Routes 601 and 602

No routes 601 and 602 are operated by Stagecoach London. Please sign your name after you've left a message on a talk page so that people know that it's you who's talking. CourtneyBonnick (talk) 15:42, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

But here it says http://www.londonbusroutes.net/times/601.htm that it's operated by Stagecoach and TFL the best as a source. CourtneyBonnick (talk) 15:58, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Why doesn't the link work? CourtneyBonnick (talk) 16:18, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Adoption

Hi buddy, you contacted me about adoption. I filled out the form in my sandbox feel free to contact me with further questions Bigmansam45 (talk) 20:14, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Jenny O. Article

Hi Adam,

As you can see I have submitted this article three times and I desperately need help. I have used nearly identical references as other articles and continue to get denied. Please tell me what I need to do as specifically as possible to have my article be approved.

Many thanks! Martinezyvette2012 (talk) 21:15, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

where do I post the adoption entry?

I would love to have an experienced editor such as yourself as my mentor on wikipedia but I have one simple problem, where would you like me to put the adoption entry thing you have? or more like, where should I place the form with my information on it? ( Lunashy Friendship letters.write a friendship letter 08:35, 12 May 2012 (UTC))

Frank Buytendijk

Hi Adam,

Thanks for taking a look at my submission. I carefully went over the notability guidelines and I am a bit puzzled. Would you be willing to point out what is missing? - "significant coverage". I added sources from various countries. - "reliable". All sources verifiable from newspapers, articles, journals; among which Harvard Business Press and Financial Times. - "sources". Many secondary sources with interviews and quotes, not just primary as so many articles have - "independent of the subject". Has it become too promotional? Your colleagues asked for more references and sources. I can take that away? - "presumed". That is your call, as I understand.

Can you give me a bit more information? That would help...

Thanks, CasperJB — Preceding unsigned comment added by CasperJB (talkcontribs) 18:35, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

'Not notable'

Thank you for the review feedback on the Huw & Tony WIlliams AfC page. Although Wiki appears to be chocful of wise words on concepts such as notability, it is short on hints and tips as to how someone who used to support Fairport Convention (and had some of their songs recorded by a wide variety of artists) can be so easily overlooked by such an august body of work?

The issue for me is that Huw & Tony left the scene at a time when the paper-based word was being replaced by the online (which is now commonplace). So the online references are few and far between. And I never planned for this to become a mini thesis. All the remaining 30-odd references are verifiable (because they have been) and not just straight lifts, as opposed to (for examples) tracts within Ralph McTell's page, which come straight out of his biography (and the reference list says as much)

So (again) thank you for your comments. What I now seek is someone - probably UK-based, who can provide some objective suggestions as to how I go about moving this article from where it is to being published. Whilst the experience so far has been illuminating, it is fast becoming academic for its own sake. And that is a shame.N1geD (talk) 20:11, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Adam - the article is untidy as it has been hacked about by three previous revisions. In parallel, there has been a lengthy (and unnecessary, in my view) wrangle over a photo that has now been accepted as falling under Attribution 3.0 in OTRS. The fact that a reviewer does not know who a person is is not really moot to doing the job. What I would have appreciated - and not only from the Wiki reviewers - is some assistance. One of the subjects of the article has given me permission and odd snippets, but has not really waded in with too much tangible help, which is a disappointment as he will benefit more from the article's publication than I will. I had hoped to meet with other Wiki contributors at a recent meeting in Monmouth, but no-one responded to my request for more info - because the whole system is based on 'push' and volunteers - nothing wrong with this, but there is no specific place I can go to chivvy people along. And the online chat is for specific tweaks.

I would welcome help - if it is something interactive. Having visited your page, I can see that it is systematically laid out, but unless I know what I am looking for (and I hope your page isn't a re-write of the Wiki style guide) then it's going to take time. it's not that I am impatient, but I suspect that I lack the (access to the necessary) basic material to hone this into the finished article.

