License tagging for Image:Sit Times No.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sit Times No.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:08, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Stub categories

[edit]

Hi Harrypotter. WP:WSS has so far tried to avoid ethnicity-based stub templates and I feel that such a categorization is a step in the wrong direction, but that is my take on it. However, the reason I'm writing this post is that your project seems to consistently hardcode stub categories into articles. Please stop doing this, it makes our stub sorting work impossible. Instead, add the relevant stub template to the article(s). The templates are designed to sort articles into the associated stub categories automatically, but please don't add the actual stub category (e.g. [[Category:Writer stubs]] ) into the articles. Doing so breaks our stub sorting work to pieces. Happy editing. Valentinian T / C 21:23, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Anti-anarchism nominated for deletion

AfD nomination of Statoid

[edit]

An editor has nominated Statoid, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Statoid and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 21:59, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Tatar Union of the Godless

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Tatar Union of the Godless, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Tatar Union of the Godless. Re: Edzell

[edit]

Thanks, glad you like it! No, I don't recall that they do mention if Schaw went to Uraniborg, it was really only mentioned in relation to Edzell, but Schaw is certainly discussed elsewhere. I don't have the book to hand, Its in my local library - next time I go I shall check. As you have noticed, its up for GA review, I'd be really grateful if you could improve it any more, or at least keep an eye on the page in case you can address any comments that come up with regard to Rosicrucianism etc, as that side of things is a bit outside my scope of knowledge. Kind Regards, Jonathan Oldenbuck (talk) 15:54, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Sure enough, the GA comments are back (see the talk page), and some realte to these aspects. I think I am muddling up Hermeticism, Rosicrucians and Freemasonry? If you get a few spare minutes, could you take a look? Regards, Jonathan Oldenbuck (talk) 09:02, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
I checked in Glendinning et al's book, and it doesn't mention Schaw in relation to Uraniborg, it only says that James VI visited. Regards Jonathan Oldenbuck (talk) 11:20, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Broke Hall

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Broke Hall requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Mspraveen (talk) 09:04, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi there! The article, in itself, is very small and also does not cite any references. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may try to address these aspects while you put a {{hangon}} template on the article page. I hope this helps. Cheers! Mspraveen (talk) 09:19, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Repost of Leonid Savin

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Leonid Savin, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Leonid Savin is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Leonid Savin saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please feel free to use deletion review, but do not continue to repost the article if it is deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. brewcrewer (yada, yada) 15:39, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of David Zolotarev

[edit]

A tag has been placed on David Zolotarev requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

Hey, it was my pleasure. I have a huge interest in this subject and I enjoyed resurrecting the article. Stay in touch and let me know if I can ever be of further assistance. Ecoleetage (talk) 20:08, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Tell ya what -- start the article offline, then email it to me by way of Wikipedia (I am email enabled), and I can add or expand on it. We can bang it out, have it properly referenced, and then put it up. Always remember: never post an unfinished or incomplete article as your new offering -- not everyone has esoteric academic interests!

TWT

Your ref didn't actually support the statement about the company producing TWTs, so I removed it again. If you'd like to find some info about who actually did deliver TWTs, that might be of interest. Dicklyon (talk) 04:41, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Your references to EEV and Feranti are a bit UK-centric. There were also several U.S. companies producing TWTs in the sixties (Hughes, RCA, Westinghouse, Watkins-Johnson, among others). The Tube Guys is a new book that tracks the history of major tube companies. I'll try to add more info on this at some point. Willus (talk) 18:11, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

[edit]

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Thanks for uploading Image:Highgate Cemetery Cover.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Proposed deletion of Leopold Engel

No substantial coverage in third party, reliable sources. No "lasting and historical interest and impact" per WP:Bio

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Cowley Club article for deletion?

[edit]

I was reading the discussion page for the LARC article where you mentioned that some geezer was proposing the Cowley Club article for deletion. I've only just found out about the said club. You may be interested to read my comments and speculation about Harry Cowley and his vigilantes on this blog (as 'ban'). Fighting Mosleyite fascists doesn't necessarily put someone in a different category from say the 43 Group who were funded by East End gangster Jack Spot. What was actually going on with rental and squatted properties, and the fruit and vegetables market too, in Brighton after WW2? Simplistic praise for Cowley as an ex-chimney sweep Robin Hood figure doesn't cut the mustard. Anyway you may find something useful in the stuff I've posted to the transpontine blog (but hey, since when was south of the river the other side?).82.153.29.32 (talk) 04:07, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

