Potters Bar rail crash
Just to note, i have moved this page to Potters Bar rail accidents as there is more than one although i have made an emphasis that the 2002 one is more known. I have put the accidents in chronological order. Simply south 12:55, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Block of Hanselburg
I'd have given this user an indefinite block. If their edits are bad from the outset and continue to vandalise, they aren't here seriously, and he'll only end up being blocked again if he returns. Majorly (hot!) 13:14, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

My (Selket's) RfA
Thank you, Adambro, for your support on my recent RfA, which recently passed 54/1/1. I hope I can live up to everyone's expectations. I will certainly take the constructive criticism I received to heart. Please, if you have any comments or complaints about my actions as an administrator, leave a note on my talk page. Sid Couchey
Hi there,
I'm sending a note about the Sid Couchey page I put together for Wikipedia. I've worked with Sid for many years as his eBay representative (I'm also organizing a comic-book convention appearance for him in July) and he was pleased with the results. He's been earning a bit of belated fame in his later years and I want to help with that effort in any way possible.
According to the history of the Couchey entry, you removed the Sid-related pictures that I had attached to his page. Since I'm new to Wikipedia, could I get an explanation about this--and the best way, if any, to reattach the pictures so they won't be removed as per Wikipedia's guidelines? In its current state, it looks as if Sid was a cowboy-artist if you're just casually glancing at the page.
Thanks,
Dan Busha —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Chefdaniel (talk • contribs) 19:21, 1 May 2007 (UTC).
- Hi, thanks for your message. I deleted the image Image:SidCouchey.jpg and removed it from the article because it did not image did not have information on the source or the licence. The image had been tagged as lacking this information for seven days. This deletion comes under CSD I4 (Lack of licensing information). To help you understand the types of images that can be used, I'd suggest you read Wikipedia:Image use policy which should answer all your questions.
- Also, it is important if you are in anyway connected with the subjects of articles you edit that you are also familar with Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.
- If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask and I'll be happy to help you. Adambro 19:31, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Andrew Mulholland
I believe that the books on amazon.com are self published, which is why they don't have ISBNs. I believe that Andrew added bogus ISBNs to make the books seem legit. If you look at the individual amazon listings, you'll see a lot of suspicious numbers etc, such as low availability, further indicating self publishing, which is not a reliable source on Wiki. Further, a look at the alumni list will show he straight lied about graduating with honors...we don't need any more Essjays on wikipedia. Matt Brennen 19:52, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- As per my comments on the AfD page, I think the evidence does in fact suggest the books do exist (the publisher's website includes some of the books on their out of print list which would explain low availability) and I'm also not convinced that the alumni list can be trusted 100% to prove he doesn't have a degree. Despite this, I'm currently of the opinion that the subject fails the notability criteria set out in WP:BIO so unless anyone can present materials to satisfy those criteria, I will probably support the deletion. Adambro 20:20, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
I understand that Mr. mulholland may have told some reporter that he has a degree with honors, and that reporters never fact check these things, but don't you think the list of alumni from the university outweighs some newspaper article? My god the man never attended! The list is a complete list, you don't have to pay to be on it (as was claimed). This guy is another Essjay, and wiki has had enough Essjays don't you think? Matt Brennen 22:21, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
Please tell me where I send a copy of Andrew Mulhollands graduation certificate as not only did he attend, but he graduated with honours. I'm sorry if you had difficulty tracing his details at the University - but had you called them, they would have confirmed that the information is accurate. As for the books, yes they do exist and have sold thousands of copies. I'm sorry that you really seem to have it in for this guy - it's a shame as his work is well known and enjoyed around the globe. KathrineS 14:35, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'd be interesting in knowing how come you have access to a copy of his graduation certifiacte. DarkSaber2k 08:53, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Because I contacted him and asked for it. KathrineS 14:06, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Re:Chelsea badge image
Hello! The deleted image had no source; it was (improperly) tagged with {{PD-self}} and had no other info. The link in the deletion summary was http://www.chelseafc.com/xxchelsea180706/index.html#/page/Copyright . Let me know if I can do anything more to help :) — Editor at Large(speak) 01:00, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