Out of interest, what happens to older AfCs - do they eventually get taken down? Can I hand mine on to someone else? I would welcome your thoughts on all this and more - and don't wish to appear sceptical, as the experience has been largely positive this far - but i think I am reaching the end of the line for my involvement in this article.N1geD (talk) 20:29, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Decline reason question

Hi Adam mugliston! I tried to follow Wikipedia and your recommendations which were very useful to improve submission's referencing. Today we made the second submission of the Article about Margarita Ivanovna Kuss and hope to meet Wikipedia's requirements. Kuus (talk) 14:54, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

Hello Adam mugliston! I received your comments. I am Russian, live in Moscow. English is not my native language, and therefore I need certain help from you in adoption the Article if you do not mind. Kuus (talk) 07:42, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Here we are again! Adam mudliston we shall follow your advice. Can we return then later to the English version and what are the principal mistakes we should correct first of all? Thank you. Kuus (talk) 13:36, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Any chance you can help us make this more notable?

I've included our submission below. Is there something specific we need to add or change? We read and re-read the notability page. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

nPario

nPario is a Palo Alto, California-based company with offices in Redmond, Washington and New York City, New York. The company provides Big Data technologies for marketers and brand publishers, including Electronic Arts, Inc. (EA), a major interactive gaming company, and Thomson Reuters, a leading business data provider.

nPario designs marketing apps that facilitate audience insights and targeting. nPario's Big Data platform was originally built inside Yahoo, Inc., and is based on columnar storage architecture [1]. Unlike the traditional row or record-oriented relational database model, columnar databases [2]store data about a single column together on the disk or in main-memory and then the next column, etc. Big Data platforms based on columnar architecture like nPario’s platform allow extremely efficient distributed-read and aggregation operations over entire columns of values due to this differentiation [3].

The nPario architecture incorporates a distributed data platform, in-database data science and real-time services.. At the core is a proven infinite-scale NewSQL database engine that combines a distributed columnar database with a data science engine, governed by a common resource management scheduler. On the edge are run-time accessible systems that expose segments and targeting features. With deployments in the cloud or within the enterprise, nPario’s platform, rich applications and open APIs are optimized to support numerous marketing and advertising scenarios.

nPario’s big data team led by Bassel Ojjeh, who serves as CEO has worked on some of the largest datasets in the world in terms of volume, velocity and variety.

Company Events

nPario entered into a strategic alliance with WPP in mid-2011.

Adopt a new user request

Hi Adam, I am new on Wikipedia, and I’m an official representative of the Dutch Lady company in Malaysia. I would really appreciate your help to ensure my contributions are in compliance with Wikipedia’s policies and guidelines, and are beneficial to all. Do let me know if I can be your adoptee. Thank you.
-JoyceK1988 (talk)

Hi Adam!
Thanks for your willingness to adopt. Do note that I fully intend to adhere to the policies and guidelines of Wikipedia contributions, to make it objective and beneficial for all. Therefore, I would need a third person's view on this (in this case, yours), to ensure that my articles are good to go and are not violating any guidelines in any way. Hope this clarifies. I am so sorry to make you worry yesterday. I have autism and when I have sensory overload I become suicidal. I am not very good at articulate my feelings and thoughts and am misunderstood most of the time. You may know, autism is violence turned inward. I hope to keep optimistic and solve the problems today. I sent the charity the website and wiki page I designed for advice for further editing but they used against me. I was quite confused and overwhelmed. Anyway, will let you know what happens. I am sincerely sorry for the troubles that I have caused. -- RexRowan  Talk  09:16, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

