On 28 November 2023, it was proposed that this article be moved from Typhoon Koinu (2023) to Typhoon Koinu. The result of the discussion was moved. |
Rename page
[edit]This article should be renamed because it is the only storm named Koinu, for now (unless it is retired). Songda Talas 05:26, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
- Clarification: I was attempting to convey that this is the only storm named Koinu, for now (if the storm is not retired and is used when the list reaches Koinu again). If it is retired this will always be the only storm named Koinu. Songda Talas 06:28, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- I have a requested move in proccess. 120.28.224.32 (talk) 15:39, 5 December 2023 (UTC)

Typhoon Koinu (2023) → Typhoon Koinu - It currently is the only storm currently named Koinu, just rename it for now unless it gets retired. I agree with someone above who requested a move of this page. 120.28.224.32 (talk) 10:25, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose "..unless it gets retired." We won't know until the annual meeting, so it should stay put right now. Regards, 👦 14:41, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose - i undersand your logic, but until it gets retired, lets leave it as it is 173.71.190.42 (talk) 22:30, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose Not much significance among areas affected, the erratic track is something to note of, but however none of these support the fact of this merge 66.119.200.82 (talk) 20:23, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
Oppose Little damage done to areas affected. Being powerful does not make Koinu qualify for a merge. The only thing I see here that could result in this being merged is the fact that this is the only Koinu, but then again, not very significant. Insendieum ALT (talk) 20:25, 30 November 2023 (UTC)- This is not what this proposal was about. I'd reccomend re-reading this. Sria-72 (talk) 15:14, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- Support regardless of whether this winds up getting retired. Until and unless there is another Typhoon Koinu, disambiguation is not necessary here. --Dylan620 (he/him · talk · edits) 22:07, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
- Support move from Typhoon Koinu (2023) to Typhoon Koinu: It is the only tropical cyclone named Koinu so far and it had notable impact. It resulted in 399 injuries as well. VehicleandWeatherEnthusiast2022 (talk) 01:22, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- Support as others have said, it is currently the only storm named Koinu, and until this name is used again it should be kept as Typhoon Koinu. An example of this is Tropical Storm Ampil, which was the first and currently only storm named this, but it was not retired after the season. Sria-72 (talk) 15:14, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- Comment - I was saying it should be temporarily renamed to Typhoon Koinu just for now, unless it's retired. 120.28.224.32 (talk) 19:48, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- Support - 120.28.224.32 (talk) 19:48, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- Comment - I was saying this page should be temporarily renamed to Typhoon Koinu and kept as it until the name is used again, if the name is retired the name Typhoon Koinu should be permanent. 120.28.224.32 (talk) 19:52, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- Support @Nino Marakot: Your argument is contrary to WP:D2D because there is only one Typhoon Koinu. @Insendieum: This is not a WP:MERGE. That's a completely separate topic.--Jasper Deng (talk) 21:27, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- Comment - They should read the thing first. 120.28.224.32 (talk) 23:24, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- Comment Sorry about that @Jasper Deng I was trying to say something along the lines of “this article being moved to just Typhoon Koinu” Insendieum (talk) 04:33, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
- Support Being the only Koinu, I believe this should be moved to Typhoon Koinu Insendieum (talk) 04:37, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
