The result of the move request was: rename both as nominated. There appears to be scope for consensus on merging or renaming or splitting some of the related articles, but this discussion has not reached any conclusions on that ... and none of those decisions alter the consensus that there is no WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for "Tully". So these two renamings are without prejudice to any further restructuring of the pages which cover Tully as a human name. -- BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 21:06, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
– There does not appear to be a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for "Tully", so the dab page which disambiguates all potential topics referredt to by the single word "Tully" (placenames, Cicero, the movie, etc.), should be located there, rather than a list of partial matches. (Even if the surname hypothetically were the primary topic, then the actual article Tully (surname) rather than the list of people with the surname would be the one that should occupy the undisambiguated title). quant18 (talk) 16:12, 24 February 2014 (UTC) quant18 (talk) 16:12, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
- Note most other lists of people by surname use "with surname"; it sounds ungrammatical to me but it appears to be the convention, compare Special:PrefixIndex/List of people with surname vs. Special:PrefixIndex/List of people surnamed or Special:PrefixIndex/List of people with the surname. Thanks, quant18 (talk) 16:15, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
- I'd rather see the list merged with Tully (surname). I don't see a good reason to separate surname articles and lists generally, though of course if there's a size concern or something, that's fine. --BDD (talk) 19:32, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hmm, just noticed that Tully also includes the given name Tully (didn't scroll down far enough before; thought the {{surname}} template was the bottom). I guess there's two options:
- Move Tully to List of people named Tully instead, or
- Merge the surname people to Tully (surname) and the given name people to the dab page.

- Anyway #2 is fine by me too, though I don't know if editors who maintain Tully (surname) have a different idea. quant18 (talk) 20:19, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
- Support something the disambiguation page should reside at "Tully". The edit history for the people list should be displaced. But the list current contains people by the given name Tully as well, so perhaps ]]List of people named Tully]] would be better. But after it moves, that list should be merged either to the surname article or to the disambiguation page. -- 70.50.151.11 (talk) 07:40, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