'Error' in registration of title regarding 62 Fieldgate Street at the Land Registry

[edit]

From the LARC talk page:

(begin)

Research at the Land Registry and Companies House has shown the owner of 62 Fieldgate Street (with no charges on its title, so the asset is not mortgaged) to be Fieldgate Action Resource Centre Limited, company number 3836799, a company incorporated on 3 September 1999 which changed its name to London Action Resource Centre Limited on 5 February 2004. Curiously the number of that company as registered at Companies House is 3836099. Never mind the presence or absence of an initial 0 in the number, which relates only to the fact that Companies House uses an 8-digit number in the anticipation that all 8 will be needed some day. There seems to have been an error in the recording of the company's number when the title to the property at 62 Fieldgate was registered. There is no currently active company with the number 3836799... Explanation anyone?

(end)

Worth digging into a little bit maybe? Rising Tide UK, "Taking Action on the Root Causes of Climate Change," has hallmarks of a corporate/state-created pseudo-movement. Absolutely no shadow of a doubt about that. The climate has always changed and will always change. This is very clearly the realm of serious propaganda and manipulation. I have nominated Ivan Teodorovich, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ivan Teodorovich. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Carbon Rodney 09:55, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Ah, thanks for notifying me - maybe I forgot to press submit the first time. Done now. If there was more to the article than a sentence I would support its inclusion but, in trying to find out anything about him, I could only find that he was indeed the Commissar for Food. However, if you have more, then please add more and I will no longer support its deletion [and also you will prove your google-fu is stronger than mine ;)]. --Carbon Rodney 10:10, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Unfortunately I can't come to the next London meetup - I live in Nottingham and it's a bit of a trek coming down to London on a Sunday. However, I'm very keen to capture as much feedback as possible about the WLA event - I've started a page at Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art/Feedback or you can email / Skype /IRC me if you want to talk about anything in particular. A vile right-wing racist Brit immigrant called "Rod in America"

[edit]

Hi Harrypotter,

dunno whether you've seen this. I'd sussed this guy "Rod in America" out as a racist years ago. Now he's almost completely open about it. He says the "financial crisis" has been caused by "political correctness", which forced banks to lend to too many poor black people!! And apparently anyone who doesn't realise, is stupid! Up against the wall!!!

Take care,

N (ex-RM) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.120.116.146 (talk) 09:18, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

  • That guy Richard took it upon himself to tell me off, on the talk page for the IP address I used, for posting the above here. I then found the address had been banned, so had to set up a one-timer to respond. I might as well answer here:

Hi Richard, I won't say thanks for your input, because that would be fake, as is the basic message of Wikipedia. As for remembering, memory doesn't come into anything here. I don't like this right-wing 'people's Establishment' (obviously fanatically brown-tonguing the real 'Establishment') ideological-lie-pushing despotic business enterprise called 'Wikipedia' one bit. And I despise the aims both of its bosses and of those who operate in its many-echeloned structure of cops - who function as officials in something a step on from (although not at all subverting, superseding, or undermining) Google. Do you get it? IBM, Microsoft, Google, Wikipedia. Even small areas of knowledge or geographical areas now have their local Wikipedia cop. Wikipedia is a technological revolutionisation of democracy and just as shitty as the political version. It is just as much, if not more so, about enclosure and banning critique of the underlying social relations, all under the headline of 'debate'. In these terrible times, it couldn't be anything else. So I won't be posting here again, or if I do it won't be to repeat the above; it will be to achieve limited aims of my own, and not from this IP. If I were to encourage you to 'remember' something... Well, no, I wouldn't bother. But if other readers of this blurb want to remember something, I'd suggest (I won't say 'please') that it could be that some people are at least a little bit sussed as to what's going on with this Wikipedia entity... Lastly, and by the way, I recall during the great miners' strike of 1984-85 that some of the striking miners used ironically to call the police the "neutrals". NPOV my arse! Ars Memorativa and 'Masonry' of the 'speculative' variety

[edit]

