WikiProject Indonesia Collaboration
Hey there, I just want to ask for your suggestion. As we all know, there are just few "good" Indonesian articles, which means lots of effort is needed to improve them. What do you reckon about this collaboration plan? Please put any suggestion and respond on the WikiProject's talk page. Cheers, take care -- Imoeng12:02, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Collaboration
The new collaboration page has been created. For now, it is a "collaboration of the week" with standard rules and stuff, which later we can decide for any changes. But now, lets start nominating articles (one article for each person!) and voting. Please take a look at the page. Cheers -- Imoeng11:21, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
OMG!! What is it with Tamaneden and changing names into Indonesian? Better be careful or he will start translating whole articles into indonesian! Maybe he is not aware of Wikipedia convetions. Merbabu04:16, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
He has made a vast amount of English => Indonesian. He is correct in that there are many inconsistencies, but it is not about rules, or what can be translated, rather it is about accepted usage. Anyway, you know all this - lol - i just hope Tamaneden can see it. I suspect he has quite a bit to offer, if only he didn't spend all his time trying to make his (incorrect and stupid) point.Merbabu04:16, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Demographics
Hi Drew, i noticed your edits to Banten. Where did you get the figures on religion? Ie, what proportion each religion makes up. SOme of the other provinces lack this info and it would be good to include it. Merbabu09:45, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Civil
It is important to keep a cool head, especially when responding to comments against you or your edits. Personal attacks and disruptive comments only escalate a situation; please keep calm and remember that action can be taken against other parties if necessary. Attacking another user back can only satisfy trolls or anger contributors and leads to general bad feeling. Please try to remain civil with your comments. Thanks! *drew01:31, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
Could you give me an example? :). I think I was taught by Caniago, a senior Wikipedian :)
First, thanks for your recent revert on The Tin Mine. The synopsis had actually been written by me, and was copied and pasted from here and posted onto IMDb by "anonymous" (if you think the review is worthwhile, maybe you could external link it? I generally wouldn't want to do a link to my own sites). I was able to go on IMDb and request a change so I can receive proper credit for the synopsis. Eventually, I'll get around to writing up a plot summary for the Wikipedia article as well. Thanks again.
Secondly, I've been meaning to take a crack at starting on article on Cinema of Indonesia, but need help locating some English-language references. There are probably books, but I don't know any titles, and besides, my ability to access such things is limited by the fact I am living in Thailand and English-language reference materials are sometimes difficult to find and often expensive. Do you know any Internet-based resources on Indonesian film? --Wisekwai09:48, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi, sorry about the copyvio on image you removed from the Medan article. I took the image reference from the Indonesian Wikipedia, but I should have read the conditions of use more carefully. I'll try and find a non-copyrighted version. Regards. Davidelit04:34, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Hello, *drew, and thank you for the support on my recent RfA. The final tally was 72/1/0, and I have now been entrusted with the mop. I'll be tentative with the new buttons for a while, and certainly welcome any and all feedback on how I might be able to use them to help the project. All the best, and thanks again! — Deville (Talk) 03:13, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!

The September 2006 Council elections will open for nominations on 18 September 2006. The voting will run from 25 September 2006 until 30 September 2006. If you wish to be a candidate or a member of the elections staff, please list yourself!

