Savart wheel
[edit]- ... that an experimental musical instrument based on Savart's wheel (pictured) is said to make "the most obtrusive, obnoxious and irritating sound ever known"?

artificial generator of ultrasoundultrasonic generator? - ALT2:... that Savart's wheel (pictured) may have been the first ultrasonic generator; and that an experimental musical instrument based on it claims to make "the most obtrusive, obnoxious and irritating sound ever known"?
- Reviewed: Cranial nerve
- Comment: The page topic gathers together various encyclopedic titbits (or, perhaps one could say, "sound bites"?) There's more than one possible hooke. Adding: Imo, ALT1 might be a good option if the image is included.

- Has been expanded more than 5x, and is more than long enough. Hook and ALT1 are both cited inline, and the source cited supports each. Other hooks could be devised. Each seems interesting, I would favor Alt1 which seems more significant, although perhaps less catchy. Could they be combined? I found no copyright or paraphrase issues with the article. Image is free (long out of copyright). QPQ done. Looks good to me, only question is choice of hook. DES (talk) 11:59, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for reviewing David (and for spotting my badderfly's). I've made a naive attempt to connect the two proposed hooks in a somewhat lengthy ALT2, though I'm not sure whether more is necessarily more here. Personally, I feel ALT1 could be snappy if the image is included. Please feel free to tweak... 217.42.178.17 (talk) 17:19, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
