[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, I like pie it tastes good, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it your username also seems a little bit disruptive.. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. [edit]Hi! I noticed on your user page that you would like to be an administrator, but do not want to nominate yourself. Would you be interested in having me nominate you for administrator? It would be my pleasure. Sapporod1965 (talk) 04:10, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I've declined the speedy deletion tag you placed on Otto adler as the page has literally just been created and is (I'm sure) currently being worked on by the author. I noticed that your rationale for nominating the page for speedy deletion was "pointless spam", please note that pages are only deleted as spam articles if there is promotional content within said page but just "Otto adler" is not enough content to determine that and as such is currently inelligible for speedy deletion under criterion G11. I see that you're new here however, so feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you ever have questions regarding speedy deletion or anything else Wikipedia-related. Cheers, Jeffrey Mall (talk • contribs) - 00:06, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Greetings. I am currently trying to create an article about Otto Adler. Because this is the first article created, the process may not be as smoothly as I have anticipated. However, the links you provided will help with that. Thanks! Amon Koth (talk) 00:11, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! While we appreciate that you enjoy using Wikipedia, please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a social network. Speedy deletion of Baris Bagci
[edit]Just a quick note to let you know that I removed the speedy deletion template you placed on Baris Bagci because the article did not seem to meet the speedy deletion criterion A7. The article contains a credible claim of significance (that he is an actor in an award-winning movie)
Please be aware that is normally inappropriate re-add a speedy deletion template when another editor (other than the creator of the article) has removed it, because speedy deletion is only for uncontroversial deletions. If you believe the article still needs to be deleted, please consider WP:PROD or WP:AFD which can be used for deletions which are not covered by the speedy deletion criteria.
I am not an administrator and I do not have any special authority in this matter. If you feel that I have made a mistake, please feel free to contact me on my talk page.

[edit]I've seen that you're doing some vandal fighting; first of all, thanks: you're doing a great job!
Have you ever tried WP:TWINKLE? It's great to tag pages for speedy deletion, WP:PROD, WP:AFD and for issuing warnings. Also, you might like WP:FRIENDLY, useful to welcome newcomers and to tag articles for clean-up.
Keep up the good work. ;) Salvio ( Let's talk 'bout it!) 23:55, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Removing warning templates from user talk pages
[edit]I've seen the template you are writing. Please read WP:BLANKING. "Policy does not prohibit users, including both registered and anonymous users, from removing comments from their own talk pages, although archiving is preferred. The removal of material from a user page is normally taken to mean that the user has read and is aware of its contents. There is no need to keep them on display and usually users should not be forced to do so. It is often best to simply let the matter rest if the issues stop. If they do not, or they recur, then any record of past warnings and discussions can be found in the page history if ever needed, and these diffs are just as good evidence of previous matters if needed." Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 12:11, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Grab some glory, and a barnstar
[edit]Hi, I'd like to invite you to participate in the Guild of Copy Editors July 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. In May, about 30 editors helped remove the {{copyedit}} tag from 1175 articles. The backlog is still over 7500 articles, and extends back to the beginning of 2008! We really need your help to reduce it. Copyediting just a couple articles can qualify you for a barnstar. Serious copyeditors can win prestigious and exclusive rewards. See the event page for more information. And thanks for your consideration. monosock 03:59, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:AccessDeniedStamp.PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:AccessDeniedStamp.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
PLEASE NOTE:
- I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
- I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
- If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.

