Sapsltl so called "Vandalism"

Tagging an editor with a UW-V1 for a difference of opinion?
Hiya: I noticed this edit where you responded by deleting the change and tagging his/her talk page with a UW-V1 notice. In fact, it appears the edit you responded to was legitimate, but even if editor's assessment of the facts were off it should not have been considered a bad-faith edit, i.m.h.o..... Best: HarryZilber (talk) 16:14, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
- That most certainly was not a difference of opinion, as I have no opinion on the matter. I misunderstood the content of the edit and have apologized. On my screen I saw quite a few seemingly random edits to a show that I was actually watching at that very moment and while I most certainly did not assume bad faith
(ie.. test edit template instead of vandalism) it did appear that the editor was stringing the edits along. - 4twenty42o (talk) 17:00, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
PSD
My edit on the PSD disambiguation page wasn't intended to be a test edit. I changed it because PSD is the Ethnologue code for Plains Indian Sign Language. I alphabetized the section because it didn't seem to have any organization. Danebell (talk) 16:23, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi thank you for your message - actually I have been here for over a year - I created most of Granny Takes a Trip - but I started again recently. I contribute on 'swinging London' mostly. I hope you like The Pheasantry which I created. I just need to get a photo of it. Regards, and thank you again for your kind message. I had a few friends here who seem to have left. SCUM Manifesto
The edit I made to the SCUM Manifesto thing was highly constructive as it concisely and precisely helped explain the nature of the SCUM Manifesto. The fact that some people might not like that word has no bearing whatsoever on its truth value, and therefore its encyclopedic appropriateness. Macai (talk) 00:27, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
Pot pie, and 142.163.98.203
Hi, I was going to suggest you got HG, but I see you already have it. In regards to the warning at here, I gave a level 3, 'cause the IP had done three vandal edits very quickly, you would have been with your rights to give them a level 4 or level 4-only and reported them to AIV, using the ARV tab at the top of their page. They seemed to have stopped now so there is no problem, but sometimes you need to be aggressive and not hesitate to use the system. When I revert vandalism I check to see when the last warning was given and make sure that I am going through the levels, to discourage the vandal, I usually ignore any automated pop up and do any warning manually, as I know that the tools used can sometimes do something different (such as miss a step in an AfD). Kudos to you for all your vandal fighting. Darrenhusted (talk) 01:21, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- I see and thank you for your input. Cheers! - 4twenty42o (talk) 01:24, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your reverts over at that article. I find it interesting that, shortly after the anonymous user was blocked, two new accounts were created, Tathbreaker and RJS59, who immediately objected to the reverts and block on the article talk page. RJS59 also reverted some edits I had made on the List of gothic rock bands article, once again reverting to the anonymous user's version. He also posted on that article's talk page, objecting to my block of the anon. I find this timing entirely too coincidental. Nothing has been done, at this point, that amounts to vandalism, so a check-user is unlikely. But, if it quacks like a duck... Anyway, thanks again for the back-up. Cheers! ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 03:56, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

The explanation I gave was "Remove meaningless mission statement" and the content removed was:
Mission Statement
“ | The mission of Conard High School, as a diverse and dynamic learning community that values the uniqueness of each student, is to develop intellectually, emotionally and ethically mature citizens prepared to meet personal and global challenges. Through a rigorous academic program and a variety of enriching experiences, we are dedicated to creating life-long learners who are technologically competent and committed to healthy living. | ” |

- You are removing souced information from the articles. Please stop, if you do not like how the article reads and someone disagrees and reverts you, you should take it to the talk. what happend to the investigation about the IP address (possible is3 employee) editing the stopzilla page? Also, user Ferretx seems to have the same behavior on editing the stopzilla page. Fallout 3
So what constitutes vandalism? I would assume it is writing things that have no relation to the topic in order to deface and/shock readers (e.g. sexually explicit words that have relation to article). I don't see how what I wrote was vandalism. I do understand that references are needed but how is original research handled? In the case of Fallout 3, does that mean there had to be an article cited from a "writer" that isn't me? It can be from any writer? Your reverts
Please slow down and double check some of your reverts. I'm seeing a few times where you've had to revert yourself, or times where you've made inappropriate reverts. This was actually a positive edit by the IP that you reverted and warned him for. I don't see what's vandalism about this rewording either. This, too, wouldn't qualify as vandalism as well since it's an edit dispute. A lot of your revert work is good, but please be more careful with the tools as improper reverts may scare away users. Thanks, either way (talk) 04:15, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- Look closely at the last 2 and understand the first is IMO a poorly worded change. The second however claimed to reach a consensus and had not. I understand completely what you mean but in both cases a template may not have been in order but a revert certainly seemed to be. The first one mystifies me. I think its a lag issue I seem to have occasionally with huggle. I will of course strike any comments I have left inappropriately and I thank you for your feed back and advice. Regards - 4twenty42o (talk) 04:23, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- A revert may be in order, but using a tool like Huggle to make the reverts is not. Huggle is a tool for reverting vandalism, not for poor rewordings or edit disputes. either way (talk) 04:28, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

