Xbox LIVE Community Games
[edit]The Xbox LIVE Community Games (XBLCG) section is now bigger than the Xbox LIVE Arcade (XBLA) section. XBLCG should have it's own page, as XBLA has, and the summary on this article of XBLCG should be simply about it's primarily low-budget indie game developers, without a game quality rating system (all games get approved as long as they don't fail for technical reasons such as crashes). I know the content of an XBLCG could be very huge, and it's stifled while being stuck in the middle of the Xbox LIVE Marketplace article. There is a big community behind it (of course!) that will probably help build the article to be very good. Right now it feels insignificant and it's completely out of date. Can someone start the article for me? 24.224.184.158 (talk) 03:17, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
merger
[edit]I merged the content of Microsoft Points since this stub has plenty of room. The points can't be used in any other venue anyway. ˉˉanetode╞┬╡ 06:33, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
unit mixup
[edit]why when 500 points is $6.25 (USA) is 100 points 1.25¢?? it should be $1.25. This problem is all over the "cost of 100 points" columns I think. --HTL2001 (Talk|Contrib) 17:56, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
They way I see it the price/point column doesn't make sense since it gives that figure in local currency. I and probably 95% of humanity with me have no idea what a Yen is worth at the moment or what's an AUD compared to a NZD compared to ab USD compared to a KMD (Karl Marx Ersatzdollar, aka as "EUR") 84.160.254.110 02:12, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
xbox pipeline
[edit]this is just a pc based browser interface. I don't see the article ever becoming very large. It is written very wordily right now, and condensing it would make it a fine section for this article. --gatoatigrado 21:04, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- It's its own site that just opened. Has lots of room for improvement and deserves its own article that isn't just a small blurb in another. No need to merge.
- I'd agree that a merge makes sense. Cpc464 13:29, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Agree PureLegend 18:35, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- Agree It is too small at the moment to be it's own article, it would be better merged into this one. If it becomes too large a section then it can be broken off into an article again. James086 Talk | Contribs|Currently up for Editor Review! 13:00, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Agree --166.66.103.37 19:42, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- Agree, I will merge it personally. --Msc44 04:27, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
I think retaining this section should be reconsidered; the url forwards users to xbox.com and information about the marketplace; there is no ability to download content to a PC. H0mi 19:00, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
This site is no longer owned or operated by microsoft. The section should be deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.120.162.230 (talk) 00:10, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- I believe it should stay there, it provides useful information about a previous addition to the Marketplace. AP Shinobi (talk) 00:06, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Xbox Live Video
[edit]Xbox live video doesn't need its own page, its just an update to the xbox live marketplace's video section.
- Agree, see above. --Msc44 04:27, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

old market place
[edit]can someone change the market place pic they are for old version. can some one put pics of latest up date up please.
- The last update drastically changed the functionality and look of the Marketplace. This article needs new pictures to accurately represent them. 24.20.199.104 11:44, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Xbox Live Video Update
[edit]I think there should be a section listing all movies and TV shows on the Video Marketplace
- It would be unbelievably too long imo. AP Shinobi (talk) 00:06, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Infobox for Xbox Live Pipeline
[edit]I took off the infobox on the pipeline section, since there really isn't a need for it. All the info in the infobox is already on the article. People keep restoring the infobox, when there really isn't a need for it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cjcamilla (talk • contribs) 21:38, 3 December 2006 (UTC).
new section - downloadable content and broken/replacement consoles
[edit]It seems there is an DRM issue - especially for poeple who have had replacement consoles/upgraded to elite/multiple consoles per households..
I've added a section to Xbox_Live_Marketplace#Problems_with_replacement_consoles - please take a look at it and edit it for clarity etc.87.102.2.76 13:43, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

List of all HD content on Xbox Live
[edit]In July 2007, I added a link to the 'External links' section of this article which pointed to a list I maintain of all the HD content available on Xbox Live. In December 2007, an editor removed the link citing that it was linkspam. Fair enough. I obviously have a conflict of interest in adding a link to my own web pages. Regardless, I think Wikipedia's users would find the link to be a useful resource for further information about Xbox Live Marketplace that isn't available from Microsoft or elsewhere. I maintain the pages for no purpose other than providing useful information to fellow Xbox Live users. The pages contain no solicitations. Here is the link as originally included in this article:
- Xbox Live Video Offerings In HD, up-to-date listing of all Xbox Live content in High-definition (movies, TV shows, trailers, clips, etc.)
I invite any editors to review the link above and add it back to the 'External links' section if they think it would be valuable to Wikipedia's users.
Thanks. -- Bryan H Bell (talk) 08:39, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Xladb.jpg
[edit]Image:Xladb.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Video Marketplace Question
[edit]How does it work, can you also buy content for keeps? Or is it just a rental service? It should be made clear in the article. --Elven6 (talk) 00:05, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- I think it's clear enough as it is:
TV shows will be saved permanently while movies are only "rentals"
--RoyalFool (talk) 20:01, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
Heh whoops, I don't know how I could have missed that, thanks for the help --Elven6 (talk) 01:39, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Fair Use of New Logo
[edit]I just was wondering if we should take the logo at the top of the "http://www.xbox.com/en-us/live/marketplace/ticker.htm and use that as the logo under the "Ticker" section in this article. The only thing that is stopping me is whether it is "fair use" Gyrferret (talk) 19:36, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
NXE Information Added
[edit]I have added a "Very" brief expression of what is going to be happening with marketplace with the NXE. If anyone else has more information on what will be included please add it to "Whats Coming", I have started that as a new subject in the Article. Once we get to the New Xbox Experiance we should consider re-doing the article to match the at time experiances that players will be reciving however at the sametime maintain information regarding the previous Experiance.
I have also inculded some new images.

Transfer licenses
[edit]"License transfers could not be performed in the case of a voluntary upgrade (e.g., if the user purchased an Xbox 360 Elite to replace their old console). Microsoft support states the license transfer process takes 20-30 days, however users have found that it can take much longer."
Is there a source for both 20-30 days, and users experiencing that it takes longer? 85.226.5.136 (talk) 17:44, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with File:Mspoints.PNG
[edit]The image File:Mspoints.PNG is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.
The following images also have this problem:

Microsoft Points
[edit]Regarding the comment on this page "Microsoft Points are universal across the globe", perhaps this should be changed as games and items vary in Microsoft Point cost and are so are localised to a certain amount rather than being universal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MatthiusF (talk • contribs) 17:16, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
