Writing a Lead Section

- an intro to the article and summary of most important contents
- clear, accessible style with neutral PoV
- should stand on its own as a concise (no more than 4 paragraphs) overview of the article's topic. It should
- identify the topic
- establish context
- explain why the topic is notable (in first few sentences)
- summarize the most important points, including any prominent controversies.
The first sentence:
- should tell the nonspecialist reader what, or who, the subject is.
- should be in plain uncluttered English
- should include (as subject, if possible) the page title, not necessarily verbatim