George Harrison pic
What content dispute? -- Y not? 17:01, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry for the delay in responding. I probably misinterpreted the situation slightly but I don't see how the reason for deletion comes under the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is redundant it could be deleted under CSD I5 but that is not the case with this image, it is used in George Harrison and The Beatles. If you were of the opinion that it wasn't necessary to include in these articles then I would have expected it to have been removed before being put up for deletion. I'm also slightly curious as to why you yourself didn't delete this image. Adambro 18:02, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- It would be gauche to exercise IAR outright. You're right, it's not in the CSD. But it would be moronic to put it up for a long replaceability discussion where there are like three equivalent quality free images already in the article! -- Y not? 18:08, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, I just still don't understand why, by tagging the image for speedy deletion, you were taking the decision about the articles from being an editorial one to an admin one. For me to delete the image would require me to familiarise myself with the context that it was used in the articles. Much simpler would be for an editor with knowledge of the topics to remove it from the articles and then it could be deleted it under I5 by anyone. Adambro 18:18, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
Image watermarking
I had a feeling that watermarked images were verboten when I posted that warning to User talk:Themadscot, but I could find no explicit Wiki injunction against it. Where were you quoting from? Did I just dumbly miss an obvious rule? Ford MF 19:53, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- It's the last paragraph of the section Wikipedia:Image use policy#User-created images:
Also, user-created images may not be watermarked, distorted, have any credits in the image itself or anything else that would hamper their free use, unless, of course, the image is intended to demonstrate watermarking, distortion etc. and is used in the related article. All photo credit should be in a summary on the image description page.
- Hope this helps. Regards.Adambro 20:14, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

reverted page
Hi, you just reverted my page, you got rid of it so quick I didn't even have time to add the {hangon} text. Wikipedia is not webspace, your right, but most photographers have a couple of galleries of images and teres no harm in that as it is nt taking up any space and allthe images were in articles, it's not like I just uploaded them for my own reasons and they were taking up space on the wiki server. I would agree with you if someone started using wikipedia as webspace and they weren't contributing, but this is different.--Benjamint444 13:09, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Benjamint444. Firstly, regarding my deletion of the page, the Criteria for speedy deletion allows for administrators to delete pages "on sight" where they come under the criteria specified. A page tagged with {{hangon}} can still be deleted if it "unquestionably meets the speedy deletion criteria". If you would like to highlight other such pages I would be happy to review them against our policies and delete them as appropriate. The page clearly violates WP:NOT which cannot be ignored because you are an active contributor. Regards. Adambro 13:36, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

9 May 2007
Hi, on 11:18, 5 May 2007 you deleted the article Simon Reynolds, citing "CSD G12: Blatant Copyright Infringement of http://seven.com.au/dragonsden/judges". I have no reason to doubt that somebody copied text from that web site into the article, resulting in a copright infringement which had to be removed, but the page had a long version history (> 2 years), being about an entirely different person and afaik without any copyright problems (see this mirrored copy). As someone else has already remarked on the talk page, these older versions should be restored. Thank you, High on a tree 22:07, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
- I must apologise for this mistake. I always check the page history before deleting articles but must not have done on this occasion. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I've restored all revisions and reverted to what I understand is a correct version. Thanks again for highlighting this. Regards. Adambro 22:19, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

non-admin accounts and WP:ACC
It's to see why an account can't be created. If a user tries to create an account and can't, there are two possibilities. If it's because they can't solve the CAPTCHA, obviously we want to just create the account. If it's because it's a username vio or too similar to another account, we need to check first. So if a non-admin tries to create the account, either it works (in which case it was the CAPTCHA, and everything's fine), or it doesn't, in which case there's an error message that tells us why it can't be made (e.g. too similar to an existing account). We can then check the contribs of the existing account to determine the potential for confusion. If an admin tried to do this, the account would just be created, and we'd never find out who the username was too similar to, so both non-admins and admins (to actually create the account if it's determined to be OK) are needed at WP:ACC. --ais523 15:54, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for taking the time to explain this to me, I had tried to look into it myself but couldn't find anything about it. Adambro 17:32, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Re: NACER.org
Adambro, Rather than weigh my already weary fingers down with additional volumes of typing (I'm old & Arthritic!), I'd request that you view the discussion on Darkbane's talk page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Darkbane#re:_NACER.org I mistakenly, in my Wikignorance took this person as an admin, and directed my bile and venom toward him/her.
Rightfully it belongs directed to you, though I'll attempt civilty and restraint ;-)
The subject matter was tagged and deleted for notability. I will certainly undertake some of Darkbane's suggestions, however I'd like to ask if the fact that a simple google search using the spanish word 'nacer' (the organization's name is actually an english acronym) which returns a #1 ranking shouldn't suffice to prove that the organization is, in fact, a known and notable entity? I'll work on improving this article, however any patience & suggestions for a complete newbie here would be well regarded, and a bit of respect for the compassionate purposes of the article would also be appreciated.
Thanks, Zoundman 02:33, 14 May 2007 (UTC)zoundman
