POV and lack of clarity?
[edit]"On January 11, 1967, the band conquered London when they appeared at The Bag O'Nails nightclub." Does this mean that the group "ruled" the city after this appearance? As much as I admire the JHE this seems like fan speak to me.
"In attendance that night were John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Brian Epstein, Lulu, the Hollies, Small Faces, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle, Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, Donovan, Georgie Fame, Denny Laine, Terry Reid, Jeff Beck, and Eric Clapton, who rarely missed any of Hendrix's London gigs." Are all these folks the ones who "rarely missed any of Hendrix's London gigs"? The sentence is vague in this respect and needs some clean up. As I do not have this information at hand it would be nice for the original author to do the edit. Thoughts?THX1136 (talk) 14:32, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
I would like to offer a line to The Jimi Hendrix Experience after the line Hendrix chose Redding because of his attitude towards music and his hairstyle.to read Hendrix chose Redding because of his attitude towards music and his hairstyle. Redding introduced Mitchel as his unemployed friend. When revealed as unemployed, not unemployed musician Hendrix said "It's ok I'll teach them both to play". My source is uk radio one interview with Chaz Chandler 1985. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vinylzappa (talk • contribs) 01:18, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
The last tour: Often VS. Sometimes "the Jimi Hendrix Experience"
[edit]While Jimi Hendrix and bandmates went on the last tour (The Cry of Love Tour) this article states that
- "The group itself was referred to as "Jimi Hendrix" and sometimes the "Jimi Hendrix Experience"."
However, the The Cry of Love Tour article states in contradiction
- "... the trio of Hendrix, Mitch Mitchell (drums) and Billy Cox (bass) was often billed as "the Jimi Hendrix Experience"."
Which article is correct? - Hlu1001 (talk) 14:31, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
Notice of an RfC about including the word "The" in song/album article titles
[edit]Hello there! I started a discussion on the page Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Music on 7 July, and it hasn't received any responses. This RfC concerns the use of the word "The" in band names in parentheses in the titles of articles about songs and albums. Further elaboration can be found on that discussion page. I would appreciate thoughts from anyone who may be interested in the discussion. Thank you. –Matthew - (talk) 20:51, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Do we need this article? Is there anything in it that can't be sufficiently covered in the Jimi Hendrix article? Popcornfud (talk) 19:07, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Popcornfud: I was thinking that as well, particularly as I know GabeMc did a huge amount of work getting Hendrix to FA and consequently that article dwarfs this one. Shall I just be bold and do it? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:45, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- You’re the only person to voice any feeling about this idea since I posted it months ago - so be bold away! Popcornfud (talk) 13:08, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- Ritchie333, do you think The Jimi Hendrix Experience (album) should be moved here? I don't have an opinion. edit: Looking again, that's a box set rather than a self-titled album so probably not the primary topic after all. Popcornfud (talk) 21:38, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- I'd probably leave it, and put a "redirects here" note at the top of the main Hendrix article. I think most people typing that in are going to be looking for the group. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:20, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
- Ritchie333, good idea, will do. Popcornfud (talk) 10:07, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
