Notability
[edit]I'm wondering if this page meets Wikipedia notability guidelines as outlined in WP:Notability. By that guideline, we should have: "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject". Bigglove 02:08, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Is anyone able to help with citations for this page? Bigglove 23:26, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles → Jewish Journal – Hasn't been called The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles for years, and that full phrase appears nowhere on its website that I can find Tenebrae (talk) 21:24, 19 November 2020 (UTC) —Relisting. Heart (talk) 16:54, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 09:07, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose original proposal. The dabpage serves to use the base name for readers seeking any publication of the same name. How about either Jewish Journal (Greater Los Angeles) or leave as-is? --George Ho (talk) 01:51, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- Support as nominator. The periodical is factually no longer called The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles. And the disambiguation page has no other periodical called simply Jewish Journal. (The others are The Jewish Journal (Boston North), Jewish Morning Journal, and San Diego Jewish Journal.)--Tenebrae (talk) 02:27, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
- But The Jewish Journal (Boston North) is likely to be colloquially called "(the) Jewish Journal" by people in Boston (Mass, USA), and likewise San Diego Jewish Journal by people in San Diego. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 19:19, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
- Leaning oppose to this particular proposal per Anthony Appleyard. The disambiguation page at the title, The Jewish Journal, is better, to avoid bad links being made. BD2412 T 05:54, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
- Leaning oppose per George Ho. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 06:39, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose. WP:PTOPICs invariably collect bad links. I remember having fixed at least two links to the DAB page which were intended for The Jewish Journal (Boston North). Narky Blert (talk) 12:12, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
The redirect from Jewish Insider to this article is wrong and misleading
[edit]I was referring to a piece in the Jewish Insider in an article I'm working on and I searched Wikipedia for Jewish Insider while completing the citation dialogue. To my surprise, I landed on this article, which describes a completely different publication, with a different name, logo, Web site address, and so on. Scanning down the article, I discovered the apparent reason for this confusing state of affairs: "In 2015, Tribe Media Corp. acquired Jewish Insider". If this article was about Tribe Media Corp. then it might make sense to have this redirect. But it is not. The article is about the Jewish Journal. IMO, the redirect should be deleted.