Hi, I'm going to be doing some further work on the Art of memory article when I get through with a reorganization of the still-dangling Method of loci article. When I get to the 'Art of memory' additions I would like to add a section on the relationship between speculative masonry and the art of memory. While I do have (I think) a clear grasp of what is going on with genuine speculative masonry (as a result of my extended study of the art of memory), I don't have access to solid citations from works about Masonry that point out the relationships in a relatively unambiguous way (the nature of the subject being what it is...). You appear to have a stronger background in things 'masonic' as well as an interest in memory natural and artificial. I wonder if you might be willing to help, or at least point me to some quality publications I can mine for citations? Folks setting out from the cities of the West might appreciate at least letting the cat's tail out of the bag. Thanks! --Picatrix (talk) 09:22, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing me to Stevenson. Looks like he's a proper Yates fan. I'm surprised I missed his work, yet gratified he shares some of my conclusions. I had long suspected Dickson as a vector, but Stevenson seems to have connected the dots in a solid, verifiable way. By 'cross searching' Stevenson I found good material in works by Marsha Keith Schuchard and Vaughan Hart as well. I should be able to throw together something viable.
As for the 'lay' of the land I assume you are playing on the meaning of 'lay' as song? I doubt you'll find much that's explicit regarding 'Celtic' ars memorativa (if, indeed, anything at all), and the phrase, as you doubtless know, is attested with 'lay' as position, direction or state of the land. But I think I follow your metaphorical twist. You'll probably have luck approaching the subject indirectly through research on ritual procession, pilgrimage and pilgrims' songs. Pilgrimage routes with set rituals (involving recitation or singing) occurring at fixed points will probably be your best point of ingress. Since Latin literature on the ancient Celts is not extensive, If you are looking for possible attestations of Celtic practices of this sort you might do better to look at the ancient eastern fringe of the Celtic world (Galata, Galatians, Asia Minor, etc.) where cultural vestiges (however faint) might have been preserved in Greek or later Byzantine texts. The ginger heads had a kingdom in central Anatolia for some time... Good luck! --Picatrix (talk) 23:14, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi, Harrypotter. Don't have a reference right now, but the (also uncited) Russian Wiki article I read (which actually has a much more well-developed biography of VVS than the American one) lists him as being killed by the Greens (who did participate in the Civil War in the Ukraine). But I will try looking for material to add – for sure. PasswordUsername (talk) 09:19, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Got it, Harrypotter – source already added. (I found the online HRONOS biography, which is based on a 2003 Russian-published reference book – seems reliable enough.) PasswordUsername (talk) 09:37, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Bakunin a government agent?

[edit]

Hi mate,

I saw your postings over at the Bakunin talk page and was just wondering, what evidence do you have for suggesting Bakunin was in fact in the pay of the French (Russian?) governments? Please note that I'm not intending this as a sort of aggressive question, despite having Bakuninist sympathies I'm genuinely interested in the issue and not looking for an argument. Apologies if you've included it somewhere in your writings already, as I didn't read the entire talk page.

Anyway, if you have time, I would be interested in your response.

Cheers Jonathanmills (talk) 04:46, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I'm not quite sure about the confusion between the French and Russian governments here, bearing in mind that the French government referred to here is that of Louis Blanc and other socialists who had come to power in the February Revolution. James G. Chastain discusses this in 'Bakunin as a French Secret Agent in 1848' in History Today. Billingsley suggests, somewhat ironically, that the French government paid him to go away. (see Bakunin, Yokohama, and the Dawning of the Pacific Era. I think it is quite clear that in 1848 Bakunin got backing from French revolutionaries to spread the revolution. As for Marx's suggestion he was a Russian agent, I think that has been generally dismissed. However, while in Siberia he did have a state sinecure from his cousin Nikolay Muravyov-Amursky, then the governor - but whether that makes him a government agent I'm not sure. Muravyov was a liberal and Bakunin was linked with plans to break away from the Russian empire and joining or copying the USA (Kroptkin came across traces of this years later). Myself I feel that Bakunin was a more effective revolutionary before he got bogged down with anarchism and all the ideological baggage that went with that. A little bit of first time tragedy second time farce.Harrypotter (talk) 23:48, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the comprehensive and illuminating reply! Yes, I must have gotten the wrong end of the stick, as I thought you were repeating the old rumour (slander?) that he was a Russian agent. Thanks for the interesting info. Jonathanmills (talk) 11:18, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Kalmykia

[edit]

Hi.

I was out of the loop for QUITE some time, and I don't even remember the details of the discussion, off-hand, but when I said "outlaws" yes it was, to my knowledge a bit toward the end of the campaign ... but in regards to that I think, even from the get-go, they described us as outlaws that could be "used to their benefit" meaning we had no real place as far as they were concerned.

