Speedy deletion nomination of ContentBridge

Hello 009o9,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged ContentBridge for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Trivialist (talk) 16:58, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Heather Youmans, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Annie and Annie Get Your Gun. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:24, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Nomination of ContentBridge for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article ContentBridge is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ContentBridge until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:42, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

Conflict of interest disclosure

Thank you for the disclosure statements you made on your user page.

I noticed, however, that ContentBridge was conspicuously absent from any mention on your user page, yet your contributions and comments on that article's talk page indicate that you have an association with that company.

Would you please update your disclosure statement? Thank you. ~Amatulić (talk) 16:13, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

@User:Amatulic Due to well-founded concerns about stalking, I have elected to comply with the Foundation's policy located at: Here
As part of these obligations, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. You must make that disclosure in at least one of the following ways:
  • a statement on your user page,
  • a statement on the talk page accompanying any paid contributions, or
  • a statement in the edit summary accompanying any paid contributions.
I have in the past had vengeful editors, visit my user page and contributions list in order to disrupt and/or destroy otherwise non-controversial contributions. I would have no problem with honoring your request, but my understanding of sock-puppetry rules do not allow me to maintain separate accounts (so that my voluntary edits are not also attacked).
I understand that that Foundation's, June 2014 ruling, can have additional or alternative paid editing rules at the project level that I will also comply with. It appears that the Talk page disclosure complies with WP:PAY, WP:NOPAY and WP:COI, which has been modified to reflect the changes.
I hope you understand that the Talk page disclosure is the most transparent way for me to make my disclosure, avoids creating an obvious list of articles for WP:WIKIHOUNDING attacks and for editors who cannot accept the Foundation's ruling. I hope you understand my concerns, Thank you! 009o9 (talk) 17:52, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
Updated my user page, but still not interested in presenting a WP:WIKIHOUNDING a roadmap for newbies to follow. I hope you understand my preference for disclosing on Talk pages instead. 009o9 (talk) 23:49, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

Question about WikiHounding

I weighed in the ContentBridge discussion and I've found two articles I authored have been redirected to other pages (Albert Okura: The Chicken Man with a 50 Year Plan and Bytemarks Café). In addition two other articles have been flagged for notability (FLOW MMA and Yellow Green Beret: Stories of an Asian-American Stumbling Around U.S. Army Special Forces (series)). I've noticed that these changes were made after I voted on the ContentBridge article and it was done by the same user, Randykitty (who also voted on the article, albeit opposite of the position I voted for). These changes are distressing as it seems like retaliatory WP:WIKIHOUNDING. DependableSkeleton79 (talk) 18:32, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

@User:DependableSkeleton79 I see that instead of going through the deletion process, your articles appear to have been blanked and redirected by the same editor involved in my article's Notability challenge that you supported my position on -- voting directly against the now retaliatory editor. [1]
It appears that User:Randykitty has administrative privileges and was approached by the editor who nominated ContentBridge for AfD (User:Tokyogirl79 also an administrator) and RandyKitty responded to have parsed my contribution list also.
  • [2] (see Discussion between Randykitty and Tokyogirl79, see ContentBridge section)
It appears that there is some kind of agenda here when those with administrative privilege go around the AfD process and retaliate against editors for voting against them. Thank you for vote supporting my article's notability claim.
I believe that the real agenda here is that I am to be taught a lesson for complying with the Foundation's new paid editing disclosure requirement as Tokyogirl79 mentions it (my disclosure) in many discussions including one that might be considered Wikipedia:Canvassing
Additional info: prior to editing your articles, User:Randykitty states does not have time to nominate for deletion within the policies and guidelines? Source section and Permalink009o9 (talk) 21:05, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

L.A. events on October 7 and 16

Upcoming L.A. events: Wik-Ed Women edit-a-thon (10/7, 6-10pm) and UCR edit-a-thon (10/16, 10am-4pm)

Dear fellow Wikipedian,

The Southern California Wikipedia community has two exciting events coming up in the next few weeks: a Wik-Ed Women editing session downtown designed to combat systemic bias, and a Wikipedia Loves Libraries event at UC Riverside!

