Career

[edit]

Early Life

[edit]

Williamson grew up in Stewarton and played for local side Stewarton Annick. At the age of 18 he joined Kilwinning Rangers signing a dual contract for one season but never appeared for the first team.

Muirkirk

[edit]

In June 2015, Williamson signed for Muirkirk Juniors on a dual contract with Kilwinning Rangers under 19’s along with the majority of the squad. He made his debut on the opening game of the season coming on as a second half substitute against Darvel Juniors. With game time limited, Williamson left after one season having played 11 games in all competitions.

Stewarton Annick

[edit]

After leaving Muirkirk, Williamson joined local amateur side Stewarton Annick who were playing in the third division of the Ayrshire Amateur Football Association. He made is debut on August 6 2016 in a 5-4 victory over Minishant in which he scored the first goal. His second goal came on 24 September 2016 scoring a last minute equaliser in a 3-3 draw against Coylton. His final goal came in a 5-2 defeat against Symington Caledonian on 8 April 2017 scoring a free kick. At the end of the 2016-17 season, Stewarton Annick folded and Williamson left the club.

Viewfield Rovers

[edit]

After leaving Stewarton Annick, Williamson joined the re-formed Crookedholm AFC, the club his dad had played for, but due to the numbers the club never got going. Williamson therefore joined Viewfield Rovers who played in The Caledonian League.

His first goal came on August 16 2018 in a 5-3 defeat against St. Mungo’s in the League Cup. His second goal came on September 8 2018 scoring his first league goal in an 8-1 victory over Holytown Colts. His final goal for the club came on January 12 2019 in a 4-0 victory over Rothesay Brandane.

In the 2019-20 season, the club struggled with injuries, suspensions and lack of commitment which led to the team being unable to field teams. This resulted in Viewfield being suspended from the league for the rest of season due to unfulfilled fixtures.

Williamson remained at the club as they merged with Saturday morning team, West of Scotland A.F.C., taking their place in the Strathclyde Saturday Morning League for the 2020-21 season.

Girdle Toll

[edit]

After a long layoff due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Williamson left Viewfield and after months of not playing joined Ayrshire Sunday amateur side, Girdle Toll. He made his debut as a second half substitute against Troon Town on 13 February 2022.

He scored his first goal for the club in a 2-2 draw with Bobby’s Bar AFC on 13 November 2022.