Anecdotally, and this is from people with second-hand information, themselves (as my father was 5 when he got to the country in 1952), the soviet campaign of genocide against the kalmyks was much worse than history describes. ... then again, when telling a story, you can exaggerate ... but my dad said it was closer to 80% of the Kalmyk population that perished. ... I like how he told it, too ... "they could haul us into cattle cars, but they could never make us weep." They just didn't believe in that. They were a strong, stoic people (I'm a sentimental sop, I guess I get that from my mom).

What are you going to do, now, eh? Every Kalmyk who can is escaping Kalmykia, the younger ones especially ... and they have sponsers in the US because of the Kalmyk community, here. I'm glad we're here, though. We finally got a piece of the pie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ironywrit (talkcontribs) 23:57, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

The phrase largely fictitious organisation seems in breach of WP:WEASEL and questions the existence of the organisation. (The article has also been tagged for weasel words since.) It thus seems reasonable to question whether the article refers to a real organisation. As for the article on psychogeography, it has been tagged for being like an essay and may contain weasel words. National-Anarchism

[edit]

I've radically improved the National-Anarchism article. Any thoughts you would like to share on its talk page? --Loremaster (talk) 17:51, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

The article Leninist League (UK) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of how this might meet notability guidelines. Lacks citations to significant coverage in reliable sources.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RadioFan (talk) 12:37, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

change of accessdate in template on Compton Bishop

Hi, On your edit of Compton Bishop you changed accessdate to access date within the cite web template. Was this intentional as it means the date doesn't display in the reflist?— Rod talk 14:08, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Randy Kehler requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:23, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Please use the move tab at the top of each article if you want to rename an article, rather than copying text to a new page, as with Karl Schröder, Karl Schröder I and Lewis Cohen, Lewis Cohen (mayor). Moving transfers the edit history -- the attribution required by the GFDL Wikipedia operates under. See WP:MOVE for more info, and please tag any further instances of cut & paste moves with {{db-histmerge}} or list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. I notice you're persisting in inserting "radical right" term into the lead when it is not supported by the body. In fact, the term "radical right" does not appear at all in the article. Please review Wikipedia:Lead section#Relative emphasis. Failure to adhere to the guidance provided there and continuing to engage in a slow-moving edit war to insert this contrary to the guideline may be considered a form of disruptive editing. –xenotalk 14:52, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Fonthill Gigfford Church.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. BM-WP mailout list

[edit]

Dear HP,

I'm writing because you have indicated your interest in the collaboration between the British Museum and Wikipedia currently underway. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Also, if you are willing, I would like to add you to a mailout that I will be sending frequently during this month to try and keep everyone related to the project informed of all the activities underway. That way, we can as a group co-ordinate our efforts and get the best outcome in the short space of time. People on the list include wikimedians (London-based and global) and British Museum staff (Departmental contacts and individual curators). It is also a place where, if you have a request or idea you can write to me and I'll pass the information to the group. Finally, it is where any prizes that become available will be announced first.

By way of a privacy policy, I will be using blind-carbon-copy so your email address won't be published if you don't want it to be. I will only share the list of addresses with the executive of Wikimedia-UK and my supervisor within the British Museum.

Would you be happy to be added to this mailout? If so, please contact me with your email address.

None of them are really notable in themselves, either than to being post and most of them lack information to become FAs, or even GAs... Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

Isle Abbots

[edit]

Thanks for your edits to Isle Abbots. Some of the detail about the church might be more appropriate at Church of St Mary the Virgin, Isle Abbotts rather than the more general village article - or it could go in both.— Rod talk 15:30, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your response. The church is a Grade I listed building - which is considered inherently notable by WP:HSITES etc (& have enough sources available to demonstrate notability) & I created it when changing all the red links to blue at Grade I listed buildings in South Somerset which itself is part of the wider Grade I listed buildings in Somerset which is mirrored (although less developed) for each of the counties of England. Some of the articles created as part of those hundreds of stubs created have been picked up and developed by others - often with local knowledge and interest. I also noticed the spelling variation when I contacted you - but the GI listed buildings use the titles at Images of England which are drawn from the English Heritage National Monuments Record.— Rod talk 13:17, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
As for what else could be added to the village article - WP:UKCITIES has lots of good suggestions & at Wikipedia:WikiProject Somerset we are gradually working our way through improving the articles for settlements in the country - starting with getting those with over 5,000 population up to GA.— Rod talk 13:39, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