TangoTango has written a script for a bot that will list new members of Esperanza, which will help those who welcome new Esperanzains greatly!
Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.
Hi *drew. You are prominent on the Indonesia geography pages, so I'd like your opinion on the appropriate structure for Indonesian province pages. Someone has gone through a lot of the province pages recently and created disambiguation pages. So if you go to Riau it is now a disambiguation page, instead of the page for the province. Doing this has also broken dozens (or hundreds) of links to these pages. I think for provinces like Riau the term is primary associated with the province and so the province page should be directly associated with the term. This follows the same argument which allowed Java to link to the Java (island) page instead of to a disambiguation page even though there are many alternate meanings for Java.
The pages in question are Riau, Jambi, Riau Islands, Yogyakarta, etc. Let me know what you think. I've already nominated some of these pages to be moved back to where they were, so you can vote on their talk pages when you get a chance. Cheers. (Caniago08:31, 26 September 2006 (UTC))
Hi. I had just left a message on id:Pembicaraan:Vanessa Carlton when I noticed that you had created the Vanessa Carlton article on the Indonesian Wikipedia. I recognised your username from this Wikipedia (great work on the film articles!), and on your userpage it says you are in Indonesia. Sorry to bother you, but a few months ago somebody added unsourced chart positions for the Indonesia singles chart to the Vanessa Carlton article. They are: "A Thousand Miles" - #1, "Ordinary Day" - #3, "Pretty Baby" - #20, "White Houses" - #22, "Who's to Say" - #45. So far, I haven't been able to find sources for the positions and I don't even know whether they're accurate, so I was wondering if you could provide a source for them, and/or knew what the official name of the Indonesia singles chart is and which organisation compiles it. Also, if you knew any other chart/sales information for Carlton and/or the release dates of any of her singles, particularly "Who's to Say", then that would be great. You don't have to do this, of course, but I would appreciate very much because I am working to expand the article Harmonium (Vanessa Carlton album). Thanks. A humble request for your opinion
Hello! I hope you are feeling fine. Recently, you expressed an oppose opinion with regards to my RfA. I would like to thank your feedback on this but I need another critical feedback from you. If you could spare a few minutes to voice any concerns you may be having with regards to my contributions to this project since my last RfA on this page, I would be most grateful. Once again, thank you for your time! --Siva1979Talk to me06:00, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
WikiProject Indonesia has grown incredibly! Two months ago, when the project was created, there were only two members, but now, we have got over 20 members, and hopefully it will keep increasing. Because of this large number, now WikiProject Indonesia has it's own newsletter, which will be delivered every week on Monday morning, around 22:00 (UTC). If you have any idea and suggestions, please do not hesitate to contribute to the next newsletters. We also need to find a better banner for the newsletter, so just post it on project's talk page. With your help, we can reach the even the impossible goal! "Bersatu kita teguh, bercerai kita runtuh"
What's new?
Several ways to increase the interactions between editors have been proposed. For now, the best solution would be the IRC Channel just for WikiProject Indonesia. Please go to #wikipedia-id if you have had experiences with IRC Channels. Or read the instructions at Wikipedia:IRC.
Three new barnstar design have been proposed! If you find a great editor with excellent contributions to Indonesia-related articles, give him/her a barnstar, or maybe two or three! See the barnstars at Wikiproject Indonesia Barnstars.
Articles improvements
The previous two weeks were maybe the best and tiring week for some of us. On the good side, we have got a new Good Article, which is Toraja. Congratulations for all editors who have involved in the expansion. Yet we have failed to get two Good Article status, which are Tourism in Indonesia and Indonesia. However with the spirit of 1945 we will always accomplish many things!
Starting this week (October 17), the collaboration durations have been extended, so now we can collaborate to improve a particular article for two weeks straight. Please leave any recommendations or suggestions on the collaboration talk page.

Hi *drew/Archive 3! Starting today, the Indonesia Collaboration is Java. Come along and help make this an article worthy of the world’s greatest island. There’s a suggested to-do list on the the talk page to which you can add, or just pick a task. All sorts of tasks are required, Images, Citations, Research, Copy Edit; you name it, it needs to be done – this important article needs your help!! Regards -- Imoeng08:37, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Last week, two more members have joined the project, and really boost the progress of articles editing. Danny Yee and Lestari, welcome to the project, hopefully you will enjoy your stay. So, we officially have got 26 members!
More than 440 articles have been tagged with the WikiProject Indonesia template, well done to all editors who have contributed this far. Also, while copy-editing is a very useful thing to do, researching and expanding the article, or maybe one or two sections would be extremely useful, because it is the goal of the collaboration, expanding and getting a good article status.

Articles improvements
We have got another Good Article nomination! Congratulations to all editors, especially Indon, who have improved it significantly, maybe you can give six barnstars. So, with the nomination, we officially have had four good articles. Hopefully we can get plenty good articles in the future, or even featured articles.
The last collaboration was not a huge success, the Pulau Dewata is still a "start" article and has not improved much. However, seems like the collaboration spirit is back and Java has improved gradually, thanks to all editors.
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.
Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

Hi again, *drew/Archive 3! This fortnight we've chosen: >>>Majapahit Kingdom<<<. Please help in referencing, check my newly added headings, improve prose, diagrams, but most importantly is RESEARCH so we can actually grow the article. Any other suggestions for improvement, please leave on the article's talk page. Yes, please discuss on talk page!
Also, can you please post suggestions for the following fortnight's collaboration. Please leave your suggestions at the bottom of this page. Hopefully i will remember to remind you to vote in about a week (someone else remind me!).--Merbabu14:22, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Hello there *drew/Archive 3. For the next two weeks we have chosen >>>Indonesian War of Independence<<< for the Indonesia Collab. Also, please vote for the next fortnight. Maybe we should chose a stub article. So far, we have had already longish articles and they are therfore hard to expand. Here's a list of Indonesian underdeveloped articles: [2]. Please let me know if you have any suggestions (or if you do not want me to message you about the collabs). kind regards --Merbabu12:50, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Abu Bakar Bashir.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECU≈talk03:21, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