Wik-Ed Women is a new monthly series of informal Wikipedia editing sessions for Los Angeles women-in-the-arts (though all are welcome) to contribute their expertise to Wikipedia, specifically expanding content about women artists. This second session will take place on Tuesday, October 7 from 6pm to 10pm at the Los Angeles Contemporary Archive downtown. Please RSVP here if you plan to attend.

The UC Riverside Wikipedia Loves Libraries event is an edit-a-thon targeting articles related to UC Riverside, SoCal, and beyond. Join students and faculty learning how to edit! This event will take place on Thursday, October 16 from 10am to 4pm at UCR's Tomás Rivera Library. Again, RSVPs are requested here.

I hope to see you there! Calliopejen1 (talk) - via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 20:47, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

Now can you help me?

Trying to de-orphan articles and I apcame across these articles. Should they be merged, redirected, ...? American Dad (season 12) and American Dad! (season 11). The author of 12 is treating the TBS episodes as a new season. Postcard Cathy (talk)

@Postcard Cathy that is an odd one, it looks like American Dad (season 12) (note the absence of the "!" in the title) started out as a redirect to List of American Dad! episodes#Season 12 (2014) a non-existent section. (It appears that Season 11 is 2014.)
Another oddity is that there is already another redirect American Dad! (season 12) correctly spelled that links back to the list article: List_of_American_Dad!_episodes.
I notice that User:AmericanDad86 is an active editor on American Dad! (season 11). For housekeeping purposes, I'd say that the poorly named and sourced, American Dad (season 12) could be put up for WP:AfD, or even a Speedie WP:A10 and invite User:AmericanDad86 to comment. Thanks again for your help!009o9 (talk) 22:11, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
You taught me something. I never noticed that option. I coulda done that for you on Eringer had I known. Postcard Cathy (talk)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Robert Eringer, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Vanity Fair. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

As part of Wikipedia Loves Libraries and to celebrate Open Access Week, UC Riverside is participating alongside other Western Waters Digital Library members in an edit-a-thon focusing on water issues. Join students and faculty learning how to edit! This event will take place on Tuesday, October 21 from 10am to 3pm at UCR's Orbach Science Library (map). RSVPs are requested here.

The Unforgetting L.A. edit-a-thon and training workshop will take place at the 9th annual Los Angeles Archives Bazaar, and is hosted by online magazine East of Borneo in partnership with L.A. as Subject. Join us on Saturday, October 25 from 9am to 5pm at the USC Doheny Memorial Library (map). Beginners welcome! Please RSVP here if you plan to attend.

Hello 009o9. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.

The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.

If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)

If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.

Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.

I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC).

Your submission at Articles for creation: Jason Peterson has been accepted

Jason Peterson, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

You are more than welcome to continue making quality contributions to Wikipedia. Note that because you are a logged-in user, you can create articles yourself, and don't have to post a request. However, you may continue submitting work to Articles for Creation if you prefer.

Thank you for helping improve Wikipedia!

Accidentally-created user page

If you want to move something into your own userspace, you need to put "009o9/<title>" in the right hand box on the "move" form, not just "<title>", so that the result is "User:009o9/<title>". In this case, you did not actually need to move the draft, because as the notice above says, the article has been created at Jason Peterson.

What you did created a new user page User:Jason Peterson. If there were no such account, it wouldn't actually have made a new account, only a userpage which could be deleted by WP:CSD#U2 Nonexistent user.