Reviewer permission
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 11:53, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Huggle question
[edit]I noticed that with Huggle, one can revert edits from multiple users and/or IP addresses. I was wondering if you could tell me how this is done? Raptor Let's talk/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 21:45, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- I honestly don't even know. I was just reverting vandalism and all of a sudden I saw the edit summary "Reverted five edits by Whisky drinker, X IP, Y IP, and The Utahraptor to last revision by ClueBot (HG)". No idea how that happened. Access Denied(t|c|g|d|s) 21:53, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hm...well I guess I could just continue doing it the old fashioned way. I always keep Wikipedia open while I'm Huggling, so I could just go back there and use Twinkle to restore the last version with no vandalism...unless, of course, I eventually do figure out how to use Huggle for that purpose. But that is odd. When I saw that you reverted my edit, I panicked for half a second, then relaxed when a new messages notice didn't pop up. Your rollback has been removed
[edit]I've removed your rollback rights because you appear to have been using them in a content dispute on Talk:Mel Gibson. Rollback is solely for "reverts that are self-explanatory" such as those dealing with "obvious vandalism; to revert content in your own user space; or to revert edits by banned users who are not allowed to edit" (see WP:ROLLBACK). It's not clear that the IP is a banned user (rather than just a blocked user). However, if you have WP:SPI evidence that I'm unaware of or some other explanation I'd be happy to reconsider. [edit]Thank you for your report at Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention (UAA). However, your report was removed as UAA is for name policy infringements that are serious enough to warrant an immediate block. General name policy violations should first be discussed with the user on their talk page. A helpful template to do just that is {{subst:Uw-username}}. Note that a request for comment can be filed if the user disagrees that their name is against the username policy, or has continued to edit after you have expressed your concern. You may find the UAA instructions helpful, and I'd recommend reading them over prior to making future reports to UAA. Thank you. There is not much point in reporting users with no edits. And there is no point at all in reporting a user for a "possible" problem. If they actually start spamming Wikipedia I won't hesitate to block them, but several of your recent reports have been premature. Beeblebrox (talk) 15:59, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
I would suggest WP:DNFTT. An IP that made 1 edit before today and is spouting off about sockpuppetry is likely a blocked or banned user; and since they have been blocked again the "conversation" is probably best just ended. Active Banana (talk) 16:14, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

The goals for this drive are to eliminate 2008 from the queue and to reduce the backlog to fewer than 5,000 articles. Sign-up has already begun at the September drive page, and will be open throughout the drive. If you have any questions or concerns, please leave a message on the drive's talk page. Before you begin copy-editing, please carefully read the instructions on the main drive page. Please make sure that you know how to copy-edit, and be familiar with the Wikipedia Manual of Style. Awards and barnstars Thank you; we look forward to meeting you on the drive! |

Thanks from the GOCE
[edit]Thank you very much for signing up for the Guild of Copy Editors' September Backlog Elimination Drive! The copyedit backlog stretches back two years, to the summer of 2008! We're going to need all the help we can muster to reduce the backlog to a manageable size. We've set a goal of clearing all of 2008 from the backlog, and getting the total under 5000. To do that, we're going to need more participants. Please invite anyone you can to join the drive! Once again, thanks for your support! If you have any questions, contact one of our coordinators—ɳorɑfʈ Talk!, The Raptor You rang?, or SMasters (Talk). |

- Yes, my editor review is transcluded. Access Denied talk contribs editor review 02:27, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- Just making sure, 'cause I saw a few other editors who forgot. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 02:49, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
HJ Mitchell's Userpage
[edit]Is there anyway to get the dropdown menus (like the one with pictures you just created) to not bleed into the userboxes? - Neutralhomer • Talk • 23:53, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- What's your screen resolution? Mine's at 1680x1050 and everything looks fine. Access Denied talk contribs editor review 23:55, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- Mine is 1024x768 (actually had to look). Also, I had to rollback (due to the images covering the "undo" button) the change to the /Recognized page on HJ's userspace. He wanted that flush with his mop, plus (per above) it was covering TWINKLE buttons and the undo button as well. - Neutralhomer • Talk • 23:57, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

Wikify Drive
[edit]Since you signed up for the September 2010 GOCE event, I wanted to invite you to participate in a similar event: the September 2010 Wikification Backlog Elimination Drive. In case you didn't know, "Wikification" is the process of formatting articles using Wiki markup (as opposed to plain text or HTML) and adding internal links to material. Barnstars will be awarded to participating editors. Thanks!

