Hello, AB-Babayo, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

Avoid Multiple Wiki Linkns

[edit]

Hello @AB-Babayo, how are you doing? I have seen your recent edits and I am impressed with it. However, you need to stop multiple wiki link. For instance when you link University of Ibadan in the lead section, you don't have to link it again in the body. Best of luck! Ibjaja055 (talk) 19:13, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Correction note, i will surely take note AB-Babayo (talk) 21:10, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, AB-Babayo,

Thank you for creating Bakri Osman Saeed.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Mirrors

[edit]

Information icon Thanks for contributing to the article Suakin. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. In particular, only the first use of a word should be linked (not every time it is used) and words that are extremely common should not be linked (major countries and types of landforms). DMacks (talk) 09:48, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Several weeks ago, you were warned about this and said you would improve. It's time to live up to that promise. DMacks (talk) 09:49, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Noted sir, i will live up that promise. AB-Babayo (talk) 09:56, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop replacing perfectly fine article links with zenodo links

[edit]

You're making a massive number of bot- bot-like edits all over Wikipedia, but if you want to replace one URL with another, you need to always carefully manually check which one is better, or when in doubt not make the change. The current pace you're working is much too fast to do that kind of manual checking, with the result that you're making a lot of mistakes. Can you please take more care, or just stop replacing links in cases where there was already one listed? –jacobolus (t) 01:31, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Care to explain how this edit, in which you removed doi-access=free, and this edit, in which you added url-access=subscription, are examples of "Add[ing] free to read link[s]"? DMacks (talk) 10:16, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