EdX

Hi Adam, just to tell you that I have signed up 3 online courses this autumn with EdX. Computer Science from HarvardX, Computer Programming and Solid state Chemistry from MITX. The certificates are free this term so if you are interested, you can register to study for free. This is the link: [11] -- RexRowan  Talk  11:27, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for that. How will you fit all that extra work? I was going to sign up to the Computer Science one, but after seeing the amount of time required, I'm afraid I just won't be able to do it. Is this annual or just a one off?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  12:48, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
You are welcome! You can sign up every term and you don't have to pass it, but if you do, you get a real certificate. This term is their pilot trials and the certificates are free. From next term they are considering charging a moderate fee for the certificates. Also, I started using WikEd, it is confusing to start with, but I'm getting used to it. :D How's your day? What methods do you use to track all the bus schedules? -- RexRowan  Talk  15:10, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
It would be nice to get something from Harvard, but I think I simply won't manage this year. My day has been fine, what about yours? I don't track every bus schedule or even 20% of them, I know the ones near me, but I know the actual routes of many more. They don't change significantly very often, so I manage somehow, but my trick is that I know where and how to find a schedule and route easily and quickly.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  15:19, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
We have a bus service called Bwcabus[12] here, it's like a bus taxi for old and disabled. I used to get nervous when I get into tubes, because my brain navigates the world by recognizing landmarks, it's easy when I'm on a bus or train but almost impossible underground so I worried I might miss the stop quite often and I paid attention to the alarm a lot. If you would like to learn in your own time, try udemy[13]. -- RexRowan  Talk  15:38, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
You know a place called Framlingham? -- RexRowan  Talk  16:24, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes I certainly do, why?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  16:25, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
I am learning geography :D -- RexRowan  Talk  16:29, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
And just randomly picking places near me?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  16:30, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
It is common for the places near you to have 'ham' in the end of the places, and 'Llan' in the beginning of the places here. :D -- RexRowan  Talk  16:33, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

'Ham' and 'Lamb', interesting :D -- RexRowan  Talk  16:36, 7 August 2012 (UTC) I still remember the Ipswich serial murder case, did you have any theory about it at the time? Sorry, I am a big fan of Sherlock Holmes' methods. What are your hobbies? :D -- RexRowan  Talk  16:39, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

It's certainly true about ham and Llan. What's Ham and Lamb? I didn't have any theories, I didn't live in the area or the country at the time. As I thought we established, my hobbies are mainly public transport, but sometimes music too and languages.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  16:46, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Hello! Jak się czujesz dzisiaj? Is that correct? I used Google, sorry. What music are you into? I listen to meditation music every evening to help me drift off. :D -- RexRowan  Talk  16:52, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
A sut wyt ti? Very close, but you would usually skip the 'dzisiaj' as it sounds a bit artificial or if you knew someone was feeling bad yesterday and was asking them if they are better today. Hello, is Cześć or Dzień dobry (more like Good Day). About music, I like Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Misha B, David Guetta, Flo Rida, people like that. I don't really like calm music and I personally cannot fall asleep when music is playing.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  17:05, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Hooked on Khan Academy[14], like playing a game and earn badges :D -- RexRowan  Talk  21:06, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Haha, what is it about?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  21:11, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Online education tool, bit like Wiki, many Ivy Leaguers are hooked on this apparently. Solve problem sets and earn points and badges, coach others. Everyone wants to break the record and reach the ultimate black hole level. :D -- RexRowan  Talk  21:25, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Ah, alright. I might give it a go.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  21:31, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Ok, I put in a button if they want the questionnaire, how's that? Now, if you put in a part about commitment, accepting the responsibility and doing the questionnaire, we can be on our way putting up the message to new users.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  17:53, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Sure! :D -- RexRowan  Talk  20:48, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Idea

I was thinking that now I have graduated and stayed within adoption. Maybe I can help you out in your adoption school, like an assistant professor huh? :D -- RexRowan  Talk  16:46, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

If you like, fine with me. What would you like to do?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  16:48, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Maybe do stuff when you are away, look out for good adoptees on the market. Anything I guess. -- RexRowan  Talk  16:55, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes, you could certainly keep an eye out for when I'm away from Sunday. Put all my adoptees talk pages in your watchlist and their adoption pages aswell. Those are:

The only ones I expect to be active in any way (very small) are JoyceK1988 and Lunashy, but still keep an eye out for all.

