You stalkin' me? Because it's wo-o-o-orking, to quote David Malki.

Did you ever get here in your local ramblings? It was on the news last night - seems it's been designated a minor basilica. No skin off my nose, except that it was once the only church in a three-block radius that was open during an afternoon rainstorm, so I ducked inside to dry off. I've always had a fondness for it as a result. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 17:13, 15 January 2018 (UTC)

I'm always lurking... If it's not on the NRHP then I probably never photographed or visited the church. APK whisper in my ear 19:25, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
It might be - I suspect it is, as a part of the Alexandria Historic District. Long years ago I found a list of sites for that, but let it slip through my fingers, and have no idea where to find it again.
Been battling the wilds of Metro today, for pleasure, not work - we had ourselves another derailment on the Red Line this morning. No major injuries, but it's screwed tomorrow's commute to hell for a bunch of people. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:44, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
Yeah I saw that on the news. #Back2Good APK whisper in my ear 03:22, 16 January 2018 (UTC)

Reverted edits on largest school districts

I definitely understand your reasoning for reverting my edits but that's a really long list of school to update at the same time. How about creating a list that includes a "year" column instead of the"students in 2010" or "change from 2008". It seems a lot better than what was put up there before.--SeminoleNation (talk) 15:27, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

That might work. The reason I reverted is because when I first came across that page, it was a mess. The numbers were constantly changed despite the year staying the same, so I've been waiting for new data to update the entire page. I might have found some updated stats. (I guess 2014 is better than nothing) I'm finding it difficult to find what I'm looking for from this page full of random info, but I think that's the most updated year available. I'll look again when I get home. APK whisper in my ear 19:27, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
2014 seems okay! I looked at that same NCES page. It looks like I found more updated information by going to their specific websites and pulling up their annual reports. I'm sure 2014 would be a good starting point for that page because it really is a mess. Let me know if you need any help.--SeminoleNation (talk) 00:38, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Stewart's Castle

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Stewart's Castle you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Hi, unfortunately, I'm hitting a problem with the online sources. I obviously don't have access to the books but I thought the clippings would enable me to do enough through the online sources. However, ever time I try, I get this,
"Server Too Busy - The Chronicling America server is currently too busy to serve your request. Please try your request again shortly."
That, combined with the fact that the Washington Post is subscription, is making any sort of source check impossible. Any ideas? KJP1 (talk) 21:00, 7 July 2018 (UTC)

Julian Scott 1897 painting, In The Court Of Larrick's Tavern.

My name is Jason and I am looking for source material on the Julian Scott painting. Specifically, where did you obtain the information that it existed and where might I be able to find the original or at least a copy. You reference it on the page you created for The Historic Larrick's Tavern. If you do not know where it is located can you at least let me know where you got the information. Thank you.

2019 US Banknote Contest

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Feedback on Washington D.C. related article

I've written an article about The Wharf and I tried to keep the article similar to articles about other attractions around the country, such as Navy Pier, Fisherman's Wharf, etc. Since I've declaired COI as a paid editor, I wanted to seek your feedback on the draft and it's tone. Any feedback or support you could provide will be appreciated. You can find the draft at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:The_Wharf_(Washington,_D.C.). Thanks for the help. @SBCornelius: I copy edited the intro. Please take a look at how I formatted the references and try to do that for the remainder of the article. You'll probably be reusing some of the references cited in the lede. If so, just add for example <ref name=wtop1/> if that's the case. (minus the nowiki markup I've added here) Check out WP:CITE for additional info. APK whisper in my ear 20:06, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

Washington, Virginia, edits by NYTTEND on 8 March 2020

Dear APK. Thank you for notifying me that NYTTEND has not been active for a few months. If you read my message to him, you can understand how disturbed I am that NYTTEND deleted an article I wrote about Washington, Virginia. I suppose I should wait for NYTTEND to respond to me. But if he/she doesn't, what do you suggest I do? The present version of the Wikipedia page on Washington, Virginia, is unreferenced, inaccurate, and incomplete.Harriswoodville (talk) 20:31, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

Nyttend is a good, long-term Wikipedian and nothing he does is out of malice. I'm not sure why the changes were made other than Nyttend saying it read as promotional. If there is promotional language, then it seems to be minor. I've reverted to your version. I need to go through and look at any helpful edits that were made in the last few months. I'm busy today so give me some time. APK whisper in my ear 20:42, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
@Harriswoodville: I noticed you removed the demographics section. It was using 2000 Census info so yes, that's very outdated, but articles on US populated places should include some type of stats on its residents. See if you can find the info from the 2010 census. APK whisper in my ear 20:46, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
I added links to Wikipedia articles in the intro. Please go through the article and do the same for the first mention of these topics, like I did here. APK whisper in my ear 20:51, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
I am so very grateful to you for restoring my original article. I am a new creator of Wikipedia pages, and it took me HOURS to create the Washington, Virginia, article that NYTTEND deleted. With regard to population statistics, the town has a population of only about 125 people, which is shown in the boxed information on the right of the first page (2010 data and 2018 estimates). A statistician has told me that it would be statistically inappropriate to break this small number into subcategories, particularly since the population is only an estimate to begin with. As you suggest, I will go though the article and add links to Wikipedia articles. Again, many thanks.Harriswoodville (talk) 20:32, 20 October 2020 (UTC)

I just saw your additions to Grant Road Historic District. Very nice job. I just moved out of the neighborhood and have thought for a while that that article deserves better.
