Turkey in the Council of Europe
Appearance
Turkey is a member of the Council of Europe.[1][2] Membership is obligatory for joining the European Union. As of 2023[update] Turkey has nearly a third of the cases pending at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).[3]
