Tour dates

[edit]

I have removed the suggestion about an upcoming tour in 2016. There was no official announcement and now a year after the estimated date there is still no indicator of that happening anywhere. This information is outdated and has no real source. I can not find any information or announcements that there will be anything in the future. Has anyone heard or have information on any up and coming tours? AnastasiaMassie (talk) 18:51, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Name meaning

[edit]

Does anyone perhaps know what the name means? As in its symbolic meaning? THis would certainly be of relevance but i cant find anything. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.184.241.17 (talkcontribs) 13:51, August 25, 2012‎

Thomas Bergersen once answered this question on his Facebook page, but I have to disappoint you, there's no really symbolic meaning behind it. You can read his answer here. Wtfitsadinosaur (talk) 18:15, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Burn Album citation

[edit]

Citations for the Burn album please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.99.72.139 (talk) 22:59, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Solaris

[edit]

I just found out that TSFH just released a new album 5 days ago. When I saw the name I was thinking of the album Sun. Are they the same albums or different? Sources to please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.54.90.184 (talk) 02:12, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nick Phoenix

[edit]

He needs a page of his own. I made one but it got deleted. :( Maybe it was because it didn't have much information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aeduh (talkcontribs) 23:42, 2 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New demo tracks

[edit]

Why do you guys keep removing my edits?? Those songs I was talking about are actual songs created by Thomas Bergersen! If you don't believe me, go to YouTube and enter in the search bar, "Thomas bergersen that's a wrap" or "Thomas bergersen autumn love", then you'll know that there are some songs by Thomas Bergersen that are called "That's a Wrap" and "Autumn Love".118.107.237.79 (talk) 22:40, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. We didn't say we didn't believe you, but Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a blog. Wikipedia should not report every detail about everything. Please read help pages for more information (sorry, my English is not very good). NemesisIII (talk) 00:19, 26 February 2014 (UTC).[reply]

Two Steps From Hell

[edit]

is the name of the group, according to their website. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:26, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it is, I suppose. But the name of something and the styling of the name (such as its capitalization) are not the same thing, and Wikipedia has guidelines about such matters, such as MOS:CAPS, MOS:QUOTE, and MOS:TM. In particular, Wikipedia generally eschews excess capitalization. —BarrelProof (talk) 22:57, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that you can handle a name as a quote. We keep the styling of names in other cases, such as musikFabrik. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:03, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
We don't always follow the styling people use to refer to themselves and their works. Relevant guidelines include:
  • MOS:CAPS#Trademarks: "For trademarks, editors should choose among styles already in common use (not invent new ones) and among those use the style that most closely resembles standard English text formatting and capitalization rules."
  • MOS:TM: "This page in a nutshell: Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules, regardless of the preference of trademark owners."
I didn't spend much time looking, but I notice that Allmusic is one example of a source that uses "from" in lowercase. My impression is that in the ordinary English text formatting and capitalization rules on Wikipedia, we tend not to capitalize four-letter prepositions such as "from" (e.g., per MOS:CT).
BarrelProof (talk) 23:28, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Also, one of the referenced works of the company itself is this web page. In its opening sentence ("It’s common knowledge in Hollywood that the sound of Two Steps from Hell has been the gold standard ...") and some of the artwork on that page, it is styled as "Two Steps from Hell". In other places on that page it is also found as "Two Steps From Hell" and "TWO STEPS FROM HELL", as well as other variations such as "Two Steps FROM HELL". They seem quite willing to play around randomly with their capitalization. —BarrelProof (talk) 23:49, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So people can't decide what to call themselves? That is utterly ridiculous! WP:TM actually contradicts itself between the lead and the body. "however: The Prime Minister indicated that the Cadbury Creme Egg was delicious. (This is allowed because the product name includes the product type.)" But then it turns around and suggests "Kiss" instead of [[KISS}]. Yet INXS is not "Inxs". Frankly, this guideline is ridiculous and appears to have been edited by people blind to what one paragraph says after the other. Shall we re-capitalize bell hooks even though the all-lowercase name is something she specifically adopted? Or shall we call NASA the National aeronautics and space administration (when in the real world it's all in title case)? Or perhaps Pizza hut? I don't think I have heard anything so ridiculous in my life as Wikipedia being able to dictate to people how to capitalize their names and such. In the case of a musical group, that might even open up concerns for trademark dilution. It may come as a shock, but wikipedia is not supposed to engage in WP:OR or WP:SYNTH on things. If the band name has a certain capitalization, then this needs to be respected. Just ran across a site (copyrighted name) called eXtension. Eliminate the unusual capitalization and you have a vague word, not a specific entity. this web page is titled with title case, their facebook page is, their "about" page uses title case in the body text, it is clear that, notwithstanding other grammatical structures, the band themselves wants it this way. Montanabw(talk) 02:44, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't really think it is that clear, given the link BarrelProof provided. The Manual of Style, on the other hand, seems fairly clear on this matter, and suggesting that "from" instead of "From" is WP:OR or WP:SYNTH is rather far-fetched, and the comparison to the acronym NASA is very much an apples-to-oranges situation; they don't compare. - Aoidh (talk) 03:59, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
