Welcome
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. For one thing, if you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.
In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}}
before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome! VegaDark (talk) 04:37, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia and the articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits, as you did to Corvallis, Oregon. Readers looking for serious articles will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, try the sandbox, where you can write (almost) whatever you want. [edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to European Union. Your edits appeared to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Triwbe (talk) 22:20, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.
Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to European Union, you will be blocked from editing. Triwbe (talk) 22:25, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism warning
[edit]In answer to your mail I suggest that if you are a bona-fide contributor you acquire membership before you start trying to delete pages. Your attempt to delete that page may not have been vandalism as such but it was certainly unconstructive and, given that the category is part of an established structure, completely without justification. If you wish to make positive and constructive contributions to the site, then you are welcome to join. BlackJack | talk page 18:45, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to San Jose State Spartans football—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 18:33, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Wesoree. I noticed that you recently removed content from San Jose State Spartans football without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Wesoree (Talk) 18:57, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to San Jose State Spartans football, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. [edit]Hello, I'm CFA. I noticed that you recently removed content from Oregon State Beavers women's gymnastics without adequately explaining why. Thanks. [edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at Corvallis High School (Oregon), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. You need a reliable, independent source abouthte rivalry in the article. Meters (talk) 21:44, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- And the same for the other school articles. That field is not for simply listing other teams they play against. It is for rivalries that are significant enough that outside sources have published material about the rivalry itself. Meters (talk) 21:49, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at West Albany High School, you may be blocked from editing. It's difficult to WP:AGF when you add refs and they are all either dead links or predating your claims. Meters (talk) 00:46, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users.
