Unprintworthy redirects

Hi Σ, thank you for the marvellous job done by your SigmaBot. There are still plenty of unprintworthy redirects to be fixed (see 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5). I hope you will find the time to work also on them. Thank you in advance and excuse me for my insistence. --Checco (talk) 15:49, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi Σ, I know about the issue raised by an editor because I followed your edits and talk page over the last two weeks. As a reminder of what I would like your bot to do, I am simply going to copy the request made at Wikipedia:Bot requests (I hope it is enough):
Some pages have been moved and I'm asking you to bypass the redirects in all the other pages as they are unencyclopedic, bizarre and de facto unprintworthy. The pages are:
All the pages containing one of the five original article titles should be edited. You can check 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 to see what articles still need to be edited by your bot according to the bot request for approval. --Checco (talk) 08:00, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Please excuse me. Christian Democracy for the Autonomies was moved to Christian Democracy for Autonomies (all the pages containing unprintworthy redirects are listed in link1). In link2, link3, link4, and link5 you will find the unprintworthy redirects of the other four articles. --Checco (talk) 16:21, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. --Σ talkcontribs 05:05, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks to you – a lot! Could you also fix the articles at link2 [unprintworthy redirects to Christian Democracy (Italy, historical) instead of Christian Democracy (Italy)]? Thanks! --Checco (talk) 11:28, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

AWB script broke template

AWB run by you broke the use of the template at Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Compare your version to the previous version. I think the proper template here is Infobox SSR, but if you feel there's a more appropriate template, please feel free to implement it. I only ask that you implement it correctly without breaking anything. If you don't have the time or the desire to fix it, just say the word and I'll revert to the previous version (and maybe try to clean it up some). —Firespeaker (talk) 01:01, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Infobox SSR got deleted by a TfD. I'll try fixing it by hand. --Σ talkcontribs 01:20, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
Hm, you redid it as a former country (which it wasn't), and managed to get rid of a lot of the information I'd added to the template. See how I had it as a former subdivision. Do you have more information on the deletion of Infobox SSR? That seems like something that probably shouldn't be deleted. I was all ready to fix it (making population density an automatic calculation, adding some fields, etc.). —Firespeaker (talk) 00:36, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
WP:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2011_May_14#Template:Infobox_SSR I was never aware of the subdivision's infobox. You can undo my replacement of the infobox if you wish. --Σ talkcontribs 02:12, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Hello, Σ I have read your comments about speedy deletion at User talk:Ryan Vesey, and it appears that you are under the impression that "promotion" applies only to commercial promotion in order to sell something. Your signature

Your signature is stylish and well-designed, and I like it. However, the code behind it has been bothering me for quite some time, as it contains some invalid CSS code:

<span style="text-shadow:gray 0.2em 0.2em 0.1em;class=texhtml">[[User:Σ|Σ]] (etc.)

Hades 2

In the new article "Hades 2", you added "notability" and "primarysources" tags. Fine.

1. Wikipedia already has an "investment" in the video game Hades 2.

  • The English Wikipedia includes a "List of first-person shooters" that contains Hades 2. Although I have worked extensively on this list, "Hades 2" was in the list before I arrived.

In other words, the new article "Hades 2" seeks to fill a void in the English Wikipedia, not simply add useless material.

2. By Brazilian standards, Hades 2 is a successful (i.e. notable) game. I have added a reference in the new article "Hades 2" demonstrating this notability.

I hope that you will now remove the "notability" and "primarysources" tags. Thanks.

ProResearcher (talk) 10:04, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

I added the tags because the references did not convince me of the game's notability. The game needs to ave been mentioned in various reliable sources, like a newspaper. --Σ talkcontribs 18:18, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

The Hades 2 article now includes a " Development" section with another third-party reference. (It's from a dissertation, which according to "Wikipedia:Citation templates" is an acceptable reference source.)

I hope that you will now remove the "primarysources" tag. Thanks. ProResearcher (talk) 05:53, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

Although I think it could be better-referenced, it is done. --Σ talkcontribs 05:59, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

Speedy tagging

Hi. You tagged Justin romero just one minute after it was created, when it contained only the words "Justin Romero". That is too soon: many new users put in a few words and then click "Save page" to see how it looks, and it is WP:BITEy and discouraging if a speedy template pops up immediately. You should allow at least several minutes to see if more appears. As three hours have gone by without the newbie editing again, I have deleted it, but it is likely that he planned to add more and has been scared away, perhaps for good, which is a pity. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 09:30, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

Some other admins did that with me till i learnt to put it on my user page, But why couldnt the newbie use preview instead? Who is justin romero anyway? He could of just been making a page about himself or a friend. Goldblooded (talk) 12:13, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

In my opinion it seemed like a random "I want to be on Wikipedia" A7-able person with negative notability. --Σ talkcontribs 17:43, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
He very likely was, but just possibly he was a potential contributor, and even if he was a wannabe he might have become a useful contributor if welcomed and shown the ropes. Now he's gone, probably for ever. It would have done no harm to wait ten minutes. We have a terrible, but unfortunately well-earned, reputation for being unfriendly to newcomers. SUL

I wish to usurp the username Σ on the German, Japanese, Hebrew, and Simple English Wikipedias. This edit confirms that. --Σ talkcontribs 23:30, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Sock

You said you smelled a sock in relation to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adikiaphobia--I think you were right. User:Adikiaphobia, User:Powysman, and User:Ceredigion have all been blocked now. If you feel the urge, and to possibly prevent future disruption, you can consider starting an SPI (it's bedtime for me now, so I won't). In short, there is nothing wrong with your sniffer. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 05:40, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. I've nailed another one. --Σ talkcontribs 05:51, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Hoax?

Re Damon salvatore: see Damon Salvatore. If you see any more from Chloebland (talk · contribs), check for similar. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:38, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

It was written hoax-like, and I didn't check for other pages. My mistake, sorry. (Hm, this feels weird, being contacted by an arbitrator (I think)) --Σ talkcontribs 23:55, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
