In December 2021 I stopped writing and editing in Wikipedia, because I was discouraged for several reasons. My discouragement has grown into disillusionment. I will keep my account open. I will write and edit again someday if I once again see a dedication to encouraging what individuals do here. I no longer see that.
I first became a Wikipedian August 4, 2005. I wrote much for several months, but then wrote only intermittantly until spring 2010. Since 2005 I have written and edited many articles.
I work as a registered sleep technologist and respiratory therapist in central Florida. I once worked on articles about medical organizations and hospitals, but I stopped most of that work. I love history and I enjoy exploring area lakes and parks. Most of my articles have been about Civil War forts, Florida lakes and sites in the Philippines, where I have traveled. I also sometimes add information to articles in which I have an interest.
I also wrote two articles about places in Hertfordshire, England, as I lived there in 2001 and 2002.
In November 2013 I was appointed to the Highlands County, Florida, Historic Preservation Commission and was reappointed in 2016. From July 2015 to Oct. 2019 I was the Commission's chairperson. In 2016 I became involved in the Highlands County Democratic Party, being appointed to the steering committee of its Democratic Executive Committee in 2017 and being appointed the County's state committeeman in 2019. I ran for the Democratic nomination for the Florida District 17 U.S. House of Representatives position in 2018, but I lost, getting 23% of the votes.
My adopted typos are "fourty," the incorrect spelling of "forty," and "artic," the incorrect spelling of "arctic."
