Foss (cat)
[edit]- ... that Edward Lear is said to have built his new house on the same floorplan as his old home to avoid confusing his cat Foss? "legend has it, when Lear built a new house he instructed the architect to design it to be exactly like the old one so Foss would not be too disorientated by the move."
- ALT1:... that Edward Lear's cat Foss is said to have been almost as famous as his owner? "wrote about him and drew him so often that he became almost as famous as his owner"

Overall: copyvio <23%, sweet story that will be quite entertaining. Lots of sources except Lear's biography by Peter Levi [1].I can't see anything obvious missing. Some references say it was 'said' or 'legend has it' about the villa being made the same to avoid Foss becoming confused. Whispyhistory (talk) 11:52, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review Whispyhistory. Good find on that new source (Levi), I have incorporated some new information into the article. The relatively high copyvio percentage is because of the quoted poem - Dumelow (talk) 12:55, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