As for getting some new ones, please do. Maybe we can collaborate on a template we could send to new users offering adoption, also introducing you as an assistant. Should we have one, that is new I will give you instructions on new lessons etc. for when I'm away. How does that sound?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  17:02, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Ok, will go through them. :D -- RexRowan  Talk  17:07, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, just stick 'em in your watchlist, unlikely to clog it up, but just in case. Then we can start on the template.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  17:08, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Done! Now template :D -- RexRowan  Talk  17:19, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Great. Location: User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Template. I'll give it a starting line, then we'll see how we can expand on it.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  17:21, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
K, I've started. Could you just click the link below the edit button which says 'Mark this page as patrolled'?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  17:25, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
I had a look on new page patrol and it's not on the unpatrolled list. -- RexRowan  Talk  17:33, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

I know, that's why I want you to patrol it. I've had an idea. We could add an if to the template so the message can be put up from you as assistant or me, what d'you think?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  17:34, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

I'm thinking adding a questionnaire to filter the desirable adoptees. Once we decided to adopt them we will notify them on their talk page, how's that? -- RexRowan  Talk  17:36, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I already have a questionnaire. You did it, remember? See: User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Entry. If the adoptee expresses interest, I create them a copy at User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Entry/(their username). Then we let them know they are in.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  17:39, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I do remember. I'm thinking putting it up before we accept them so we don't end up with inactive ones, like a code of good faith thing. If they don't have any emergency, they need to stick to their commitment or they will be replaced by active ones based on the agreement. What do you think? By the way, I can not see the patrol link, sorry. Can you in anyway point it out for me? -- RexRowan  Talk  17:44, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Ah, that's a good idea. We can attach it to the template using the Magic Word Username Template. Nice idea. Yes, we could add a thing saying should you accept you have to commit blah blah blah. I'll stick in the questionnaire, will you do the commitment bit?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  17:47, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

I forgot the patrolled thing. It's been done now, but for future it's in the bottom right of the article (not the whole page!). I added a button which will automatically create a questionnaire. Now if you do the commitment, accepting responsibility bit, we can be putting the message up to new users soon.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  17:54, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Shall we create a nice front, with borders, menus to subpages where they can find lessons and take tests in their own time, ask questions and discuss with peers, so on... -- RexRowan  Talk  17:57, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
You mean on the Adoption HQ? Yes, that sure could use some improving. There already is a menu there, but they need to request the test, I think it works better like that, as at Lesson 1-6, they won't know how to substitute and deal with templates, remember. They are to ask questions either on my talkpage, like you did or on their adoption talk page, but something to discuss with peers might be nice.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  17:59, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Code of Honour is ready and on the page, have a look. -- RexRowan  Talk  18:08, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
I just have to make a small correction, but it must be in my userspace, cannot be in template mainspace, as it is specifically about my adoption school, not for everyone's use. I'll move it, but remember for future. Same with any userboxes you might create, must be in userspace, we do not have UBXs in template mainspace. Otherwise, great.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  18:10, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Right, I think the template is pretty good. We just need to make a version when you are writing, would you prefer an if or a separate template?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  18:23, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

I think I will create a subpage where I can have an icon for each student. I can also write a testimony for the course. -- RexRowan  Talk  18:26, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Ok, if you like, but we still need a version of the template when it's coming from you. What would you put in the testimony?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  18:30, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Some pretty standard stuff, attractive but not scary. :D -- RexRowan  Talk  18:33, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Alright, go ahead and do that, I'll probably add in my two p if that's alright. What about the template from you?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  18:34, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
It's here: [15] -- RexRowan  Talk  18:46, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

What's 'Aductor'? And I meant the template for getting new users.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  18:47, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

