Bertil Almgren, Oscar Almgren, Sune Lindqvist, Mårten Stenberger
[edit]( Back to T:TDYK )
( Article history links: )
- ... that when blindness forced Oscar Almgren to retire as professor of Scandinavian and Comparative Archaeology at Uppsala University, a role filled by Sune Lindqvist and Mårten Stenberger in turn, his young son Bertil Almgren read academic papers to him, and decades later took the post himself?
Source: Gräslund 2012: It's in Swedish, but the relevant info (from paragraphs 2–4) is Google translated here
- Reviewed: 1) Edwin D. Mott; 2) Polaris (UK nuclear programme); 3) Afropolonia; 4) Brachyanax.
- Comment: 47 characters over the suggested number when factoring in Rule C3, but it's a discretionary limit with multiple bolded articles, and I think that the hook flows as worded.

- Oscar Almgren: "He was also the son of Bertil Almgren, ..."
- Bertil Almgren: "Bertil Almgren was ... the son of Oscar Almgren, ..."
- I see Oscar is elder than Bertil, so can you remove "He was also the son of Bertil Almgren, ..." in Oscar Almgren and replace it with the correct sentence? Hanamanteo (talk) 05:51, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hanamanteo, fixed. Meant to say that Oscar Almgren was the father. --Usernameunique (talk) 05:57, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

- Hi Usernameunique, review follows:
- Oscar Almgren: 5x expansion confirmed on 7 April, prose length circa 1650 characters, sources entirely in Swedish so am presuming no copyright violations, article is well written and cited inline throughout to reliable sources
- Sune Lindqvist: 5x expansion confirmed on 7 April, prose length circa 1580 characters, sources entirely in Swedish so am presuming no copyright violations, article is well written and cited inline throughout to reliable sources, there is a blue expansion tag relating to additional information available at the Swedish Wikipedia for future expansion of the article but this is not an issue as it is not a maintenance tag
- Mårten Stenberger: New article created 10 April, prose length circa 1560 characters, sources entirely in Swedish so am presuming no copyright violations, article is well written and cited inline throughout to reliable sources,
- Bertil Almgren: 5x expansion confirmed on 7 April, prose length circa 1800 characters, sources entirely in Swedish so am presuming no copyright violations, article is well written and cited inline throughout to reliable sources, there is a blue expansion tag relating to additional information available at the Swedish Wikipedia for future expansion of the article but this is not an issue as it is not a maintenance tag
- Hook: Hook information is contained across all the articles. They are all in agreement with the succession to the role as listed and the Bertil and Oscar articles confirm the blindness and reading facts. The source is the same for all articles, it is Swedish but a quick glanceover seems to confirm that it supports the hook facts - I am happy to AGF in any case. The hook is interesting and, although over the 200 character limit even taking into account rule C3, I think it reads well and am happy to WP:IAR on this - Dumelow (talk) 10:03, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
