placing your work in the encyclopedia yourself, you should be submitting it for review by an independent editor. You will need to describe what will change about your editing in the future and how it will comply with the policies I describe here. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 12:18, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

331dot Your reason here:Thank you for your response. I went through the guidelines and I realized I have no more power to directly edit the article. However, I have seen the way I can make proposed edits. So I will be posting my proposed edits through the talk page which will be peer reviewed and applied by other editor peers. According to this guideline :you may propose changes on talk pages by using the {{edit COI}} template or by posting a note at the COI noticeboard, so that they can be peer-reviewed;" I will add the changes I had initially made in the correct way.

Decline reason:

As above, I blocked your account because it was being "used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia". I see no indication that you understand why that is a problem, or that you have any intention of making any edit of any other kind. Wikipedia does not tolerate promotion of any kind, so I'm declining your request. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:41, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Hey Admins of Wikipedia. Based on the recent block that I have received for my actions in preparing an article for a person whom I share a conflict of interest with, I have gone through and understood my mistakes. In addition to the above point, I also believe my editing actions may have fallen into the category of sock puppetry. As such I am sorry for not realizing the extent of my actions until now. I am remorseful about this. As such, I am requesting for a lifting of the ban. Kindly review my request. Thank you. Africatalyst (talk) 07:17, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline - no response to my follow-up questions after several weeks. Please post a new appeal if you would like to pursue an unblock.Ponyobons mots 15:45, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that my edits previously were deemed sockpuppetry since I was speaking on behalf of a person's biography while using their account on Wikipedia. Actually the company account. [[User talk:Ponyo]
