Lichfield Angel
- ... that the 8th-century Lichfield Angel (reconstruction pictured) was originally decorated with brightly coloured pigments? Source: "it was made at the end of the eighth century" from page 17 of: Wilcox, Dr Pete (2011). The Gold, the Angel and the Gospel Book. Wenlock, Shropshire: RJL Smith & Associates. ISBN 978-0-9558887-7-9.There is a description of the pigments used (and a reconstruction of how they would have looked) in Geary, Angela; Howe, Emily (September 2009). "Three‐dimensional documentation and virtual restoration of the Lichfield Angel". Journal of the Institute of Conservation. 32 (2): 165–179. doi:10.1080/19455220903059875. ISSN 1945-5224.

- Comment: There are photos of the actual piece in the article but in one the fragments are separated and the other is through a display case so not as clear

- mostly fine (dating, length, sourcing etc), but would go with its discovery as a more interesting hook. The lead image is exceptional, to promoting admin please bump, and great to see this here. Ceoil (talk) 03:49, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
- ALT1: ... that the 8th-century Lichfield Angel (reconstruction pictured) was discovered beneath the floor of Lichfield Cathedral in 2003?
- Noting the ALT1 hook is supported by the British Museum ref: Lichfield Angel: Late 8th or early 9th century, but would add dating (which may influence the hook) and size in lead, and maybe even, shock/horor, an "infobox artefact". Ceoil (talk) 08:37, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