If I may comment, Huggle is not just for vandalism. It is important, however, to not just hit the "revert and warn" button when an edit requires a more in-depth response. Take the time to write the user a message, instead of using a template. That, at least, is what I would like/expect as a well intentioned newbie. Tim1357 (talk) 04:41, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

"vandalism" of real madrid page
I "vandalised" real madrid's page? by adding flags to the table I CREATED to denote what company is from what country? in case you haven't noticed, every other football's club website that has one of these tables does the EXACT same thing. take a look at Barcelona's page. As far as I'm concerned, it's informational. Especially because a company like Teka does not have a wikipedia page and it took me hours to figure out what country they are from or what business they are even involved in. If someone wanted to know where Teka is from, they would have known. but not now... yup, I vandalised a table i made (that took me around 3 hours to compile correct and accurate information and format for wikipedia) to better the Real Madrid page. I'm a vandal. it looks SO horrible to have the flags displayed next to the company doesnt it? Splitfire1000 (talk) 04:55, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Can you check the facts before you accuse someone of vandalism?
Look, the PRC passport page is filled with info that misrepresent the ease of travel of ordinary passport holders. I started out by moving the gazillion countries that impose special rules on PRC ordinary passport holders to a special category. You didn't like it and reverted it back. So I removed it completely to truly reflect the ease of travel for a common PRC citizen with a commoner's passport, and you started accusing me of vandalism and started warning me that I'll be blocked. What the heck! You're the one who's not in the know. Check your facts before you accuse people and block people's editing functions.
The whole point of the having a section on any passport page is to reflect to be best of our ability the ease of travel of the holder of that passport, specifically for ordinary citizens who are not on anyway on official business or specially endorsed. A common citizen's ease of travel. That's the fact the page is suppose to reflect. The current set info on the PRC passport page is filled with conditions, exceptions and also official/official/On Official Business rules that do not apply to the VAST MAJORITY of PRC passport holders. When I started out by moving those exceptions/conditions to another category, you weren't happy about it. What exactly is your goal of adding those confusing terms mixed together? Do you have an ulterior motive of some sort? Stop harrassing people! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.112.190.20 (talk) 05:06, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

- You are being accused of sockpuppetry. There is not a whole lot that I can suggest to you. The name you are using as not been warned or accused of vandalism as of yet. However if the admins decide to do a checkuser and they find out you are the same person you will probably be banned. If you are the "cheerleader sockpuppet", I can only suggest that you come clean now before they find out on their own or crawl into a hole and not edit anything for a long ass time. While some of the admins here can be a bit.. unforgiving, most are reasonable adults. They understand that people make mistakes and act accordingly. If you want me to add my opinion to the sock case or talk to the admins, then you are in the wrong place. I have no authority on Wikipedia at all. For what it is worth however I try to assume good faith in all things and if you tell me you are not the sock, then I will believe you. It is sad that you had to get caught up in all of this; the User:LBHS Cheerleader is a bunch of meatpuppet cheerleaders from Charlotte County, Florida (namely Charlotte Tarpon, and/or Lemon Bay Manta Ray cheerleaders) who for some unknown reason get thrills off of harassing people at Wikipedia. It is nice that you have assumed good faith in this situation, but there's almost no chance that these girls will ever be assets to the project. If any of them contact you again, could you kindly notify me at my talk page so that appropriate action can be taken? PCHS-NJROTC (Messages) 01:03, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Question
You sent me a message thanking me for picture fix edit. You also commended my ability to ask questions before making blind edits. I have only asked a few questions, and I have made more edits, usually for grammar, clarity, or accuracy, but am a writer by trade. Are you being facetious? Am I changing too much? Thanks. Peacedance (talk) 01:05, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
- Quite the contrary. I meant everything I said. Not too many editors stop by the editing FAQ to learn how to do something. Actually many just edit blindly. I find it quite refreshing to come across someone new that realigns an article properly, leaves an edit summary and asks questions. Cheers - 4twenty42o (talk) 01:09, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
New World Order (conspiracy theory)
I wanted to stop and let you know that I think that the article is coming along nicely. After all the drama there I decided to find a new hobby on WP. But I have been watching and I think you are doing a great job. Regards - 4twenty42o (talk) 05:19, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you and good luck with your other interests. :) --Loremaster (talk) 05:21, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Reverted Edit
Hello. Can you kindly explain why did you revert my edit in this article. I do not find any fault in my edit, I just added info and cleaned up the infobox of the said org. Thank you. Dar book (Complains?) 13:21, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Dear 4twenty42o,
Would it help if I would send you the digitalized versions of certificates signed by Mr Shukumine? If so I can send them. They are in Japanese. I never wanted to involve in the nonsense of mr Peter Lee. But there is a limit. I now saw thet Mr. Roering is again trying to change things for the better like he did in the past when he made a npov article about WGKF. His efforts where all diminished after mr Lee was again allowed to work on Wikipedia. He was earlier banned for a long time. Please let me know what I can do solving this. I can proof I met Mr Shukumine personally like Mr. Konno also did several times. At least it should proof the good contact between founder and Mr. Konno in the past.

