Public image of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner
[edit]... that Argentine president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner used widow clothing for three years and a month?
- Reviewed: Operation Triangle
Moved to mainspace by Cambalachero (talk). Self nominated at 15:03, 4 November 2014 (UTC).
- Despite EEng's opinion, article is within policy, is long enough, and this nomination was within time limit from being moved into mainspace. At 108 characters, hook is short enough and it's cited within the article (so Google translate tells me). The problem is that the nominator didn't perform a correct QPQ. After 80 successful DYK noms they should know better. I suggest re-wording the hook to:
- ALT1: ... that Argentine president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner wore the black clothes of mourning for three years and a month after her husband died?
- It's 146 characters and is clearer than the wording from Spanish you use. I also suggest the nom act quick before someone slaps the article with a maintenance tag. Chris Troutman (talk) 04:12, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
- Done, I have reviewed Template:Did you know nominations/Donbass Association as well. As for Operation Triangle, I declined to continue reviewing it because I felt insulted by the nominator. Next time I have to do that, I will review some second nomination. Cambalachero (talk) 13:08, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
- It would help if you are circumspect in your reviews. In the future please state that the hook is short enough (136 characters), that the hook is cited in the article (it is), and if the QPQ was done (Stamboliyski only has four DYK credits so QPQ isn't needed). I'll assume you checked these things and forgot to state such. Do not believe that the rules change because you've done so many DYKs.
- If you do a proper QPQ from the start there's no need to
"continue reviewing it"
. You state the case and walk away with QPQ credit. Cutting corners will create the seeds of doubt in the minds of editors and we're going to be less apt to assume good faith. This entry is otherwise good to go. Chris Troutman (talk) 15:29, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
- - Seeing as an ALT hook was suggested - could someone please look at this with fresh eyes? PanydThe muffin is not subtle 19:13, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
- ALT1 is fine; foreign-language hook ref AGF (though I verified it in Google Translate) and cited inline. I added a link at the end of the hook in case anyone's interested who her husband was. I edited the whole article for English grammar, and found it to be a nice treatment of the subject. It's not a content fork at all. ALT1 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 22:02, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