It's my temporary humour. I created a subpage and will add the template with it :D -- RexRowan  Talk  18:50, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Do you not mean Adopter? Ok, do that, basically copy what's in the one in my userspace, but just change it round so that it's from you.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  18:51, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Yes, it was a joke. Have a look now [16] -- RexRowan  Talk  19:18, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Pretty good. We just need to welcome new users and stick in the adoption template.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  20:01, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Indeed, we can put it in the description area where the adopters list is. I am thinking of writing a piece of program after I finish my programming course to match adopters to adoptees based on their abilities and interests, the ones that have maximum percentage of matching areas will be recommended to each other on a list in descending order. -- RexRowan  Talk  20:07, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
No, we want the users to come to me, not other users. Unfortunately, WP rarely accepts programs and it would have to be integrated.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  20:10, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Right, we must reach monopoly! :D I added my testimony on here [17] -- RexRowan  Talk  20:27, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Haha. I see you added the testimony but the template for signing up isn't appearing, but actually that's not bad, because they will only apply to me anyway. I've had an idea for how to use the template for talk pages for both of us. The message can always be from me, but be distributed also by you, so I will sign the message permanently and then you can also sign as distributor, how's that?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  20:32, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
No, I don't want you to get into trouble or be blamed if I made mistake on anything. -- RexRowan  Talk  20:37, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Ok, if you prefer not to, but you wouldn't get me into trouble, because the my sig is subst'd from my userspace anyway, so we'd be fine and the only thing you'd have to do is susbt a template a sign, but if you'd rather not that's fine. We can create a different template for you, to offer adoption by me.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  20:40, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Like an ad? -- RexRowan  Talk  20:43, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Yes, pretty much. Have you heard of the TeaLeaf, the newsletter of the Tea House? It is written by SarahStierch, but distributed by many people, mainly Rcsprinter123, a friend of mine. It would be like that, you sending a letter from me to new users.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  20:45, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Sure :D -- RexRowan  Talk  20:49, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
OK, so I just edited the template to have my undated sig, now we just need to distribute to new users. A list of those is here: Special:Log/newusers. Ok?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  20:51, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Oh and don't forget to welcome them prior to that too. The 'Wel' option on Twinkle.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  20:56, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Sure, I also added this page to my watch list [18] -- RexRowan  Talk  21:00, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Great, let's work through those two.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  21:01, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Rowan, I'm going to edit the template, so when you leave the message your signature will automatically appear. Make sure you don't sign when you leave the template, as it will be done automatically.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  21:09, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Yet something new. So, now if you are writing to a new user simply write:

{{subst:User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Template}}

However, if you are writing to a user requesting adoption write:

{{subst:User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Template|requesting adoption}}

Ok?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  21:14, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Ok! :D -- RexRowan  Talk  08:35, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Some templates you can use in the adoption school: [19] -- RexRowan  Talk  11:59, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
I always meant to get round to putting some of those up, but I never did. At your suggestion of improving the adoption HQ, have you got any ideas?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  12:02, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Maybe we can create a icon or link for each pupil so the page doesn't look too long if we have many students. Also sort out the active ones from the inactive ones. Maybe we can do Adam's Express section where we offer random advice or support to people without the whole course. -- RexRowan  Talk  12:11, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
I like your thinking!! We can display the active adoptee's sections on the HQ collapsed. I also need to send out 3 month warnings to the inactive ones. I like your thinking with Adopt Express! Kinda like a short course. We should work on that and stick that into the message template.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  12:16, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Awesome! :D -- RexRowan  Talk  12:23, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Have a look at the HQ now, see what you think and what else we could do.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  12:32, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Impressive! It looks neat! Thank you for the proud adopter box! Now you can link this page to an icon on your userpage. I will link up to it too on my subpage! :D -- RexRowan  Talk  12:39, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I do need a box for that, I'll go look for an icon for that.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  12:43, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Ok, all good! Shall we create an ask a question section on an Adopt Express subpage? -- RexRowan  Talk  12:49, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Just did the extra button and placed on all pages, lookin' good! So you were thinking that people would just ask questions for the Express? I was thinking of compressing the course, but then it is pretty compressed anyway... What do you think?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  12:51, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Ok, maybe we can break the lessons down and reward people a barnstar for each lesson taken and passed from our school, like a module a student takes in a university? -- RexRowan  Talk  12:57, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
You mean people can choose to only take certain modules?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  12:59, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, they will get a barnstar for that lesson but not a certificate or report in the end. Maybe some pupils had to switch adopters or got busy then got kicked out. -- RexRowan  Talk  13:03, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Alright, why not. That means we need to create mini barnstars or something like that and then prepare Adopt Express.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  13:09, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Cool! -- RexRowan  Talk  13:11, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Right so, what first?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  13:13, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Find a barnstar template that fits our lesson description and then personalize it, when all done, put them in a collection. -- RexRowan  Talk  13:18, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

OK, so if you find something suitable for Wiki Markup, I'll look for something for Five Pillars ok?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  13:19, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Sure, there are 10 in total so we can do 5 each. I can see some already exist. Let me make a list of the existing ones and we go find the rest. :D -- RexRowan  Talk  13:23, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
In your awards section, worm gave you a template contains many barnstars, let's nick them. :D -- RexRowan  Talk  13:25, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Alright, he did allow to me to take the whole course, I guess the barnstars come with them.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  13:26, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Made one:
The Five Pillars Barnstar From Adam Mugliston Adoption School

