wow... extreme bias... excellence, we are, etc. we need to follow guidelines here!

Yeah, the page is pretty much a disaster and needs a complete rewrite. Tjarrett (talk) 15:21, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Restructuring

I tried to restructure the page into some semblance of a halfway-decent starting point. The Departments and Department Heads sections have been combined into a table; a proper history section has been introduced; and other framework including an infobox.

Room for expansion: notability of faculty; wikilinks for faculty; notable alumni (need new section). Tjarrett (talk) 18:38, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

File:UVa School of Medicine.jpg Deleted

An image used in this article, File:UVa School of Medicine.jpg, has been deleted from Wikimedia Commons by EugeneZelenko for the following reason: Copyright violation: University logo. Not text only

What should I do?

You can remove the code for this image from the article text (which can look messy), however a different bot may already have done so. You could also try to search for new images to replace the one deleted. If you think the deletion was in error please raise the issue at Commons.

not separately notable DGG ( talk ) 03:21, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

  • I agree this separate article should be merged. Many topics are not noteworthy enough to warrant their own articles and this is one of them. Bill Pollard (talk) 05:07, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
  • Based on WP:NHOSPITALS, this passes the notability requirements for hospitals, and more generally, organizations. (Also, I don't think the Cancer Center is a unit of the SOM, so if you want to merge it, the article on the UVA Health System might be a better choice.) Natureium (talk) 15:42, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
Also oppose merge, given the evidence for independent notability (WP:N). Klbrain (talk) 10:39, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
Closing, given the arguments for independent notability. Klbrain (talk) 03:53, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
