[edit]
Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Secretlondon (talk) 14:08, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

It is to be noted that I am an affiliate of ARC Ratings being the Head of Structured Finance. I believe I was blocked too quickly, as this action occurred immediately, likely as the wikipedia page was perceived as a promotion due to the username, irrespective of the content that is constructive and beneficial to wikipedia users. All information included was written in a complimentary tone, which is reflective of my views and was modelled upon the available wikipedia page of other credit rating agencies within the sector. Nonetheless, I am making this appeal using my personal name to better reflect that these are my personal findings and perspective on ARC Ratings. This renders the block no longer necessary because I understand what I was blocked for, and will not do it again, and instead will make productive contributions. If granted the opportunity to have my account unblocked, I hope to contribute by shedding a neutral perspective on a range of areas in business and finance, where there is often misunderstandings and inaccessible information to wikipedia users.

Decline reason:

Your proposed username looks okay. Your edits included "ARC Ratings endeavours to be a world class rating agency through leading credit analysis that utilises cutting edge data evaluation to produce fast and accurate assessments of risk". If you do not grasp that is promotional, then I am doubtful you can be unblocked. If unblocked you would have to declare your paid status, and your conflict of interest, so in your next unblock request, please state your willingness to do this. I am not reassured by the topics you want to edit. They are within your conflict of interest, and I would want reassurance that you would not be denigrating your competition. I have removed the unnecessary duplicated unblocks and the nowiki tags that prevented the templates from rendering properly. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 17:22, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I apologize, I am new to wikipedia and am still grasping the various functions. I believe I have now included the proper disclosure that I am affiliated with ARC Ratings. Regarding that phrase, I am not too sure how to edit it whilst still being in the blocked position, however, it is the mission statement of the firm that is directly lifted from the website. I have taken time to review these areas and I can assure you I will not be denigrating other firms as this does not align with my personal values nor the objective of raising an awareness of the business and finance sector that I am seeking to do by contributing to wikipedia.

Decline reason:

Mission statements are almost never appropriate for a Wikipedia article- as Wikipedia is mainly interested in what independent reliable sources say about a topic, not what it says about itself(a mission statement is the views of the organization as to its purpose and can change at any time). Wikipedia is not a place for organizations to tell about themselves. "Raising awareness of the business" is absolutely, 100% a promotional purpose(see WP:YESPROMO). Most people in your position have great difficulty with setting aside what they know about their organization and all materials it puts out(press releases, interviews, etc.) and limiting themselves to what others say about their organization. To know if you can do so, we will first want to see you make edits unrelated to your conflict of interest, as a demonstration of your understanding of relevant policies. Please tell us what articles or topics you might edit about. If you have no interest in being a general contributor, this is probably the end of the line. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 07:47, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
