The Hermit Crabs

[edit]

Why did you delete my brand new article on The Hermit Crabs. The article was still being edited. A rare new band on an important label? It already had several internal and external references and links, a discography and a history of the band and their current lineup and links. This kind of thing is not very constructive. I have been a user for about an hour and a half now and was building this entry based on the same info in other articles. the article was still being edited and was less than an hour old Indiewiki 12:06, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Okay, will do :) I can handle myself, though, but if I stumble on a really mean vandal, I'll remember your proposal, merci beaucoup (you don't mind if I say a few words in French, do you? My English isn't what it used to be) - Myanw 23:19, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Oh I didn't mean you implied anything wrong, what I was saying is that since most valdals I've come across since I started RC patrols are just kids tryin' to be smartmouths, they wouldn't hurt my user page that much, but you never know... I heard some pretty scary stories about some banned users' sockpuppets who can do real damage 'round here. Your proposal can come handy if I ever come across one of those :-)
By the way, I took a look at that page as you suggested, I'm willing to help so I put it on my watchlist, I did some minor corrections on an article already and will try to work things further - Myanw 23:29, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Deletion of Youtube atheists

Yesterday I was browsing the article because of it seemingly interesting topic. However today it has been deleted. No explanation in the deletion log or anything so I turn to you the deleter to provide the explanation. Best regards Lord Metroid 13:03, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

As recommended by you if I object to the deletion of the article I have done as you proposed, "An editor has asked for a deletion review of Youtube atheists. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article or speedy-deleted it, you might want to participate in the deletion review.", where 'An editor' refers to me. Hi there, I have seen that you deleted this article. Would you please give me an advice about the reasons for deletion without deletion request? Thanks for your help :-) --Markus Schweiss 08:19, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

--Markus Schweiss 17:29, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Serbian language films

[edit]

I noticed that you deleted Category:Serbian language films. There seems to be some dispute about that category and also Category:Croatian language films. They have been marked with {{db-self}} several times by SISLEY (talk · contribs) over the objections of another editor, even though he is not the original author. This category should probably not have been speedy deleted because of the dispute and instead taken to WP:CFD, as I've mentioned to SISLEY. Perhaps it should be undeleted. Thanks. --Ed (Edgar181) 15:13, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Cellfire

[edit]

I do not belive Cellfire qualified for speedy deletion. Under the G11 reason give it says that if the page was previously up for deletion but after disucssion, kept, it does not qualify under G11. Hi there. Can you please explain your reasons for deleting the Court Jesters article. I can't view the text to wholly remember the quality of it, but I recall there were a number of details that were not referenced. However it can be tidied up. Looks like you speedied this one this morning for vanispam, and I just wanted to check with you because it had been listed at WP:PNT, and there hadn't been time for a proper review. I've got no problem with foreign spam being axed quickly, but it looked to me that this one might have some notability, and would fall more under the exception of CSD A2 and it might be better to let it ride out the appointed time at PNT to see if something can be translated from it. But, I wanted to double check with you to make sure I wouldn't be stepping on your toes by restoring it so that it could be relisted there. Thanks! AKRadecki 15:15, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Regular deletion of articles and edit history purely for the sake of deleting articles and edit history

[edit]

You seem to do this a lot, and people have to hunt you down. Many of them have no clue why you deleted their articles' edit history and you don't give them a reason why, you just restore them.

Why do you do this? Are you doing it just to get more points? You always site WP:PROD, but that isn't a reason, it's a procedure.

This isn't a personal attack, I just don't see how there's a way that you're doing this "in good faith."

—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gigertron (talkcontribs) and was answered on the users talk-page

Lectonar, you didn't answer my question. You quoted procedure at me again. Deleting articles at random isn't part of the procedures, so I'll ask again.
Now the reason I ask is that most people aren't WP lawyers - people who care more about their personal fields of interest than WP. They contribute, someone irrationally destroys that contribution, and if they care enough, they learn the rules and come back and demand that it be put back.
Is your purpose to weed out people who don't know the un-deletion procedures, or who aren't motivated to learn them? Gigertron 03:42, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

HomeAway entry

[edit]

Why did you take down the HomeAway entry...I followed the guidelines as outlined by one of the editors AND followed the exact format of vegas.com, another travel site entry. All of my information was based on secondary sources, per your guidelines. I don't understand why vegas.com is on wikipedia but not HomeAway, which followed the exact same outline.
