Mells War Memorial is a First World War memorial in the village of Mells, Somerset, in south-western England. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, the memorial takes the form of a marble column topped by a sculpture of Saint George slaying a dragon (pictured). At the base of the column, the names of the village's war dead are inscribed on stone panels. The memorial is flanked by rubble walls in local stone, on top of which grows a yew hedge. Low stone benches protrude from the walls to allow wreaths to be laid. The memorial is one of multiple buildings and structures in Mells designed by Lutyens. The memorial was unveiled on 26 June 1921 by Brigadier-General Arthur Asquith, whose brother is commemorated on it and whose father was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for much of the war. Additional panels were fixed to the wall to commemorate the Second World War. It is a grade II* listed building and since 2015 has been part of a national collection of Lutyens's war memorials. Data and information Sec merge Not agreeWell, first of all it is the first time i use this feature, so if i have created a new subject uselessly i do apologize. data is anything not porcessed, i mean, speaking in the enterprise software world data would be the brut the prime matter EX. a table with the data of calls made relating them with the phone number that made it and the time it lasted. Information is the data procesed, EX. a report indicating all the calls made from an area that lasts more than x minutes. directly out of the data base but with at least one critery. theres is something else, Knoledge, and Knoledge is a grou of information heavyly procesed for a specific objective. therefore, you should encript data but there is no point in encrypting inforamtion, however you do have other security measures for information. that the reason i dont agree in merging the contents. please feel free to contact me ironwill982@hotmail.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.87.1.171 (talk) 21:04, 26 August 2008 (UTC) Request to participate in University of Washington survey on tool to quickly understand Wikipedians’ reputationsHello. I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington. In April, we met with some local Wikipedians to learn what they would like to know about other editors’ history and activities (within Wikipedia) when interacting with them on talk pages. The goal of those sessions was to gather feedback to help design an embedded application that could quickly communicate useful information about other Wikipedians. We have now created a few images that we feel represent some of what our participants thought was important. We would appreciate it if you took a few minutes of your time to complete an online survey that investigates whether or not these images would be useful to you. Your quick contribution would be very valuable to our research group and ultimately to Wikipedia. (When finished, the code for this application will be given over to the Wikipedia community to use and/or adjust as they see fit.) Willing to spend a few minutes taking our survey? Click this link. Please feel free to share the link with other Wikipedians. The more feedback, the better! The survey is completely anonymous and takes less than 10 minutes to complete. All data is used for university research purposes only. Thank you for your time! If you have any questions about our research or research group, please visit our user page.