-- RexRowan  Talk  13:33, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Great, can you save a copy at: User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Five Pillars/Barnstar?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  13:35, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Done. -- RexRowan  Talk  13:39, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Great, now let's get on with the others using the same formula. Which ones will you do?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  13:40, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
I start from top, and you start from bottom, meet me half way. Before that, please write more links for me to copy the data too, many thanks! :D -- RexRowan  Talk  13:43, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Ok, here you are:

User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Wikiquette/Barnstar

User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Copyright/Barnstar

User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Disputes/Barnstar

User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Deletion/Barnstar

User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Policy/Barnstar

User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Templates/Barnstar

User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Vandalism/Barnstar

User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Barnstar (this is the one for the bottom one which I will do).

Adam Mugliston  Talk  13:47, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

You forgot the closing tag |}. It's ok I added them in to all of them, but remember for the future.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  13:59, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Oh, ok, thank you for the barnstar! :D -- RexRowan  Talk  14:02, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
My pleasure, you deserve it. So, Adopt Express page next?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  14:03, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
The Adoption Barnstar
This barnstar is for your outstanding niceness in adopting me. Thank you! An overdued thanks.  RexRowan  Talk  14:04, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Sure, maybe we should group the barnstars together first, either on a barnstar subpage or categorize them. :D -- RexRowan  Talk  14:06, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the barnstar . Yes, I think a subpage would be suitable. User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Barnstars. Make sure you copy them from the links, as I have added the closing tags and a parameter for easy use to them too.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  14:08, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Ok. -- RexRowan  Talk  14:09, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Done. -- RexRowan  Talk  14:23, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Great, thanks. Sorry I'm not doing as much myself, I'm trying to juggle two things at once. All this and getting ready for my holiday :D Anyway, what's next.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  14:25, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
I know. You must be getting very excited! If you win the lotto, then come to see us in a helicopter!:D I guess all that's left is to introduce our flexible modules to pupils in our template and that's it. -- RexRowan  Talk  14:28, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I definetly am! I never seem to win in Lotto..., but who knows what might happen. Yes, we need to talk about Express in the template, but you said we needed an Express page and a (name to be chosen) Super Express, just asking a question page.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  14:31, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I think a subpage would be good, which can be linked to HQ. With all the courses we offer, including the new ones. The ask a question feature can be like how TeaHouse does it. -- RexRowan  Talk  14:43, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Alright, I thought a subpage'd be good User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Express. I don't think I'll be able to finish the Twinkle course and do the other ones, but I just realised we need a Wiki markup barnstar for lesson 1!. Would you mind taking care of that?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  14:47, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Ok, write the link and I will look around. -- RexRowan  Talk  14:49, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
User:Adam mugliston/Adopt/Wiki Markup/Barnstar. Thanks.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  14:50, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Done. -- RexRowan  Talk  14:57, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Excellent, thanks. Now for the subpage. If you write a sort of introduction/explanation thing and then I will put the lesson book in and the barnstars subpage.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  15:00, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Done. -- RexRowan  Talk  15:15, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Nice! Well done. We have to remember though that many adopters to not use this course or even any sort of structured course. I think there are only about 4 adopters actually using a very similar course to this, though there are some others out there. I'll add the lesson book later, but if you have any more ideas for Express just stick 'em in.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  15:21, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Ok, will do. Off now to watch a movie. Talk later. :D -- RexRowan  Talk  15:25, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Alright, what are you watching? Have fun.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  15:34, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