Arse
The spelling of center to centre at arse was changed as the entry refers to a book set in Britain and written by a British author. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.184.48.212 (talk) 05:36, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
- Also, the word "arse" is the English version anyway. Americans use "ass," which allows for numerous donkey-related jokes. >.> --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 11:50, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Vandalism / IrgoraJew
I noticed you have already warned User:IrgoraJew about vandalism, now I have encountered him/her vandalising Zionist_Occupation_Government and accusing users of antisemitism and vandalism for reverting his/her unconstructive edits (replacing the word 'jew' with 'zionist' throughout the article, even in quotes, book titles etc., [2]). Since these edits came after your warning, would you please do something about this user? This should at least be his/her second strike.
Since I editing WP without an account for the time being, I have no way of dealing with this, nor would I know how.

Marcel Diallo
I have re-added Mr. Diallo's real name to the article. This time it is sourced. Please do not delete sourced material on this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.169.160.146 (talk) 20:45, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi, cheers for putting your hand up to help out with the Arthur W. V Reeve page - unfortunatley I don't have a huge amount of time to try and make the page meet guidelines that I don't have time to read about at the moment. If you are able, please tweak the page so that its acceptable - or if you must, then delete it. It would be a shame, he is a great historical figure in New Zealand Scouting as well as New Zealand Rugby. The information I have uncovered is a byproduct of researching the St. Matthew's Scout Group in Christchurch, New Zealand - and since I found little or nothing about him on the web I felt it was worthwhile taking the time to write what I knew up for others to find - which I have done, albeit in the (seemingly) wrong way.
Cheers for you help tho

Many thanks for your help. As to the single point of information - the stmatts.co.nz site is one I am building for their group, and the information I am taking that history from is several large boxes of troop records, newspaper clippings, and his business card. That site history is growing rapidly and is one of the things that is keeping me very busy at the moment.
References to the book he wrote can be found readily (one reference here: http://www.antiqbook.com/books/viewcat.phtml?o=tib&c=Sport+-+Rugby+Union&sf=&alpha=R), and a little more refined searching uncovers a college rugby cup he [edit] PROBABLY [/edit] donated to the Wellington Rugby Football Union (http://wrfu.co.nz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=168&Itemid=60 - see near the end of the college rugby section).
Scouting references are harder to come by - hence why I am trying to create something to be built upon. I guess the best reference is http://www.stmatts.co.nz/a_w_v_reeve as very little (if anything) else seems to exist. I have sent some emails away to the WRFU asking what they have on the man and will also dig further into the national Scouting body here in NZ to try and uncover more in the coming week or so.
Thanks again

Hi 4twenty42o, I see I should have used the edit summary for that particular edit, but did you read the summaries for the previous two? 118.90.15.97 (talk) 05:04, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

hello, there's currently a debate on the talk page about the ideology, so for the time being would you keep in the implements of both sides? Or just none at all? - BlagoCorzine2016 (talk) 22:43, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
Secret Saturdays seasons
My edits to the Secret Saturdays episode list are in accordance with the show's creator's instructions regarding the seasons. [3] Though the first person to revert my edits instructed me to search for a link on a pre-Nov 7 page where Mr. Stephens refers to the new season as the third, I was only able to find links with him talking about "the new season". Grand Commander13 (talk) 23:00, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- I understand your skepticism, but I've done my due diligence: on his own blog Jay Stephens verifies that the account Jay Stephens belongs to him. His blog is further linked to by his official site, so I don't see how you can question the toonzone account's authenticity.Grand Commander13 (talk) 23:32, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- So since, in this specific case, the source has been confirmed authentic, can the changes I made be safely restored? Playing tug-of-war with edits is not my idea of a good time, but the message has been clearly communicated from a legitimate (if not immediately obviously so) channel.Grand Commander13 (talk) 00:35, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- I would not do it but if you want to re-add it I will not revert you. Do not be suprised if someone else does.. But I have better things to do as well. - 4twenty42o (talk) 00:38, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- Well, thanks. Actually, I decided to go nuclear and check out CN's site. Go to the videos, full episodes, Season 2. Has Kur pt 1 and pt 2 there. Do you think a mention on the page of the confusion with the link as a source would stave off a re-revert?Grand Commander13 (talk) 01:21, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

WFUN (AM)
Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to WFUN (AM). Editing pages in such a way as to re-insert links to Geocities is not constructive if Geocities indeed is no more. I am unsure what you're trying to do here? --66.102.80.212 (talk) 02:24, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
