Teahouse
[edit]Hi E-e-bayer lover. Thanks for your interest in hosting at the Teahouse, and thanks for inviting folks to come and join us. We generally like hosts to have a little more experience using Wikipedia than you currently do, and so I've removed your profile from our list of hosts for now. You're still welcome to use our Q&A page to ask questions whenever you need. Once you've taken some time to contribute a little more and get to understand editing guidelines and policies over the next month or two, you're welcome to add yourself as a host again. Thanks, I, JethroBT drop me a line 21:58, 12 December 2014 (UTC)

- Hello E-e-bayer lover, please take the advise of these two very experienced editors and read the up on the guidelines and policies, and do some more edits in articles to familiarize yourself with the Wikipedia, before answering more questions at the Teahouse. Right now you are only causing confusion. And since you are not yet a Teahouse host, please remove that tag from your user page. In time you may very well know enough to help out at the Teahouse. - Yes, you may try. Usually it takes about 1,000 edits and three months before you know enough to give some right answers. See this page: Wikipedia:Service awards. I have done much more than that and I still only know a portion of the answers. :) w.carter-Talk 13:44, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

How to alert other editors
[edit]Hello again! Here is a small guide on how to alert and get in touch with other users (I saw that you have some difficulties writing the correct code):
When someone is posting on your talk page you get an automatic notification. That notification is a red square followed by a long yellow box (for most browsers and settings). In all other cases you have to alert the other editor in some way, either by "ping" or by mentioning them in a link. This will result in a just the red box notification on that users pages. So even if you respond on your talk page you still have to alert the editor you are addressing. If you want to get hold of me you write {{ping|W.carter}} resulting in @W.carter: or [[User:W.carter|W.carter]] resulting in W.carter and sign with the four "squiggles" ~~~~ at the end and hit "Save". There are some more, but these are the basics. And when you ask something on someone's talk page, you also create a new section so your question don't get entangled in some other conversation. If you are having a conversation with another user on some page, it is also customary to add that page to your Watchlist in case someone in the discussion forgets to alert.
The policy is to leave an answer on the same page as the question, keep the conversation intact unless there is some reason for moving it elsewhere. Like complicated questions at the Teahouse can be continued on the appropriate talk page. Best, w.carter-Talk 22:57, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks W.Carter! W.carter|E-e-bayer_lover (talk) 19:36, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Andy Dingley. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Hot Wheels without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Speedy deletion nomination of User:E-e-bayer lover/sandbox
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:E-e-bayer lover/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://newsfeed.hotwheelscollectors.com/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - OK. I am very sorry User:Rankersbo! Please don't block me!
- Done! Nothing is left in my sandbox! Thanks, E-e-bayer_lover (talk) 19:36, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

There is also another page that is really good. Although it is designed for young editors (I have no idea how old you are ^^ ) it is very good for anyone who is new around here. - Looks great. Now if you only started to write my name right as well, then all the 'pings' and such would work! :) As you see above it is in red, which means it is wrong. You have spelled it with a capital "C" instead of a small "c". And no "!" inside the brackets. If you write it like this User:W.carter it turns blue and ok. You have to pay attention to details here (as well as when you are collecting ^^) and everything will turn out alright. I'm saying Good Night for now, since it is very late where I live. Your Request for adminship
[edit]So, I saw that you are planning a nomination of yourself for adminship at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/E-e-bayer lover. Let me first say that I believe it is too soon for you to consider being an administrator. Right now, your request isn't live yet so no one can participate in it. I only recently became an admin, and I waited several years before I seriously considered it, or whether it was even really necessary based on the kind of work I do. I'd like to ask you a few things, which will give you an idea of where I'm coming from:
- Why do you want to be an admin? Why will it help you be a better editor?
- Did you read the instructions here?
- Have you read Wikipedia:Advice for RfA candidates?
- Have you checked any previous successful or unsuccessful RfAs?
I and other editors already explained to you that we didn't feel you were ready to be a host at the Teahouse, so I am a a little puzzled about why you feel ready to be an admin, which requires considerably more and varied experience as an editor. You may not have been aware of that, and if you weren't, that's fine. But if that's the case, I'd suggest requesting deletion of that page by posting {{Db-author}}
at the top of the page. I don't know the exact reasons you created the nomination, but I do want to impress upon you the idea that status-seeking is not the right reason to be here— while I think it's OK to be recognized for one's achievements, it's important to remember that our primary goal is to build an encyclopedia. I would encourage you to spend more time working on articles and working with other editors on article content to really get to know the place. I, JethroBT drop me a line 05:56, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- Dear E-e-bayer lover, I concur with what I JethroBT says here. Being an Admin is not merely a title, it requires A LOT of experience on the Wikipedia, it is grueling hard work with things you have not even encountered yet here. Please remove your request and instead continue to edit articles and learn, before you make any more requests for positions here. Best, w.carter-Talk 10:49, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hello again! Thank you for at least try to do the right thing. :) Much appreciated. But only blanking the page is not deleting it. The page needs to be removed entirely. This is done by you requesting the deletion and an admin deleting it. That means you have to copy the small code,
{{Db-author}}
, (double brackets and all but not the rest that is visible in the editing window) and put it on the now blank page and save. Please be so kind as to do that. You can read about it all here: Wikipedia:Deletion process. - I also took a look at your edits. So far you have only made 9 edits on articles, and most of these were reversed. Perhaps it would be a good idea for you to join a more experienced editor as an adoptee? Yes, I know that you might think that you are too grow up to be "adopted" :), but age has nothing to do with it, you simple get someone who can help you get started with the editing in a good way. someone you can ask things and so on. You can read about getting adopted here: Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user.
- Now please go and fix the code on the blank page. :) Best, w.carter-Talk 20:14, 17 December 2014 (UTC)

Your recent edits
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:21, 17 December 2014 (UTC)

- No, seriously. We are very friendsly, but almost all of your edits have been to work on your userpage and hand out Christmas messages. - E-e-bayer_lover: I'm just about to go to bed, so this will be my last post for the evening. First of all, you can be very lucky that Anna Frodesiak is taking an interest in you. She is one of the best editors we have here and she has helped many new users, and one of those here on the Wikipedia that I look up to. But what all of us is saying is that you should first try to make some edits in articles and help contribute to building this encyclopedia. That is what Wikipedia is all about, it is not a social site. In time, you will get to know other users and then you can give greetings and Christmas cards to those you know, not just randomly like now. And you should ALWAYS respect how other users want their user pages or talk pages!! If someone removes something, it is considered very bad manners to insist and put it back. You may remember that I always asked you to change things here on your page, yourself, before I did something. I respected your page, just as you should respect other users pages. So, for now I'll leave you in the very capable hands of Anna. Play nice and try to write something in an article. :) Good Night, w.carter-Talk 00:20, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

Images needing articles
[edit]I thought you might be interested in starting one of these articles:
Please let me know if you need any help. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 23:03, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Anna Frodesiak: Sure, I'd be interested! I will look through them and see what I can do!
- Done! One article was created! @Anna Frodesiak: E-e-bayer_lover (talk) 17:55, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but that is not how articles are created. You simply took the text from a copyrighted article on the Internet (yes, I've seen where it was taken) and put it on the page. You did do the Wikipedia Adventure, so you should know about such things now. Please re-write the article in your own words with facts from several articles and add references. See Wikipedia:Your first article and Help:Referencing for beginners. Also, since I guess you found the subject at Wikipedia:Requested articles/Images the image should also be included. Look at how similar articles are done. - w.carter-Talk 18:18, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
