Please fix Honduras's section of the FlagIOC2 data (and other places, etc.). Honduras recently changed its flag in 2022 — thus:
- So, the current flag should only be used (the image "File:Flag of Honduras.svg") if the year is 2022 or AFTER.
- For years BETWEEN 1949 and 2022, the image "File:Flag of Honduras (1949-2022).svg should be used / should appear.
- For years BEFORE 1949, the image File:Flag of Honduras (1866-1949).svg should be used. Paintspot Infez (talk) 00:10, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
Varied meaning of "ROC" depending on context
In the context of the Olympics, the country for the IOC abbreviation "ROC" displays incorrectly at the template Template talk:Medals table. Each NOC should display the actually name of the NOC, followed by its IOC abbreviation, e.g., "Norway (NOR). In the case of the Russian Olympic Committee, it displays the abbreviation twice "ROC (ROC). It should display "Russian Olympic Committee (ROC). Or it should display "Russian OC (ROC), if the full name is too long for the tables. The reason why it should not display "ROC" for the country name is because ROC is an abbreviation for Taiwan, not Russia.
- IOC = International Olympic Committee; NOC = National Olympic Committee;
- ROC=Republic of China, Taiwan (when used as a country abbreviation) or
- ROC=Russian Olympic Committee (when used as an IOC abbreviation)
I put in an edit request at Template talk:Medals table#Template-protected edit request on 22 February 2022, and was told that the change should happen in this template. Wherever the change needs to happen, could someone please fix it. Thank you. Sparkie82 (t•c) 03:13, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

Please fix over-capitalization as these phrases should not pretend to be country names.
- In Module:Country alias/data file, change
- name = "Independent Olympic Participants",
- to
- name = "Independent Olympic participants",
- and change
- name = "Olympic Athletes from Russia",
- to
- name = "Olympic athletes from Russia",
These show up at List of IOC country codes#Special codes for Olympics for example. Dicklyon (talk) 04:57, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
- Question: Is there a consensus for these moves? I have no issue performing the requested changes, but it's been seven hours since you've unilaterally moved these pages, and the discussion has had enough participation to conclude anything yet to determine whether your self-described bold move has been rubber-stamped. Primefac (talk) 07:33, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
- To editors Primefac and Dicklyon: please see also Template talk:Medals table#Template-protected edit request on 22 February 2022, which could be related to this request. P.I. Ellsworth - ed. put'r there 05:29, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- Since my moves were reverted and an RM discussion opened, we need to wait now for that to resolve. See Talk:Olympic_Athletes_from_Russia_at_the_2018_Winter_Olympics#Requested_move_16_February_2022. I don't think this is related to the discussion that Primefac linked. Dicklyon (talk) 05:40, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- That other edit request linked by Paine Ellsworth looks to be mostly unrelated, too. Dicklyon (talk) 05:42, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
Another curious development here is that the code at line 1265:
ROC_2020 = { name = "ROC", "Russian Olympic Committee flag.svg",
carries a flag image that is up for deletion at c:Commons:Deletion requests/File:Russian Olympic Committee flag.svg. P.I. Ellsworth - ed. put'r there 05:59, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- It won't be deleted; it took me about three weeks checking through various channels and editors that it was acceptable for upload. Primefac (talk) 08:04, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- Considering its extensive usage since it was uploaded a year ago, I'd say that's a good thing! P.I. Ellsworth - ed. put'r there 09:23, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
Unfortunately Primefac your crystal ball failed you this time with "It won't be deleted" File:Russian Olympic Committee flag.svg was deleted from commons "09:33, 28 July 2022" so now showing up in CAT:MISSFILE as a couple of thousand issues. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 12:13, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- Well, that's a load of shit. I'll put in the IOC flag until I can get this sorted out. Primefac (talk) 12:58, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

Sint Maarten
Please add code for Sint Maarten ( "SXM" - ISO code , or/and "MAA" - FINA code MAA. And add code of FINA "Suspended Member Federation" - "SMF" SMF. Thank you
WildCherry06 06:39, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
- It's going to take me some time to unravel all of the independent/suspended teams and code them in to the various modules, but I'll add Sint Maarten in a bit, though only MAA because it seems to be the only one used (unless I am wrong, in which case please feel free to point me towards where SXM is needed by this template). Primefac (talk) 19:27, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
- ISO code SXM is working! - Sint Maarten - my fault :(. But these codes give an error in template "infobox country at games" ( as NF) Example: Sint Maarten at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships WildCherry06 20:58, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
- SXM wouldn't be used in your example because the code used by FINA is MAA. That's I suppose what I was asking for; in-situ uses where {{country alias}} needs to call SXM. Primefac (talk) 06:31, 10 September 2022 (UTC)

USA 49-star flag edge case during 1959 Pan American Games
Hello, I've encountered an edge case with the USA flag, specifically for the 1959 Pan American Games. The games took place from August 27 to September 7, 1959. This means the flag of the USA had 49 stars at the time (July 4, 1959 – July 3, 1960). However, when I link {{FlagPASO|USA|1959}}
, the flag displayed is the 48-star flag (used from 1912 to July 3, 1959), which is incorrect for this particular case. The same no doubt also applies to {{FlagPASOteam}}
, {{FlagPASOathlete}}
, and {{FlagPASOmedalist}}
. Inputting 1960 displays the correct flag for this situation, but this means the template links to a nonsensical/nonexistent "1960 Pan American Games". Could someone please add this edge case into the code so that any of the aforementioned Pan American Games-related templates display the 49-star USA flag in 1959? Thank you. Hello! Can you delete all redirected flag files so that the factual flag files can be shown. It is many flags which have redirects see what you can do about them. - Partly done: I'll get to the second half of this later (I'm literally headed out the door now) but I've updated the filename as requested. The second half of this is to actually have Zaire as an alternate identity for COD, since they are what Zaire was and it makes no sense to have a duplicate entry. Primefac (talk) 15:44, 15 February 2023 (UTC) And yes, I do realise that Paine Ellsworth updated the ZAI filename, but since that is getting 86'd in about three hours... sorry? - Completed – had already done one part of it, mybad on the other part as my search for "zaire" doesn't work in the module edit screen for some reason. Curious as to why my edit would be "86'd in about three hours"? P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 15:51, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
- Well, I misremembered how the code worked, and thought I was going to completely fold ZAI into COD, but it actually turns out that my normal method for fixing name changes is actually the opposite, so it's my edits that are going to be erased soon! Primefac (talk) 18:53, 15 February 2023 (UTC)

I'm getting tired of playing spot-the-difference with these ten-line requests that only have a single digit different. This is not something only you have done, just something that I keep seeing happening over and over. Primefac (talk) 11:17, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