I watch the films on my BT box. I just watched 'The Thirteenth Floor'-- RexRowan  Talk  17:28, 9 August 2012 (UTC).
Oh right, I've never heard of that film. Was it good?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  17:34, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
It was about a computer simulation runs in another computer simulation, and the characters go to each others world from consciousness download, bit like Matrix and Avatar. I just added the lesson book in the Express. -- RexRowan  Talk  17:39, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
I was thinking about making a family tree or evolution tree to trace back to my Wiki dad(you), my Wiki grandpa(worm) all the way to my Wiki Ancestor(Jimbo) :D -- RexRowan  Talk  17:41, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Haha alright. You also have a great grandad, but I can't remember what his name is... He made this course.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  17:44, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Hersfold :D -- RexRowan  Talk  17:47, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Bloody hell you're clever. :D  Adam Mugliston  Talk  17:53, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Thank you very much! It's on my userpage now :D -- RexRowan  Talk  18:13, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
I've already seen, not bad. Now, I've updated the template with the Express bit. Shall we go sending it out?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  18:17, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Sure. Sorry, I went off and had some BBQ. -- RexRowan  Talk  18:49, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

No problem, hope you a nice BBQ. I'd suggest you start with users requesting adoption.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  19:02, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

The BBQ was nice. I'd cook you nice dinners if you were here. I've done most of them last night. I only chose those ones I thought were educated and polite. The new users page contains many blank userpages that I can not trust. Is their a place to find new users who have userpages, descriptions or userboxes? -- RexRowan  Talk  19:08, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Oh, that's nice. Though I am very fussy with food, especially with meat and veg. Unfortunately, there is no way of finding those, however I targeted brand new users who have literally just joined, they obviously have no userpage but are also likely to give up very soon.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  19:10, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
I was just reading Polish cuisines. You must miss them a lot. It is interesting they not just have sausages but also dumplings and soups. We use to have a Polish guy called Chris living with us, he taught me some Polish words but I forgot now. He also had some sausages but did not share with me. I guess it was very dear to him. About new users, I think we should look out users in new page patrols and recent changes made by new user. I got discovered by expanding a stud, not sure how they discovered me. :D -- RexRowan  Talk  19:15, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Ah yes, I do miss some Polish things, but we are able to make most here. I personally hate Polish sausages, there's only one very particular type I like. I love our dumplings, but my grandma makes them when she's here and we are going to make some with my mum after the holiday. My mum also makes all the Polish soups I like, except for 2, barszcz and żurek. I also miss Polish cheeses very much, I prefer them by a mile than English ones, they are milder and I prefer that. There are other things, which I can't think of right now, but we are able to make most here. How come you had a lodger? About new users, go on doing that, fine with me. How did I discover you?  Adam Mugliston  Talk  19:21, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
We rented him a room for a while when he was working as we needed help paying the rent. I make lovely dumplings, I can exchange receipt with your mom. I also know a few ways of making sausages, I bought an expensive mincer and sausage maker but never used it. At the time I thought I could make a small business out of it and later realized there are many regulations on that and put the sausage maker away. I sent a request with a kitten asking you to adopt me :D -- RexRowan  Talk  19:27, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Oh right. Unfortunately, me and mum don't have the recipe ourselves, we need to get it from our family in Poland, we are going to try it after the holiday, but my grandma has it. If you like I can send you a copy when we have it. We need a mincer for the stuffing, as we would like to make the dumplings with me, however we don't have one, so we are going to make them with what is called in Poland, Russian stuffing, made of potatoes, cottage cheese and onions. Yum! As for sausages, give it a go, if you're not tight for money, you might be able to afford wasting it if it comes out bad. Oh yes, now I remember.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  19:33, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
I was reading the article about Poland and I admire Marie Curie, Nicolaus Copernicus. Does the Wiki Food Project has a recipe collection? Maybe there are too many versions and they will get confusing. I got some casing from the butchers but it was the wrong size, I loosen it up and it started to break because it was too tight. The stuffing your grandma makes sounds like Cornish pasty. :D -- RexRowan  Talk  19:45, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

My Grandma never makes the Russian one, but the meat one is a bit like a pasty but without the veg. See if the butcher has bigger casing maybe. I am not part of the food project, but I doubt they would have some recipes.  Adam Mugliston  Talk  19:51, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Ok, off now. Have a great evening and sweet dreams! :D -- RexRowan  Talk  19:54, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Alright, have a nice night. I'm in all day tomorrow (should be anyway, guaranteed up to 2pm).  Adam Mugliston  Talk  20:01, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Until tomorrow -- RexRowan  Talk  20:04, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