In this case, as it happens, there is an account with that name. That account's contribution history shows that it has not edited for three years - three years to the day, by a curious coincidence. There has never been anything on the account's user page, so I have deleted what you accidentally put there. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 20:50, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

@JohnCD Thanks for your help with that, really odd that the account was already in existence and last edit three years ago to the day, I believe that this pre-dates my involvement with the Wikipedia. (Except for one IP edit years ago, I've always used the 009o9 handle.) Again, I apologize, I was juggling three different articles at once, trying to comply with a related AfD merge consensus, so a little frazzled. There are a couple other delete requests from my goofups this morning. Thanks Again! 009o9 (talk) 21:03, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
No worries! I think I have cleaned them all up. The "Move" form causes a lot of confusion. The usual trap people fall into is to have "Wikipedia" rather than "(Article)" in the left-hand box. Cheers, JohnCD (talk) 21:14, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
Frustration level rather high this morning, Thanks Again!009o9 (talk) 21:48, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

Abandoned drafts

Information iconHello, 009o9, I saw that you made a draft for a new article at User:009o9/Computer-related occupations. According to WP:STALEDRAFT, "Short term hosting of potentially valid articles and other reasonable content under development or in active use is usually acceptable (the template {{userspace draft}} can be added to the top of the page to identify these)." But in this case, you haven't edited your draft for a long time. If you are done, please donate it by moving User:009o9/Computer-related occupations to a Wikipedia:WikiProject Abandoned Drafts subpage (a participant may help). If you are not done, please finish it and move it. If you abandoned it, you may request it for deletion by putting "{{db-u1}}" or donating it. Thank you. SD0001 (talk) 07:07, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Similarly, you have 4 other drafts (User:009o9/Cooper Smith Advertising, User:009o9/Lindsey Stirling discography, User:009o9/Never Gonna Be the Same Again and User:009o9/Topher Straus) listed at Category:Stale Userspace drafts that were last edited more than one year ago. Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, 009o9. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Draft:Draft Mitchell Kriegman, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. CookieMonster755 (talk) 00:45, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

@User:CookieMonster755 The rules you've provided here apply to article space and have been clarified by the Foundation in June of 2014 Terms_of_use#paid-contrib-disclosure. Wikipedia does not have additional policies at Alternative_paid_contribution_disclosure_policies.
Possible COI is exactly why I submitted to AfD instead of moving the article myself. I respect the rules and input from other writers. Kriegman is disclosed on my user page and in the note I left in the top of the draft. I also provide a Template:Paid article on my paid works, but in this case, the talk page should not travel with the draft, because there is an existing article and that talk page should sustain. While I'm on the subject, I will add the additional declaration to the existing Talk:Mitchell_Kriegman talk page. Thanks, resubmitting -- 009o9 (talk) 03:57, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Request on 20:03:18, 19 July 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by Carvic65

Carvic65 (talk) 20:03, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Carlos Vicioso, Abelardo Vicioso's son. I'm just noticing that my article about my father was denied to publish because it's a translation of the article about him in Wikipedia in Spanish, which it's true, BUT I WAS THE ONE WHO CONTRIBUTED WITH WIKIPEDIA.ES GIVING ALL THAT INFORMATION. So, of course, it has to be the same article, but translated. That's the biography of my father, not only because I'm his son and I knew him while alive, but also because he's a very renown person in my country, the Dominican Republic, and beyond, and his life is publicly debated in several Dominican books and articles, by the way reviewed for me.

@Carvic65, I've formatted the article Draft:Abelardo_Vicioso, which should give you a head start, you should provide links, even in Spanish in your references. I'm not fluent in Spanish, so I doubt if I can be much more assistance, but feel free to ask. You might try Help:Other languages. Regards -- 009o9 (talk) 21:13, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

Request on 14:36:14, 25 July 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by Carvic65

Carvic65 (talk) 14:36, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Carlos Vicioso, trying to submit my article about my father Abelardo Vicioso, Dominican writer, and I want to send you some pics (photos) of documents, degrees, certificates, etc., that may contribute to raise the credibility of the text. How do I do? Can you please give me a contact e-mail where I can send you the referred pics, if possible?

@Carvic65 if you own the license to the images (i.e., you are the photographer) you can upload them to Wikimedia. You will need to keep track of the file names, then we can create a category to make them easier to find. Again, the copyright owner must do the upload and give a release.
Additionally, if Abelardo Vicioso is a Spanish language writer, do we need a full biography in the English version? It seems to me that a short stub article, linking to the Spanish biography would suffice. If you need to email me. there is a link in the left column on this page "Email this user" -- Regards -- 009o9 (talk) 16:49, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
