Shekhar Bhojraj is a spine surgeon based in Mumbai[1], India. He completed his medical degree at the Seth G.S. Medical College and KEM Hospital in Mumbai, where he later specialized in orthopedic surgery. ShekharcBhojraj is know as India's first dedicated spine surgeon.

Early Life

Bhojraj was born into a Brahmin family on March 2, 1957, in Mumbai. His father, Dr. Yeshwant G. Bhojraj, was an anesthetist, while his mother was a homemaker.

The Spine Foundation - A Journey

The Spine Foundation[2] (TSF) was established by of him as a registered charitable trust with the Charity Commissioner of Greater Bombay. TSF started as the social arm of the Spine Unit at KEM Hospital, and it has since grown into a comprehensive organization focused on delivering spine care to underprivileged communities. TSF’s efforts include organizing medical camps, setting-up Rural Spine Care Centres (RSCCs), conducting outreach programs, and training local doctors and health workers to ensure sustainable spine care delivery in the remote area of india such as SEARCH gadchiroli, Swami Vivekanand Health Mission Society, Dehradun[3] etc.