"Act of Leon Trotsky"
[edit]I don't understand why this keeps being identified as vandalism. The caption "Act of Leon Trotsky" makes NO SENSE in English. The previous reverter acknowledges the revert was a MISTAKE: see User talk:T. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.204.24.175 (talk) 17:00, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

October drive
[edit]Sorry, guys. The wikification drive has been bumped to October. You might have noticed already, however. I'm amazed how many people came on as soon as I sent out the invite. With a few more, we can easily meet our goal. Just remember. Concentrate your firepower on the 2008 articles, and you should have no problems. Great work! Also, if you have time, please also invite other users to participate. Thanks!

Out of retirement
[edit]I thought I would let you know that I've decided to return to Wikipedia, only in a semi-retired state instead of completely retired. Life has somewhat settled down for me, and since I'm ditching pre-calculus I'll have a little more free time on my hands. Speedy deletion declined: Metazeunerite
[edit]Hello Access Denied, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Metazeunerite, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There is sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Courcelles 01:58, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- Similarly, I've declined the speedy deletion of Anna Mór Ní Chonghaile. If this was an unsourced claim, particularly for a living person I'd agree, but this is a historic person, and there is a source to back it up. — Tivedshambo (t/c) 19:29, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Altered speedy deletion rationale: Descendants of the Honored at Rest in Arlington National Cemetery
[edit]Hello Access Denied, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I deleted Descendants of the Honored at Rest in Arlington National Cemetery, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided. The speedy deletion criteria are extremely narrow and specific, and the process is more effective if the correct criterion is used. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Courcelles 23:47, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
/* Reproductive Health Bill (Philippines) */
[edit]I agree with Uncle G. This is the equivalent of the American Health care bills. There are 3 bill with their own articles. If this bill on the Philippine RH bill is deleted, I will suspect systemic bias. Let's remove the deletion tag, please. Klughilton4 (talk) 08:25, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

GOCE newsletter
[edit]Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive!
Participation report — We have 71 participants in the September drive. 95 people signed up for the July drive, and in May we had 36. Progress report — We have been making solid progress in eliminating the 2008 articles from the backlog so far. If we continue to focus our firepower we can completely wipe out 2008 from the queue. Overall volumes are lower than expected though, with nearly a thousand articles yet to be done if we are to meet our overall target. If you have not yet participated in the drive, we recommend you do so. If each person who signed up edits one article per day from now till the end of the month we can eliminate another 1,065 articles from the backlog. All contributions are appreciated. Announcement: credit for 10k+ articles — Participants editing a 10k word article may claim credit for two 5k+ articles on the leaderboard. Those that edit a 15k word article may claim credit for three. Regardless, the article is still counted as a single article in the tallies. Reminder — Articles from the Requests page can be included in your tally, even if they do not have a copy edit tag. This is a great place to go if you are interested in finding a higher quality article to work on. This newsletter was prepared for the GOCE by Diannaa (Talk), S Masters (talk), HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK, and The Raptor Let's talk. |

Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:25, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for your quick vandal-fighting
[edit]Our article on Mary Wollstonecraft has only recently come out of page protection. Apparently it is attracting vandalism again. Thank you for spotting and quickly reverting this. Could you keep this article on your watch list? There may well be more similar childish attacks. BrainyBabe (talk) 12:05, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
Copyedit requests
[edit]Hi AccessDenied - I saw that you left a request for copyediting on Malleus Fatuorum's page for One Step Closer and just wanted to leave you a note. Usually, "expert copyedits" are the last step in the process. At this point, the article has absolutely no references - this should be the first step in the process, as the article won't make it to either B or GA class without these. The prose doesn't need to be expert for these steps. Also, a lot of times, as references are added, the prose changed significantly due to nuances and additional information given by the sources. I would suggest taking a look at some of the other songs that are already of GA class (or FA class) and checking out their referencing. Please let me know if you have any questions.
